Chapter 182: Visit graveyard

As Beatrix slowly opened her eyes, she realized she was not alone. The warmth of Rhys’ body enveloped her, his arm draped over her waist, and his breath tickled her neck. The room was bathed in the soft glow of the early morning sun, accompanied by the melodic chirping of birds outside. Beatrix took a moment to savor the intimacy of the moment, feeling a deep sense of contentment and happiness wash over her.

Turning her head, she gazed at Rhys, who was still sound asleep, his face relaxed and peaceful. She admired the way the sunlight danced in his hair, the gentle rise and fall of his chest with each breath, and the comforting sensation of his body against hers. A smile spread across her face as memories of the previous night flooded her thoughts—the passion, the intensity, and how Rhys had made her feel truly alive.

Gratitude and affection surged within her, and she knew she wanted to spend more time with him, waking up in his arms every morning. Lost in her thoughts, Rhys began to stir, his arm tightening around her waist as he nuzzled his face into her neck, planting a soft kiss there.

"Good morning, beautiful," he whispered, his voice husky with sleep.

Beatrix turned her head to face him, her eyes sparkling with joy. "Good morning," she replied, her smile radiant. "Last night was amazing. I feel so happy and fulfilled."

Rhys grinned, mischief dancing in his eyes. "I’m glad to hear that. But you know, we can always create more cherished memories."

Beatrix laughed, a blush coloring her cheeks. "You’re insatiable, Rhys."

Chuckling, he leaned in, capturing her lips in a deep kiss. As they broke apart, Rhys whispered against her lips, "I can’t get enough of you, Beatrix. You make me feel alive in a way I’ve never experienced before."

Her heart swelled with love and happiness, and she cupped his face in her hands, gazing into his eyes. "I feel the same way, Rhys. You’ve brought so much joy and passion into my life."

Rhys took her hand, leading her to the balcony where the morning sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon. "Let’s watch the sunrise together," he suggested, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her close.

Resting her head against his chest, Beatrix listened to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. She closed her eyes, inhaling the fresh morning air, and cherished the moment. For the first time in her life, she felt truly content and at peace.

As the sun rose higher in the sky, Rhys gently spoke, breaking the silence. "How are you?"

Beatrix sighed, her voice tinged with a hint of melancholy. "I don’t know. Every year on my mother’s anniversary, it’s hard for me to even get out of bed. And now, looking at us... I can’t help but feel a sense of guilt."

Rhys tenderly stroked her hair, his voice filled with compassion. "It’s okay to feel happy, Beatrix. Your mother would want that for you."

Nodding, tears welled up in her eyes. "I know, but it’s hard. Sometimes I feel like I’m betraying her memory by moving on."

Rhys pulled her closer, holding her tightly. "You’re not betraying anyone, Beatrix. Your mother will always be a part of you, but you deserve to live your life and find happiness."

Beatrix sniffled, wiping away her tears. "Thank you, Rhys. You always know the right thing to say."

ys smiled, kissing her forehead. "I just want to see you happy, Beatrix. That’s all that matters to me."

Beatrix leaned into him, feeling a profound gratitude for his presence in her life. As they continued to watch the sunrise together, she knew that she had found something extraordinary with Rhys—a connection that transcended mere physical attraction. He was her confidant, her partner, and her rock, and she couldn’t imagine her life without him.

"So, what time would you like to visit your mother’s grave?" Rhys asked, breaking the tranquil moment. "Also, you don’t have a dress here. Would you like me to drive you home first? I’ll wait for you to change."

Beatrix turned to Rhys, a surge of love and appreciation filling her heart. "Thank you, Rhys. That means a lot to me. I would love to visit my mother’s grave today. And yes, I’ll need to change into something appropriate. Can we leave in about an hour?"

Rhys nodded, a warm smile adorning his face. "Of course, Beatrix. Let’s take a shower first. We can grab breakfast on our way."

With a sense of anticipation, Beatrix followed him into the bathroom, feeling a shiver of excitement run down her spine as she caught sight of the large, luxurious shower. As they stepped under the warm water, her worries and fears melted away. Rhys’ hands roamed over her body, caressing her skin and igniting waves of pleasure within her. She leaned back, finding solace in his strong arms wrapped around her waist.

"You know, Beatrix," Rhys whispered, his breath hot against her ear, "you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. And it’s not just about your appearance. You have a heart of gold, and I feel incredibly lucky to have you in my life."

Beatrix turned to him, gazing deeply into his dark, mesmerizing eyes. "Rhys, you’re too good to me. I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve you."

Rhys smiled, gently brushing a strand of hair away from her face. "You don’t have to do anything, Beatrix. Just be yourself. That’s more than enough for me."

Overwhelmed with emotion, Beatrix leaned in, kissing Rhys passionately. They broke apart, both breathless and exhilarated.

Rhys grinned mischievously. "I think we should step out of the shower now before we forget what we’re supposed to be doing."

Beatrix giggled, a lightness filling her spirit that she hadn’t experienced in a long time. Together, they finished getting ready and stepped out into the embrace of the morning light.

Stopping at a small café, they ordered coffee and pastries. Beatrix savored each sip, feeling a comforting warmth spreading through her body. Rhys leaned over, placing a gentle kiss on her cheek, and she couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of contentment.
