Chapter 125: Chapter 124

Chapter 124

"The King let her?" His brows furrowed in disbelief. VLAD stands for the Vampire Law Agency Department. It was like the human’s law enforcement authorities. His half-sister is a VLAD agent. A police for the vampires.

Dravin snorted. "As if Father had an offspring that isn’t stubborn. She was the one who caught that rogue vampire."

"Make her stop working until we had the hunters under control with their poison." He said, teeth gritting for a warning.

Dravin pursed his lips. "And you think we didn’t try? Right now, I’m sure she was on her way to the capital. Ready to discuss a plan with other VLADs."

Zek clenched his eyes shut and ran a hand through his hair, though it was still neatly in place on top of his head. He exhaled loudly. "I’m going back to my country now." He tapped Dravin’s shoulder and walked past him, heading to the door.

"You aren’t staying?" Dravin asked. "You just came home, and you wouldn’t even stay until morning?" He sounded disappointed, though he didn’t want to be too obvious. He scoffed in disbelief.

Ezekiel turned around. "I have a lot to do with the pack and about this poison. Now is not the time to be lovey-dovey with you guys."

"And your mate?"

His eyes squinted, and he sauntered back to Dravin’s spot. His step was that of a predator. "What made you so certain that I found her?" He stopped in front of his brother.

"Your heartbeat says it all when I mentioned the word last time. I don’t know why you’re trying to keep it." Their voices were low, but the tension was rising in the air. "We don’t care who she is. But for what she is... Well..." He shrugged his shoulders. "It depends." He was the one tapping Zek’s shoulder now and gave it a light squeeze. "You better come clean sooner than later. Because after all, we’re still a family."

"You’re all out of it." He was about to turn around when Dravin spoke again.

"What should I expect? You didn’t even mention the hunters when we last saw each other. It could have been a great opportunity to share the information."

He automatically faced him back. "The hunter clan has been our enemy ever since. And you were walking around in daylight. It was daylight, Dravin!" The anger bubbled up inside him. Imagining the worry again when he saw him alone in the city. He inhaled sharply to make the cold air grace his lungs. "Do you understand that? Despite being royalty, you are not at your full potential. And... without any escort." He laughed sarcastically at his face. "How reckless can you be? So, despite them having a poison or not, you are bound to take them seriously. We are just ageless. Not invincible."

Those were his last words before he exited himself out of the office, and he approached the nearest window. He was on the second floor of the castle, and the distance to the ground was not a problem to them. He jumped out of the window, wanting to avoid bumping into his parents, especially his father, if he sauntered in the corridor.

He landed perfectly in a crouch. The keepers below were surprised at his sudden appearance. They were guarding all around the castle.

"Your Highness." They bowed at him.

"Don’t mind me." He waved them off, and then he was gone. He swiftly ran to his men.

In just a few seconds, he was now standing in front of the car. A vampire driver that fetched them from the airport appeared. He opened the car door for them.

It was almost an hour for the drive to the airport. And that made Ezekiel gather his thoughts and think for his next move. He wouldn’t trust talking to his Beta and Gamma by the phone with the vampire around. He would report to the king on what he was doing. He decided to call them when they were dropped off.

When they reached the airport, Zek sensed for any supernatural around. It was clear, and he tapped on his phone on the way to his private jet that was waiting for them.

"Alpha? You know what time it is, right? I’m not really a nocturnal being like you." Argon groaned in the other line. His groggy voice was too thick.

"I’m going straight to her. Send the blueprint file on my computer to the company. And listen carefully, Argon. I want you to move your ass up and inform all the pack leaders about the hunter’s threat after this call." Then he hung up and contacted his general.

"Yes, Alpha?" Gandolf’s voice sounded alert. There was no hint of sleepiness in it. "Is everything fine?"

"I commanded Argon to spread the news of the hunter’s threat to all the packs. Gandolf, work closely with the other pack rangers. Tell them about the current situation and not to do any stupid moves. Don’t tell them yet about the cure. I don’t want to get their hopes up yet. Not until it’s successful. Do you understand?"

"Roger that, Alpha King."

"Good. Prioritize the safety of our people as always. I’ll leave that to you for now. I’m going to get her before they do." Zek wasn’t feeling any relief, not until he had her by his side. Now that the other races were on alert about the hunters, they were getting to another new unexpected discovery. He wouldn’t be surprised that they would send their own people to hunt for the hunters’ headquarters despite his warning. So, before they could get even a whiff of her, he had to get her out.

"You do that, Alpha. Be extra careful."

Zek ended the call as they stepped up on the jet. When they were inside, he called for them to seat in front of him.

The flight attendant approached them but he told her to leave them alone for a minute. She’s a human he trusted so she wouldn’t be hearing anything out of earshot.

"Gunther, Drasco." He leaned forward to the edge of the seat. The two looked at him with sharpness and ready to take on any of his words. "We’re not going home yet. When we reach the place that we’re going, I’d want you to follow every command that I say. No questions. No hesitations. Just actions."

The two exchanged glances for a second and nodded their heads in unison. "Yes, Alpha King."

"But can we know where we are headed, Alpha?" Drasco asked curiously.

"To Dhasma City."

To her.
