Chapter 139

Melisca continued to fight at the other side of the aisle. She saw that Carmen was down and the prince was hovering over her. She knew that she was the one the hunters were after, and if they still wanted her alive, then she’d take that as her advantage and risk their patience with her.

The hunters were moving closer to them. She ran away from her spot to lead them out of her allies’ direction.

Carmen stared at Zavien’s golden eyes. The beautiful, hot prince seemed determined to have her name. If it were on any other occasion when she was in the mood to flirt and he was another being, she could have jumped on him instead. But then, what more could she do if she felt like dying?

His white hair was touching the side of her face. She felt it tickling her skin. And his circlet crown was shining brightly on his forehead. It was screaming at her that he was a prince. Not anyone that she should tangle herself with. But she felt somewhat proud that the prince was asking for her.

"Rancem...hira." She revealed it at last.

"Rancemhira." Zavien repeated, and he swallowed hard, feeling the cold from his chest rise to his throat and come to his mouth. He propped his other hand on the floor to the other side of her face, and he slowly brought his face closer to her.

Carmen wasn’t prepared for what he was doing, but she knew it was coming. His face leaned closer and closer until their lips touched. Her eyes bulged.

The

fuck!He’stakingadvantageofme!

She forced her limbs to move. Even just an arm to push him away. But her body stayed still. She knew those Anti-Superno couldn’t kill her because she’s half human after all, but the bullet would take care of her life. But now, she was desperate to stay alive at all costs to kill this holy prince that was doing unholiness in her situation.

But as seconds passed by, his lips grazing at her made her feel soft and nimble. Okay. So, at least he wasn’t a lousy kisser. Her heartbeat was now raging thanks to him making her feel the surge of wanting to kill him at first.

Zavien wanted her to open up for him so that he could transfer his life essence to her. She was fighting it. He cupped her cheeks to make it sensual so that she’d allow him entry.

His lower lip was stung by her razor-sharp teeth. It was never a good experience to kiss someone who could use their mouth to rip through flesh. But he didn’t mind. He even grazed his tongue on it, and he felt the shift. From the sharp miniature weapons to even bones. Her teeth finally changed into those of a human.

Carmen kissed him back by letting his tongue in. She’d closed her eyes as she felt the pleasure not just from his lips but also from his hand. Her thoughts changed drastically. She would die happily then for having been kissed by a prince. Though it was ironic that in most fairy tales, the prince’s kiss would awaken the princess. But in her situation, she’d sleep forever.

She felt hot in her body, but the prince’s lips grew cold. He touched her face, like he was afraid that she’d move away or end their kiss. As if she could move. Then she was still for a second. She didn’t know when it happened, but she just realized that she was pulling him to her as well. One of her hands was at the back of his head to deepen their kiss.

Wow... Where did she get the strength left to make out on the floor with her blood pooling at her side and chaos all around?

Seriously. Her priorities were getting out of hand.

"Hey! Are you two done smooching over there?" Nesa called from the other side of the room. She could see them kissing behind the cabinets that were covering them. And there was a syringe sticking out from the prince’s shoulder.

But Nesa couldn’t withdraw her stare from the prince as his appearance changed.

Zavien was deaf from all the noises. He had to focus to avoid making any mistakes in the process of transference. He pushed his essence towards Carmen’s mouth, and then he pulled himself from her lips as he opened his eyes. He then closed a hand on Carmen’s lips so she wouldn’t reject what he’d given her.

Carmen’s eyes widen upon seeing the new person in front of her. His face was the same, his golden eyes were the same, but his hair and ears were different! He lost his glowing skin too! His white hair turned all black, and he had human ears.

She could have gasped in shock, but he had his hand on her mouth. She felt like there was a ball of ice in her mouth, and it sent chills all over her body.

"Swallow." He uttered as he stared at her with furrowed brows. His lips were forming a thin line, anticipating her to do so.

She didn’t know what it was, but she did swallow it.

Zavien followed the movement of her throat and removed his hand. He plucked out the syringe that struck him, and it rolled on the floor as he staggered backward. His back hit the cabinets. He had no strength left. None at all. He was panting for air as his body adjusted to withdrawing his essence. It would take time for his powers to recharge. Years for it after losing his energy.

Carmen’s body instantly got awakened as her heart thudded louder, and she tried to pull herself into a sitting position. She could feel the flow of power in her. It was soothing, but it hurt at the same time. She didn’t want to protest anymore. At least she could move, and her wound at the side healed.

She looked at the prince and moved closer to him. His knees weren’t able to lie straight because of the narrow space. His eyes looked droopy. She raised a hand to touch his face. And she snapped it back as she winced. His skin was searing hot. Even the air he was puffing through his lips.

"What did you do?" Her eyebrows almost met from how her face contorted in worry, confusion, and rage altogether.

"You’re the only one..." He coughed, and blood dripped from his mouth. He tapped a hand to his heart. It wouldn’t stop throbbing.

Carmen couldn’t explain what dread she was feeling for the life of the prince of elves. She’d truly blame herself if she wasn’t able to get them out alive.

"Who could get us out." He was even straining to talk. "The energy left would be enough." His voice doesn’t sound soothing anymore. It was alarming! And his glowing skin before totally died out. He looked all human. No. Not really. Considering that he had such a pretty face. He just felt like a human.
