Chapter 93: Let’s See the Newcomers

But wait—what did she mean earlier? That nothing belonging to Coastelle shall be destroyed?

I asked, and she sprang up, adorably, with a smile.

Then, without warning, she turned to Bina and extended her hand again—energy building fast, dangerous—and Bina started breathing hard like she was about to take a cannon to the face.

"Wait! Wait! Wait!!" I jumped in front of Bina to barricade her.

"What are you trying to do?!" I asked Flora, panic rising in my voice.

She looked confused again.

"Huh? I wanted to kill her."

That is not the kind of thing you expect to hear from a ten-year-old!

Terrifying! Absolutely terrifying!!

"W-why?" I stammered, already feeling a migraine brewing. "I told you she wasn’t an enemy!"

The headache was hitting full force now, and Bina’s lack of protest wasn’t helping either.

Turns out, Flora just wanted to demonstrate how Coastelle revives anything that gets destroyed—as long as it’s something the realm recognizes as a resident.

So Bina was literally a guinea pig.

Even if that’s true, it’s way too dangerous! What if Coastelle didn’t recognize Bina as a resident yet?

But don’t get me wrong: I’m not saying I don’t trust Flora; I’m just saying I don’t trust her.

{Master, you are contradicting yourself.}

*

Whatever. Let’s just wrap this up already.

Levi mentioned she had something important to show me tomorrow.

That’s fine, I guess.

I’ve got something for them too. Except I need to see it for myself first.

I scanned the area, found a half-destroyed, throne-shaped piece of tree, and walked toward it with Flora in my arms.

It’s probably Flora’s throne, but whatever; I’m apparently her Papa, besides.

I sat down, placed her on my lap, and casually played with her hair. It was perfect.

My villain boss look—complete.

Bina stepped up beside me like the loyal underling she was pretending not to enjoy being.

Flora, still sitting calmly, shifted into that eerie indifference again.

Perfect tone. Perfect look.

Alright then...

I’m ready, Platform.

(Let’s see the newcomers.)

{Understood, Master.}

The familiar swirl of darkness emerged—thick, heavy with magic, like flames woven from shadow.

And soon enough, figures stepped out.

A handful were humanoid... but the majority were unmistakably specter wolves.

"Oh? It’s you," Bina said, perking up.

Huh? It’s who—

Ah?!

"You again?!"

THE NEXT DAY

Everyone had gathered close to the igloo-like house I made.

Turns out, it was somewhere near the center of Coastelle.

By the way, I barely got any sleep last night. I was attacked many times by a "sleep walking" Levi.

And even then, that strange dream came back again—the one where I’m trapped in a dark mass, like being sealed in a giant pot of void. And around me, cries of pain and agony echoed.

If the author thinks this is a clever way to force a redemption arc he better pick a new route.

Ever since I arrived in Pison, the dream’s been on repeat. And it’s starting to mess with me.

Will I continue to have such dreams?

Many I’ll have to say goodbye...

Sigh...

There goes my sleeping privilege...

Anyway. Back to now.

I’d called everyone together for something important.

I stood on an elevated platform made of stone and earth, looking down at my followers.

Alicia and Levi were both glaring up at me, seething with something ugly, like they’d caught me cheating on them, or something.

Tamayō, oddly enough, was behaving herself.

Oh yeah—somehow Alicia had clothes now. probably from the Specter Summons’ creation ability.

It was a cute dress with subtle frills and puffed sleeves, the kind worn in Gihon—somewhere between prim and cheeky, with a clean blouse tucked under suspenders that held up a pleated skirt.

A noble’s daughter, at the end of the day.

Levi was also dressed... though I can’t say for what purpose.

A single piece of cloth clung to her torso, barely tied together at the front with lazy strings—doing nothing to hide how much of her chest wasn’t covered.

And the "skirt" she wore? Handkerchiefs.

Let’s call them Handkerchiefs.

Just two strips of Handkerchiefs draped at her sides. The rest was a mesh-like net wrapped tightly from her thighs down to her calves, clinging like it had something to prove.

They were both in heels.

Because, of course.

Wait. How did Levi even get that type of fashion?

Alicia’s influence, maybe.

Tamayō was in those Eastern-style robes—black, tied with a wide sash at the waist, and worn just low enough to show off her chest.

She looked like a seductive empress, really.

Anyway, let’s ignore them like the peace-loving monk I am.

"Uhm, sorry to disturb your morning like this," I began, hands raised in mock apology. "But I have something—well, some people—to show you all."

I turned to the small, green bundle of nervous cuteness beside me.

She took a step forward, barely, avoiding the burning gazes from Levi and her gang.

"This is Flora—"

"No. I refuse to consent to this," Alicia cut me off.

"Ehh?! Why though?!" I cried.

"I mean, look at her!" Alicia pointed at the now terrified girl. "She is so indecent! She is obviously trying to seduce you, Ruby!"

No, your companions are trying to seduce me. And they’re failing miserably.

"Hmph." Tamayō folded her arms. "To feel threatened by such a little girl, Alicia... are you not too paranoid?"

"I am not!" Alicia barked. "I know how these things end! She is acting pure for now, but just wait—when she finds the right chance, Ruby would probably announce another baby!"

Alicia...has a wild imagination.

...And she basically just called me a pedophile.

I am offended.

Flora looked like she was about to cry.

Her whole body shrank, and for the first time I wondered if this was the scary woman she mentioned yesterday.

I had asked her why she hadn’t come to meet us and she’d said, "There’s a scary woman there."

I thought she meant Tamayō. Or Levi.

Apparently not.

"You are too naive, Tamayō," Levi said, finally stepping in. Her yellow eyes narrowed, sharp as blades.
