Chapter 92: Seal The Deal With A Kiss
Chapter 92: Seal The Deal With A Kiss
Logan’s legal team stood off to the side, murmuring among themselves, while the three official witnesses looked visibly stunned at Jean’s appearance. His family... his mother, his sister, his father... stood from their seats as soon as they saw him, relief on their faces shifting into worry when they saw Jean.
But Logan didn’t waver.
He walked straight ahead with Jean, ignoring the looks, the hushed whispers, the silent questions hanging in the air.
Jean’s knees buckled slightly midway, and Logan tightened his grip around her waist, whispering without looking at her, "I’ve got you. Just lean on me."
She did.
At the front of the room, the marriage registrar cleared his throat, blinking nervously.
"Are... are the couple ready to begin the legal proceedings?"
Logan gave a sharp nod. Jean gave a firmer one.
The pens were laid out.
The documents were placed.
And even though her hands shook slightly, Jean picked up the pen first. The room held its breath.
Taking a deep breath... She signed her name.
Then Logan stepped forward and did the same, his signature bold, firm... decisive.
When it was done, the registrar stamped the document.
"It’s official," he announced. "Mr. and Mrs. Kingsley... are now legally married."
No applause. Except for Logan’s family and Jean’s witnesses.
Just silence.
Because what everyone had witnessed wasn’t just a marriage.
It was a declaration of rebellion.

The weight of silence still hung thick in the air. No one knew what to say or how to react. All eyes were on the newlyweds... on Jean, with her bruised face and defiant stance, and on Logan, whose expression was unreadable, guarded behind a mask of calm intensity.
But it was Jean who spoke first.
She straightened her spine... despite the pain and faced the room of shareholders, directors, and family with steely grace.
"There’s something I need to announce."
A murmur rippled through the crowd. Logan glanced at her, eyes narrowing. She’s doing it.
Jean continued, her voice clear and unwavering.
"As many of you know, my late grandfather’s will holds a clause regarding female descendants of the Adams family." She paused, letting the weight of her words settle. "When a woman of the family marries, her shares in the Adams Corporation are to be transferred to her legal husband."
Gasps. Some were audible. Others hidden behind shocked expressions.
Emma sighed, she was prepared for this. But Henry froze.
Jean’s gaze swept across the room, locking eyes with the senior shareholders who once doubted her authority, who sought to control her decisions and influence her vote.
"I have now legally married Mr. Logan Kingsley," she said firmly. "And by law... and by legacy... my shares are to be transferred to him, effective immediately."
The silence shattered.
"No, wait... this is outrageous!"
"This wasn’t in our agenda..."
"You’re handing control to him?!"
The directors erupted, some standing from their chairs in protest, others pulling out phones to check the legality of what they just heard.
Jean turned to Logan, whose expression was no longer unreadable. He looked at her with a flash of realization, admiration... and something deeper. Something fiercer.
She didn’t need to say it aloud, but the message was clear...
I’ve done it.
From this moment on, Logan Kingsley held a permanent position in the Adams Corporation... as a shareholder, as a director, as a king standing beside a queen who refused to bow.
And no one could stop them.
The room was still echoing with the gasps and angry mutters of shareholders and stunned family members when Logan leaned in close, his lips brushing Jean’s ear.
"We need to show them we’re serious about this," he whispered, his voice low, calm, and commanding.
Jean’s brows furrowed. "How? We already signed the agreement. What more do they need?"
Logan pulled back just enough to meet her eyes. A slow, knowing smirk curved his lips. "Something they can’t dispute... something that will shut every mouth in this room."
Before she could ask again, his hands came up, firm yet gentle, cupping her bruised face with reverence. Her breath hitched as the room around them faded into a blurred background of murmurs and stares.
And then...
He placed a kiss on her forehead.
A soft, meaningful gesture.
Jean’s eyes widened. Her body tensed in instinct... but then melted under the sincerity of that moment. Her shoulders dropped, her muscles relaxed, and she looked up at him... this time not with fear, not with confusion... but with a reluctant feeling she can’t put a name on.
Her lips parted to say something, but Logan moved first. He tilted her chin, guiding her gaze to his, and lowered his head.
His lips brushed hers. Slowly sucking on her bottom lip and then her upper... so slowly that he forgot where he was for a moment.
Warm. Steady. Unapologetically real.
The room fell into stunned silence. The kiss wasn’t forced. It wasn’t for show. It was something else entirely for Jean. She couldn’t believe that a man’s touch could also be delicate.
When he finally pulled back, Logan’s eyes didn’t leave hers. "Now they’ll believe," he said softly.
Logan’s hand found Jean’s wrist with a deliberate gentleness, his touch firm enough to guide, soft enough not to hurt. Without another word, he led her out of the registrar’s room, his expression unreadable.
Behind them, murmurs erupted again. The legal team swiftly moved in as Logan gave them a nod... his silent order clear... Handle the rest.
Jean blinked, still disoriented, as they stepped into the quieter hallway. "Where are we going?" she asked, her voice slightly hoarse.
"To the hospital," Logan replied without glancing at her. "You took a serious hit. You need to get checked up."
Emma and Henry caught up to them, Emma hurriedly wrapping Jean’s coat back around her to shield the torn wedding dress and bruises from curious eyes. "Let’s not cause a scene," she whispered softly, buttoning the coat.
Jean groaned under her breath. "I hate hospitals... I don’t want to go."
Emma offered a gentle pat to her back. "I’ll be there with you, okay? You’re not going in alone."
Jean sighed, leaning subtly into Emma’s support.
Logan’s gaze dropped to Jean as they walked side by side. "I hope now that we’re married," he said in a low tone, "you’ll start relying on me more... and trusting my decisions."
Jean paused for a moment.
Rely on him?
