Chapter 190: Chapter 180 You Can Leave Now_2
And what he was listening to attentively was that perfectly smooth and round voice, his eyebrows rising bit by bit in response to that voice, while his other hand gently patted the dog beside him.
"Hey, Pug, did you hear that, this voice?"
The Pug, looking bored, tucked in his head, not making a sound, seemingly accustomed to his master’s monologues.
After listening in this manner for a good while, the woman beside him finally couldn’t take it anymore and shook his arm coquettishly: "Master Tang, won’t you buy me some flowers? I think the tulips that woman just bought are really pretty."
The voice outside the car window had already vanished, as if a captivating piece of music had abruptly come to an end. Master Tang’s complexion suddenly turned cold, glancing at the beautiful woman, and said coldly, "Annie, you can get lost now."
The woman was startled for a moment.
"I said you can get lost," he said, beginning to rest with his eyes closed, his cold profile exuding an icy aloofness.
The woman knew his temper, clenched her teeth, opened the door, and got out of the car. But just as the door was barely open, the Pug, which had been very lazy, suddenly jumped up from the seat. Its clumsy body burst with the energy of a sprinter, and it vanished in a flash.
"Pug," Master Tang bolt up, blowing a whistle, but the Pug paid him no heed, its chubby body racing away in a flash.
"Master Tang, I’ll go chase it," the driver immediately hopped out of the car, and the man in the passenger seat also hurried to help.
The woman still stood there dumbly, as if realizing the magnitude of the trouble she’d caused, trembling with fear.
Everyone knew that Master Tang loved raising dogs, and this seemingly fierce-looking Pug was his favorite. If they could find it, that would be one thing, but if they couldn’t, she would be the one to face misfortune.
Seeing that she was still standing there without leaving, Master Tang shot her a cold glare. Witnessing this, the woman quickly picked up her purse and vanished in a flash.
One hour later, the two men chasing the dog returned; one had a scar on his left face and the other had a scar on his right face, both perfectly symmetrical in position and length.
They were two of Master Tang’s underlings, one named Xiong Da and the other Xiong Er.
Xiong Da scratched his head, not daring to look at Master Tang’s face: "We’ve searched nearby, but we can’t find the young Pug."
"Useless fools, send more people to look. If you can’t find it, you might as well move into the dog kennel!" He was in a very bad mood, having lost his favorite dog; no one could be cheerful then.
Xiong Da quickly nodded in agreement.
Not fearing death, Xiong Er muttered softly, "Master Tang, that woman’s name is Lisa, not Annie. Annie was your woman from last month."
Master Tang’s face blindness had acted up again; this woman had stayed by his side for a week, and yet he still got it wrong.
"Courting death," Master Tang glared at him.
Xiong Er quickly shrank his head back.
When he looked back at the entrance of the flower shop, her figure was already gone. All he could remember was her holding a large bunch of tulips, wearing a white shirt with jeans, her back to him, her long ponytail swaying.
"Master Tang, where to now?" Xiong Er, having stepped on a landmine, asked tentatively.
"Go find Chen Jiu."
She had just been with Chen Jiu; finding Chen Jiu would let him know who she was.
"Chen Jiu?" Xiong Da hesitated, "Master Tang, we’ve just taken over his casino, is it appropriate to look for him now?"
Master Tang shot him a cold look, and Xiong Da immediately drove on without protest.
Shortly after the car started, they heard the man in the backseat muttering to himself, "Annie? Which one is Annie?"
Xiong Da and Xiong Er exchanged glances. Damn, the face blindness was flaring up again.

Gu Qili went to the nearby supermarket and bought some groceries. Having been away these past few days, there wasn’t much left in the fridge.
On her way home, she needed to pass through a small garden, where normally a few elders could be spotted dancing. But today, it was desolately void of people.
"Woof, woof."
Precisely because of this quietness, the faint sound of a dog barking stood out clearly.
Gu Qili, curious, peered into the bushes from where the sound was coming, shifting the bag in her hand to the other and parted the bushes in front of her.
On a pile of fallen leaves, a fawn-colored little dog was watching her with wary eyes. It was pretty ugly with wrinkled skin, a black face, a fat body, and a somewhat fierce look when it gazed at people.
However, Gu Qili wasn’t intimidated by it at all. Instead, she squatted down and smiled at it: "Little darling, are you lost? Where’s your owner?"
The Pug looked at her; perhaps it was the charming warmth of her smile that made it let its guard down a bit.
Upon closer inspection, Gu Qili noticed a tuft of round white hair on its back, as if someone had stamped it there.
"You must be hungry. I’ve got some food here." Gu Qili hurriedly put the flowers on a nearby flower bed and took out a piece of bread she just bought from her tote, offering a piece to the Pug. It didn’t even sniff, arrogantly lifting its head.
"Don’t you like bread?" Gu Qili scratched her head, rummaging through her bag, but she couldn’t find anything else suitable to feed it.
"Then, can you wait here for a bit? I’ll go back and get you some meat," Gu Qili carefully extended her hand, slowly approaching it, and patted its frowning head, "Wait for me, okay?"
Seeing her walking away, the Pug poked its head halfway out of the bushes, gazing curiously.
Gu Qili rushed home, hastily put away her things, took out a tin of meat from the fridge, and dashed out again, brightly spirited.
Mu Shuoqian had just come out to use the toilet and noticed her bustling departure, frowning slightly.
What’s the hurry, what if she falls?
Gu Qili returned to the flower bed, and to her surprise, the Pug was still squatting there, not having moved.
"You’re really well-behaved," she thought it had run away by now, "I’ll open the can for you right now."
The meat tin was fragrant, but the Pug still ignored it, seemingly without the slightest bit of interest.
Gu Qili, who had never kept a dog, was at a loss. It didn’t touch grains or meat—what on earth did it want to eat?
