 I returned to my base after successfully finishing my hunt. It was fun to use a diverse set of skills. Each of them has its advantages and disadvantages, and the best part of being a sorcerer is that I have to consider when to use them.

 I can't thank Lesser Ratman enough for his help. He was the best target for my test shots for each skill, and it also helped me understand the performance.

 I'm planning to keep on hunting to increase my level.

Speaking of hunting, I got something that looks like a rare gem. Here it is.

Demon Stone Quality: Rubbish

 Rarity: C

 This stone was produced within the body of a demon.

 It absorbs and accumulates the magical power of its surroundings.

 Absorption efficiency is proportional to the quality, and the maximum magic power is proportional to rarity.

Even though it looks similar to a battery because of its lowest quality and rarity, it is nothing but a scrapped rock than a useful magical one.

'Well, I'm not going to throw it away. It might come in handy later.'

 I'm thankful that the [Appraisal] level has been increased to view detailed information on less rare items, too. But I'm afraid that I won't be able to see the rarest items for a while.

 It is enough to confirm the results of the hunt. It will take some time for my magic to recover, and until then, I'll continue reading a book. There are still several introductory books left. So, let's take a look at the "Introduction to the Art of Summoning."

I see. It seems that the [Summoning Technique] in FSW is a little bit special.

My first assumption was that a 'being' summoned by [Summoning Technique] is called a Summoned Beast. Since Summons are not counted as part of the party, you can summon as many as you like, but your maximum magic power is limited while you perform the technique. To be more specific, the same amount of magic power used to summon the creature gets deducted from the maximum amount of magic power you have.

 Secondly, the strength of the summoned creature is proportional to the level of the summoning technique and the amount of magic power used for it. So if you are stingy with your magic power, you will only be able to summon a small fly.

'Well, that's to be expected.'

 Thirdly, the type of summoned beast is not based on the level of the summoning technique but only on the beasts and demons that the practitioner has encountered earlier. In addition, some demons are not summonable, so there is only a mere chance that the demon turns out to be compatible with one's summoning techniques

 Fourth, there are three ways to raise your [Summoning Technique] level. The first is to use [Summoning Technique] repeatedly, the second is to keep the summoned beast without sending it back. And the third is to win the battle without leaving the summoned beast behind. In short, it is all about using [Summoning Technique] well.

Finally, and this is the most important one, it seems that you can give your summoned beasts attributes if you have some attribute magic. Although it requires more magic power, it is very useful to call in an ally who can always gain an advantage over your opponent.

 And let's not misunderstand, the art of Summoning is only the art of summoning a servant. The summoned beast has only a simple AI that obeys simple commands and does not grow. If you want to have a beast or demon as a companion, you should follow it with the [Training] ability skill. The more you fight with them and deepen your bond, the more they will grow.

 I never thought that I could summon only my kind. Well, the only other demon I've encountered besides myself is the Lesser Rat Man.

 According to the textbook, some of my magical power spreads from my body when I chant for summon. And slowly, it turned into a blackish moving skeleton in front of me.

Hmmm. The magic power consumed was only 10%, so it will be weaker than me,

But, no worries,  I'll take it with me on my next hunt.

Hmm, my magic power has decreased since I used the summoning technique. I think I should read another book until I recover fully.

 What should I read next? "well-understood grant technique" or "Make and use Convenient magic tools"?

"Make and use convenient magic tools" seems interesting.

I decided to read "Make and use convenient magic tools".

I want to test whatever I learned from it on my next hunt.

I don't care what I call it, but the writer could have done something better about the name of this DIY guidebook...?

'Magic tools are very interesting. A magic tool can activate magic with the magic power contained in a magic stone. As long as you have this and a magic stone, you can use magic without having any magic ability skills. And I'm sure some tools that are useful in combat are not listed in this book.'

 However, as I read on, I learned for the first time that the ability skills of [magic circle] and [crafting] are required to make a magic tool. The process of using a magic tool includes transferring the magic power of the stone through the magic circle drawn on the base. The stone is the fuel, and the magic circle is like the engine.

 'Well, it's a good thing I read this book first. Thanks to this book, I've come up with a way to practice. I'll try it out as soon as I get back from hunting.'

 'Now, let's go hunting with the summoned beast!'

 The growth of my ability skills is going well, and the only problem I have is my low level in [Summoning] which prevents me from summoning beasts.

 This moving skeleton has five ability skills. They are light vulnerability, blow vulnerability and darkness. It might be my dumb guess, but I think the phrase "gets stronger with each level of Summoning" in "Introduction to Summoning" might mean "can add ability skills with each level of Summoning".

I'll give it a try when I get back.

 I'd like to pay more attention to the fact that summoned beasts don't have [Covert] or [Stealthy Foot]. Because of this, there is a huge possibility for surprise attacks to fail. I didn't realize that the increase in manpower would negatively impact me like this. I thought I could easily go against the two Lesser Ratmen, but it seems like I will be in more danger if I am alone.

It's frustrating, but I'll have to be patient until my [Summoning Technique] level rises. Until then, I'll have to continue the battle with my slow-footed servant. This time, too, I'll return only if my magic power drops to around half.

[Earth magic] The level has increased.

[Fire Magic] The level has increased.

[Wind Magic] The level has increased.

[Magic] The level has increased.

I got hit. My body was down, but I was not defeated yet.

Oh, that was close! I never thought of encountering a surprise attack by three Lesser Ratmen!

Since they attacked me while shouting, I could defend myself instead of taking damage and counterattack in time.

 It was a blessing in disguise to acquire the second magical stone, but the summoned beast was quite exhausted by the combat. It would be better to send it back and summon a new one before going on the next hunt.

Let me try appraisal on the item I got from the defeat.

The results of the appraisal are as follows.

Magic lamp Quality: Inferior Rarity: C

A type of magic tool.

By setting a magic stone, a light attribute is generated.

The strength changes according to the magic stone's quality.

  The lamp seems useless since I have [night vision]. I don't think I'll ever need a lamp for reading or working again.

 But that's not what I was checking. This lamp emits light of the order of genus and sex. I wondered if it would be able to give me slight light damage?

 If so, I may gradually overcome my weaknesses while reading. If that happens, the day when I will use light magic will be much closer.

"Uh,  let's put the magic stone in here... okay."

"Activate."

 I immediately put in the magic stone from Lesser Rat Man and activated the lamp. And then, although it was as dim as the light of a firefly, the light generated by the magic power did indeed light up the room.

Let's take a look at the ability skills I've acquired.

There has been an improvement in physical abilities and resistance to attributes, but it is also necessary to give special effects to weapons and armor. It is the magic required for using a weapon like a sword with fire properties.

 This is also the same as [Summoning]; if you want to give some attribute, you need to use that attribute. However, if you're going to create armor, you can use the magic circle.

The [magic circle] is the essence of strengthening all kinds of magic. It is not just that you can draw or carve a magic circle on an object to create a magical tool or armor with a [Granting Technique], but that's only one part of the effect. It is not an exaggeration to say that it is a skill for combat.

 However, there is a problem with this too. It consumes extra magic power when deploying the formation. The increase in magic consumption means a decrease in the ability to continue fighting and by raising the ability skills, it can be mitigated.

But raising the level will be very difficult.

 In addition to this, the only magic that has already been acquired can draw magic circles. Anyone with magic power can use the fireball magic circle, but only those who can use the magic can draw the fireball magic circle.

 I've logged into the game for a long time. Let's take a break.

Oh, yeah. The official website says that if a player logs out in bed or a tent, his/her avatar will remain there until you re-login. It should be the same inside the base. If that's the case, let's leave it like this. I'd like to earn some experience for the [light attribute vulnerability].
