Chapter 63: Chapter 63 I Want to Borrow Some Money from You
Gu Qili felt that he was being sarcastic, so she jutted out her chin and thrust her chest forward forcefully, "How can that not be? Don’t I know my own body?"
He lifted his thin lips slightly without agreeing or disagreeing and turned to pay, but Gu Qili always felt that his deep, dark eyes were filled with mischief.
She looked down at her breasts and murmured in a low voice, "Not there?"
This man was just like that; even if you were very sure about something, his mere words or a glance could make you feel quite insecure.
"Here is the style and size you wanted, all packed up," the sales clerk handed over a delicate bag. Of course, Mu Shuoqian wouldn’t carry a bag himself, so Gu Qili quickly took it, thanking her.
Even after returning to Jingshan, she still felt the pinch over the cost of those two pieces of clothing.
She only wanted to buy an undergarment for a change of clothes, but ended up bringing home two buckets of gold. All her savings weren’t even enough to pay for the clothes.
She had the capability to stop him in the store, but when she realized that he fancied the same style as she did, she felt a sense of kinship and her head heated up, forgetting all else. Now thinking back, the reason he was so familiar with the process must be because he often bought undergarments for women before.
Gu Qili took out her little account book and flipped through it, seeing the pitiful balance, she suddenly wished for the end of the world to come.
After reading a book in the room for a while, she took her cup to get some water.
In the living room, Mu Shuoqian was sitting on the sofa reading a magazine, with a freshly unwrapped package on the coffee table, its shipping address written as Paris, France.
Gu Qili found his cup, poured water into it, and holding it with both hands, she presented it to him with a beaming smile, "Please, have some water."
Mu Shuoqian raised his head from the pages, glanced at her indifferently, her clear, black and white big eyes shone brightly, even more captivating under the crystalling light.
He idly diverted his gaze and continued flipping through the magazine.
"Do you want some fruit? I’ll go and cut some."
Soon, Gu Qili energetically returned with a plate of fruit, having prepared even a small fork for eating the fruit.
Leaning down, she noticed that he was reading a fashion magazine, something she never knew Mu Shuoqian was interested in, considering all his clothes were invariably black or white.
Mu Shuoqian kept his attitude of ignoring her as if she didn’t exist at all, quietly flipping through the pages alone.
Gu Qili sat opposite him, bored, watching him attentively as the magazine slowly thinned.
Eventually, she couldn’t keep her cool any longer. She moved closer to him pleasingly, "I want to discuss something with you."
He was still focused on the magazine, but spared her a tiny bit of attention, his tone so indifferent as if speaking three words was a waste of energy, "What is it?"
Gu Qili had given it a lot of thought before deciding to ask for his help. With him, accounts were the best to settle—there were no personal feelings involved, only transactions.
"I want to borrow some money from you." She carefully watched his expression, but his face was without a ripple.
His dark eyes lifted to look at her: "How much?"
Gu Qili quickly held up two fingers, blinking her eyes.
"Two million?"
"..." To these rich people, it seemed the word ’small amount’ didn’t exist.
She shook her head: "Twenty thousand."
"Didn’t I give you a card?"
"You said that it was for household use, and I record every expense so that you can verify the account later."
Finally, Mu Shuoqian put down the magazine, closed it, and laid it on the coffee table, casually pulling out a cigarette, "I can lend you the money, but there is a condition."
