Chapter 186: Chapter 186: A Short Training Session – 2
A little farther away from him, there was a globe of red light glowing intensely, swirling and darting around in random directions like a mindless bird inside his inner world.
This red globe of light was the will of the blood of the Night King, blood that Damian had synthesized and separated from the Night King’s own essence when he devoured it, before transitioning into the Vampire Progenitor.
“I have to do something about it,” Damian muttered, but then chose to ignore it and moved toward the six differently colored trees he could see not far from there.
Walking through the red sea, he approached the six banyan-like trees, their vines and aerial roots flowing down from their branches.
Each of them looked completely different from the others.
The largest tree had bright greenish-red roots and branches, with long, massive golden leaves glowing with an ethereal brilliance.
They emitted golden light that illuminated this blood-red, dark inner world even more than the other five trees.
This particular tree represented one of the races he embodied, one he couldn’t access yet.
Damian went near and touched the trunk of the tree. “It won’t be long before we become one…”
As if sensing his thoughts, the tree released a couple of waves of golden light.
He then turned his attention to the tree growing next to the golden-leaf tree.
Though almost half its size, it still towered over him.
This particular tree appeared completely black, covered in fiery orange flames.
Yet the flames didn’t harm him or make him uncomfortable, in fact, the closer he got, the more brightly the silver flames burned.
“Hehe, they’ll be happy to know you’re still with me,” Damian sighed, smiling.
These two trees each represented two of the races he embodied but could not yet access because he hadn’t met the conditions.
He was close, he just needed to meet his family.
Ignoring these two trees, he looked at the remaining four.
One had blood-red leaves, as if made from blood itself, and a dark trunk and roots.
This one represented his Vampire Progenitor side.
Another had brown leaves emitting a faint white aura, with a dark, brownish trunk, this one represented his Human Progenitor side.
There was also a tree with purplish-black leaves and a dark trunk, representing his Fallen Angel side.
The last had reddish-amber leaves with pitch-black markings, along with amber trunks and roots.
This one represented his High Demon side.
Damian could also spot three figures, three different women made of pure aura, almost like silhouettes.
They represented his unique connection to his three wives: Lenora, Amelia, and Avaline.
Damian watched with a small smile as the three silhouettes walked around, looking at him and smiling, before he turned his attention back to the red sea.
This inner world represented Damian’s soul and everything that made him who he was.
Every being has an inner world that reflects what they are or what they’re made of, but no one, not even the gods, had a unique, powerful, and intense inner world like Damian’s.
As the inner world was a visual representation of oneself, it made it easier for Awakeners to study and better understand themselves.
He could see the roots of the six trees, representing the six races he embodied, stretching deep in all directions into the endless red sea.
Damian could feel that the roots of these races weren’t just spreading through the red sea, they were reaching into all corners of his inner world.
Damian closed his eyes and spread his senses, focusing on the roots.
The roots went deeper and deeper, along with his senses.
The deeper he went, Damian finally spotted a connection.
It was still in its beginning phase, but Damian could clearly see it, the roots of all the trees starting to interconnect with each other.
As the moment passed, more and more roots began to unite, influencing and strengthening each other.
“Looks like I was so focused on growing strong and becoming the Progenitor that I completely ignored what was happening inside me…” Damian muttered.
“I should keep an eye on this from now on. I don’t know what kind of effects it will have on me if they continue to influence each other, but at the moment, they don’t seem to have any negative effects. In fact, they’re producing qualitatively better effects.”
“Because of the influence of my human Progenitor essence on my vampire Progenitor essence, the vampires I create inherit traits of humans,” Damian wondered aloud as he used his abilities as the Progenitor to assess Lucian, even from within his inner world.
Since Lucian was turned into a noble vampire by Damian himself, that made Lucian a part of his sireline, a part of Damian’s noble vampire clan.
He had also formed a connection with him.
It was not as special as the connection he had with his wives, but it was a sireline connection.
Using this, he could communicate with the vampires of his sireline through telepathy and even influence them in various ways.
Damian used this connection to assess Lucian, his soul and physical vampiric body.
“Even though Lucian inherited the adaptability trait of humans, it’s still not nearly as strong as my High Humans,” Damian’s eyes glowed with a red light.
“But still, it is significantly effective”
“If this is how it is, then once I become the Progenitor of other races, they will also begin to unite and influence each other. Would that mean it would also increase the influence of their unique racial traits in the beings I create?”
“I have to be careful when creating new beings. This could seriously change the power hierarchy of races. I have to learn to control my race-creation abilities so that I won’t mix traits of other races when I’m creating a species of any specific race,” Damian sighed.
He was a young Progenitor.
Even though he possessed a soul that was millions upon millions of years old, being a Progenitor was still new to him.
Damian closed his eyes, and his consciousness left his inner world and resurfaced.
His eyelids opened, and he looked at Lucian Holloway.
“You are lucky, Lucian. As a noble vampire, you have the most potential compared to all the noble vampires that have ever existed,” Damian said.
In fact, as the Progenitor, Damian could still remove those human traits he had unknowingly given to Lucian if he wanted.
But it was alright.
It wasn’t a big deal, it was Lucian.
He could be trusted, and it wasn’t like he could outgrow Damian in terms of power or strength.
Damian closed his eyes and spread his senses, focusing on the roots.
The roots went deeper and deeper, along with his senses.
The deeper he went, Damian finally spotted a connection.

But it was alright.
It wasn’t a big deal, it was Lucian.
He could be trusted, and it wasn’t like he could outgrow Damian in terms of power or strength.
Even if he removed those traits from himself, Lucian would still be a comparatively higher-quality noble vampire than any other vampire, because Damian is qualitatively much more effective as the progenitor than past vampire progenitors.
“I owe you everything, my lord,” Lucian said, lowering his head.
“Yes, you do… I just hope you won’t do anything in the future that would make me want to take everything away from you,” Damian said, narrowing his eyes.
Lucian felt as if a monster was right in front of his throat, as if, if he did something wrong, it would bite a chunk out of it.
“I would hate for that to happen…”
“I-I…” It was a threat.
He understood that very well.
Damian not only had the power to give power, but also the power to take it away.
And if he did, he wouldn’t just take away power, he would take away everything and more.
“Relax. I won’t torture your soul unless you do something I don’t like,” Damian continued.
“As long as you don’t do anything bad, you can enjoy power, status, influence, and all sorts of riches.”
“I-I will do m-my best… your highness,” Lucian replied, sweating profusely.
Damian looked at Amaya and Lillian. “I heard you two like fighting and training?”
“Yes, we do, your highness,” Amaya replied.
“Want to train with me?” Damian asked, smiling slightly, making the two countesses nervous.
“Yes.”
“Then let’s go to the training grounds,” Damian said, and after a few minutes, they arrived at a barren, isolated land located in the Brenlith Clan’s territory, previously used by Lillian Brenlith as her private training ground.
Damian, his wives, five countesses, four human ministers, six werewolf ministers, and Lucian Holloway were all there, tagging along.
“Demonstrate your bloodline ability, Lucian,” Damian ordered.
As a noble vampire created by the vampire progenitor, one would awaken some sort of new bloodline ability or inherit a bloodline ability from the progenitor himself, which would then pass on to their children, thus creating a new noble vampire clan.
Following that tradition, Lucian also awakened a new bloodline ability. If he had children, they would inherit his bloodline ability and form his own clan.
“As you wish, your Highness,” Lucian said as he activated his bloodline ability.
In the next second, a water-like red substance began to manifest beneath his feet.
Instead of spreading in every direction, the red substance started stacking up, more and more, before it began to take form.
Within a few seconds, it had turned into the figure of Lucian himself, but made entirely of the red substance.
“What kind of ability is that?” Lillian asked.
“With my bloodline ability, I can create inanimate constructs using my [blood essence] and animate them using my mind,” Lucian said as he pointed at the construct created in his own image. ”
Right now, this is an inanimate object without it’s own free will, but I can control it using my mind by assigning a set of instructions to it.”
“Then instruct it to attack me,” Damian said.
“Attack the king,” Lucian instructed.
In the next second, the blood soldier moved on its own as if it had suddenly gained life.
It sprinted toward the Vampire King and punched him, not with any technique or special movement, just a simple brawling punch packed with the strength of a young vampire like Lucian.
The blood soldier punched right at the Vampire King’s solar plexus, and the attack connected, but nothing happened.
The punch did no damage.
“Hmm.” Damian gently slapped the blood soldier, and as soon as his hand touched it, the construct exploded into a mist of blood.
