Chapter 192: Memories

Chapter 192: Memories

Beatrix breathed a huge sigh of relief when she was safely tucked into her car and gave the driver instructions to take her home.

Her eyelids fluttered shut while she listened to her favorite song "All I want by Lauren Spencer.", with her AirPods hoping it would soothe her frazzled nerves.

She had gone on the third date in a span of a week in an attempt to forget about the Niarchos’ brothers but she couldn’t.

As the car glided through the city streets, Beatrix’s mind drifted back to her time with the Niarchos brothers. Their charming smiles, the way their eyes sparkled when they looked at her—it was all so captivating. She had tried to distract herself with other dates, hoping that someone else could fill the void they had left, but it seemed impossible.

"All I Want" filled her ears, its gentle melody blending with her thoughts. Beatrix found solace in the song’s lyrics, as if they mirrored her own yearnings. The hauntingly beautiful voice of Lauren Spencer resonated with her emotions, allowing her to momentarily forget the complications that came with the Niarchos brothers.

As she approached her neighborhood, Beatrix felt a pang of disappointment. She had hoped that these dates would help her move on, but the truth was undeniable—her heart belonged to the Niarchos brothers.

Lost in her own world, Beatrix’s mind wandered back to her time she had with the Niarchos brothers. Their charisma, charm, and undeniable chemistry had drawn her in like a moth to a flame. The kisses, moments, and the intoxicating allure of their presence had left an indelible mark on her.

She tried to rationalize her obsession, reminding herself of how they had lied and used her for their selfish gains but logic and reason seemed to wilt under the weight of her emotions.

A soft breeze caressed Beatrix’s face as the car rolled to a stop at a red light, momentarily breaking the spell of her thoughts. She gazed out of the window, watching people pass by, each one engrossed in their own lives, their own stories. It reminded her that life went on, regardless of her own heartache.

Beatrix sighed heavily, forcing her attention outside of the chaos in her head. The lights of the city became a distant memory as the driver navigated the luxury car up the familiar road. Ten minutes later, she heard the deceleration of the vehicle causing her eyes to snap open.

Her mansion rested majestically in front of her.

Adam, her driver, opened the door and held his hand out. Beatrix accepted it and he gently pulled her out of the car and to her feet.

He was handsome and looked about fifty years old with a touch of dignified gray hair and brown eyes.

He was the driver her father had assigned for her when she had told him she wanted to move out of the house.

He was initially against it but she had won her way this time around. He had given her one of his many hidden properties in another town.

"Do you need me anymore this evening, Miss?" he asked, his tone lilting pleasantly with a French accent.

"No, Adam, I am done for tonight, thank you. Greet your wife for me and have a good night."

Adam nodded without another word, and settled

himself back into the driver’s seat.

Beatrix watched the car pull away, before walking around the side of the building and up two flights of stairs to a private entrance that led to her room.

She entered her chambers and walked through the large expanse of the great room into the master bedroom.

There was a king size four poster bed with the softest linens anyone could find, not like she expected anything less.

Her father had made sure she was lavished with everything in life when she was moving out.

Her wardrobe? She had a fully equipped three story closet filled with all sorts of designer gowns and dresses for formal and informal wear.

She walked into the closet, her feet screaming in relief as she stepped out of the red stiletto heels that she had worn for the date. She gently flexed to relieve the ache, and curled her toes into the fluffy carpet.

She shimmied out of her dress and undergarments. She had complete privacy, so she didn’t bother with putting on a bathing suit.

She padded to the well-stocked linen closet and pulled out a huge white fluffy towel to dry off with later as she made her way to her bathroom.

Beatrix racked her hands through her hair as tiny drops of water cascaded over her shoulder, spilling down over her chest and onto her lower parts.

She closed her eyes and tilted her head up as she enjoyed the sensation of the water relaxing her muscles.

Suddenly she stiffened as unwanted memories assaulted her. Beatrix stiffened. Her heart slammed in her chest as she tried to calm down her nerves.

Beatrix leaned against the tiled wall of her spacious bathroom, desperately trying to steady her racing heart. The water continued to pour down, as if mirroring the tumultuous thoughts swirling in her mind.

The memories of her time with the Niarchos brothers invaded her consciousness once again. Their bodies, the electric touch of their hands, the intoxicating scent of their cologne—it all came flooding back, overwhelming her senses. But alongside those memories, the pain and betrayal resurfaced, reminding her of the heartache they had caused.

She took a deep breath, willing herself to regain control. Slowly, she turned off the shower, and the steady stream of water ceased. Droplets cascaded down her body, merging with the puddle forming beneath her feet.

Beatrix reached for the fluffy towel and wrapped it around herself, the soft fabric comforting against her damp skin. She stood there for a moment, allowing herself to feel the weight of her emotions, acknowledging the turmoil that had consumed her.

"Get yourself together, Bea," She whispered fiercely.
