The Sweetest Temptation
Chapter 164: Caving(2)

Chapter 164: Caving(2)

She didn’t think she had ever seen anyone show so much hate and anger than the man standing before her.

When it finally clears up, the two brown orbs glower down at her, "Now we’re even, though yours won’t heal before you die," he snarled at her, tossing the dagger away, taking hold of her neck.

Alina couldn’t speak, her voice lost as she tried to draw a breath, choking on her words.

"Do you want to see my handy work? I have created such a masterpiece on your face."

Damien taunted as he let go of her. Walking to the table he brought a mirror.

Alina lowered her head avoiding looking inside the mirror at all cost. She couldn’t bear to see her face destroyed. She probably looked like a monster right now.

The only reason anyone has ever paid her little attention ever since she was young was because she was beautiful.

Her father hadn’t gotten rid of her all this while because she possessed something he wanted, something he knew he could use—her beauty.

Now she had nothing! He had stripped her of the one thing that made her relevant.

He grabbed her hair and she winced as he forced her head up.

But still Alina refused to stare at her reflection in the mirror. She couldn’t bare to see what she had become. She didn’t think she could withstand the blow.

"Tsk, tsk, open your eyes Alina. Unless you don’t want to use it again. I can remove them for you so you don’t have to stare at your ugly face everyday. I’m such a gentleman right? That’s why you love me so much."

Damien laughed, tightly his grip on her hair.

"Open, I don’t have all day. Your nanny.."

Alina opened her eyes at the mention of her nanny’s name. She screamed out when she saw her reflection in the mirror.

Her face was a mass of cuts and bruises, the skin torn and ripped apart, the wounds oozing with blood and pus. Her once beautiful features were unrecognizable, distorted beyond recognition. Her eyes were swollen and red, her nose broken and crooked, her lips split and bleeding.

Alina couldn’t believe what she was seeing. She felt sick to her stomach, overwhelmed with a sense of horror and despair. She had never imagined that anyone could inflict such pain and suffering on another human being.

She closed her eyes, unable to bear the sight any longer. Tears streamed down her face, mingling with the blood and sweat on her skin. She felt like she was drowning, suffocating under the weight of her own despair.

But even in the midst of her agony, Alina refused to give up. She knew that she had to keep fighting, to hold on to whatever shred of hope she could find. She couldn’t let Damien destroy her spirit as well as her face.

With a deep breath, Alina opened her eyes again, this time focusing on her reflection in the mirror. She didn’t flinch or look away, despite the pain and horror of what she saw. Instead, she stared into her own eyes, searching for a glimmer of strength and resilience.

Darkness and madness brewing inside her. He was going to pay dearly for this.

"What? You’re going to get revenge on me? That would only happen if you leave her alive Alina. And we both know that isn’t going to happen. Ah wait, on second thought..."

Damien’s lips curved into a mischievous smirk, "I’m going to let you live.

You’re going to be miserable alone, no one would love an ugly duckling like you. After I’m done with you, you’re going to wish I had killed you."

Alina clenched her fist. "I’m..going.. to fucking...kill...you!!!!" She screamed out in rage.

"Well that’s why I’m going to cut off these fingers of yours."

Damien trailed a line across a knuckles. Alina shivered. Fear gnawed at her. He was truly wicked.

She should have known better but she had thought because they had a history he wouldn’t be so cruel with her.

He would just play with her.

"Damien—-" She trailed off her voice filled with tremors.

Damien stopped and looked at her.

"Hmm?? Do you want to say any last words? I have told you I’m not going to kill you so there is no need for that."

Alina shook her head aggressively.

"Don’t do this.... Spare me. I can help you. We can conquer everything together. Together we will be on top of the pyramid. Don’t you want that? Don’t you want to bring your cousins down?"

Damien shrugged, "I won’t stop at the top of the pyramid. Sooner or later, I’ll have the whole fucking thing."

Alina panicked she needed to get him to listen

"No..."

"What can you possibly do for me Alina? Your beauty is your only weapon and now you’re ugly. You’re nothing and there is nothing you can do for me."

He strode towards the table containing the knives and various torturing devices.

"No...I’m not useless! I-I-still beautiful...you can’t take my beauty away! You’re the ugly one Damien not me...no..no"

Damien raised his brows as he stared at her.

"I’m still beautiful...I’m still beautiful...no one can take that away from me...my face, my face...I can’t destroy it...I won’t let you...I’ll show them all..."

Her voice rose to a fever pitch, and she started to struggle against the bound trying to break free.

She was in a frenzy, lost in her own delusions.

"Sigh...I guess I have to put you in a psychiatric institution after I’m done with you."

"Putting her in a psychiatric hospital is a bad idea. We can send her all disfigured and an empty shell to her father. I’m sure he misses his precious daughter." Rhys walked inside the room, striding towards Damien without even sparing Alina a glance.

"Hmm, great idea. We can also arrange that." Damien’s lips curled up.

Alina screamed frantically but they didn’t pay her any attention.
