The Return Of the Invincible Heiress -
Chapter 134
Chapter 134: Chapter 134
Linda was stunned by Avery’s appearance and actions. She had never returned to Rosemont City after marriage, nor did she contact anyone she knew. The photos on her Facebook had all been photoshopped.
How did Avery find these photos and my marriage certificate in just a few days? How am I supposed to act? she thought.
She could only cry and scream, "My family owes over four hundred thousand dollars! My father is seriously ill. My elder brother wants to get married and buy a house. My younger brother’s business is losing money. I have no choice..."
"Shut up!" This was the first time Avery had cursed so loudly. "You’re lying again! At that time, your mother told you that Bush was not in good health but was very lecherous. He had to take medicine for a long time and might not last for a few years. If you marry him, it won’t be long before you inherit millions of dollars. It won’t be too late for you to marry Jaden then.
And now? Bush married you for less than three years, but because he overindulged himself, he played himself to death..."
Jaden couldn’t help but laugh when he heard this. He looked at Avery with admiration and said, "Avery, you’re really amazing. You even found out such a funny story!"
Avery raised her chin proudly and replied, "If she doesn’t want others to know, then she shouldn’t do it! Whoever dares to bully you—I’ll let them know how powerful I am!"
"You are indeed very powerful," Jaden said, patting her head. "Thank you."
When Linda saw this scene, she was extremely sad. Her face turned pale. "Jaden, please trust me," she pleaded. "At that time, my father was lying on the hospital bed and said that if I didn’t marry Bush, he wouldn’t undergo surgery..."
"Linda, stop talking." Jaden’s gaze turned cold. "I don’t have any feelings for you anymore. If you continue to pester me like this, don’t blame me for being rude to you."
When Linda met his cold eyes, she was shocked. She stammered, "We’ve been in a relationship for seven years... Are you going to hurt my love for you?"
Jaden had always been calm and responsible. He was rarely impulsive, but when he lost his temper, it was terrifying. Linda felt a pang of fear.
"I recorded everything that happened just now," Jaden said coldly. "If necessary, I’ll contact the media and publicize these recordings and photos. You can see then whose losses will be greater—yours or mine."
Linda looked at him in shock. How could someone so gentle want to hurt me like this? She finally realized that Jaden’s patience had reached its limit. Not daring to push further, she stepped back, sobbing softly.
"Jaden, I will prove to you that my feelings for you haven’t changed. I really want to spend the rest of my life with you."
With that, she picked up her phone. "I’ll return the money to you now."
Jaden typed a few lines on his phone and said, "This is my bank account. Return one hundred thousand dollars now, and we’ll be even."
As Linda transferred the money, she couldn’t help but confess, "Jaden, other women want men’s money and spend it, but I’m different. When we were poor, I did farm work with you. I didn’t mind if you were poor. I have money now, and I only want to share it with you. Don’t you want to open up the wasteland? I can fund it for you."
Avery interrupted sharply, "Stop dreaming! You’re going to raise your stepdaughter until she’s eighteen, and you won’t get your husband’s inheritance until your stepdaughter has custody of her brother. Now, your husband’s first wife is prepared to sue you for the inheritance and custody of both children.
If you keep nagging, I’ll hand over evidence of your misconduct and how you’re pestering another man to your husband’s first wife."
Linda’s expression changed again. Why does Avery know so much? she thought bitterly. If it weren’t for her, Jaden and I wouldn’t have so many obstacles...
But at that moment, she didn’t dare say anything. She could only look at Jaden with tears in her eyes.
After receiving the money, Jaden held Avery’s hand. "Let’s go," he said, not sparing Linda another glance.
Linda, however, kept looking at his back as he walked away. Crying, she thought, Jaden, wait for me. I’ll rent a house in Oxhorn Village and live there—just like before. I’ll take care of your grandparents every day, do housework, cook, farm, and raise poultry. I’ll make you love me again.
Meanwhile, Avery hadn’t gone far. Letting Jaden leave first, she secretly watched Linda until she returned to Rosemont City.
Later, Avery handed her grandparents’ medical data and various samples to a private hospital working with Dr. Annie. She planned to make further arrangements once the test results came out.
On her way back to the villa, her phone buzzed with several messages.
It was Mose Evans, a famous screenwriter in the film and television industry, messaging her excitedly:
[Mose Evans]: Samira, the countryside photo you posted on Facebook is stunning! It perfectly matches the outdoor location requirements for our crew. We’ve scouted several places, but none of them felt right until we saw these photos!
Avery was a little surprised. My hometown is actually being considered by someone like Mose? As expected of a big shot—his taste is unique and refined.
She replied politely:
[Avery]: My friend took those photos. I just reposted them. Her brother and grandparents live there. The elderly aren’t in good health and need to recuperate, so filming there might disturb them.
Also, the place isn’t big. There are many barren mountains around, and her brother might start cultivating the land soon. I don’t think it’s suitable for filming.
Mose responded almost immediately, sending a flurry of excited emojis.
[Mose Evans]: That’s great! Our film is an art piece focusing on rural life. The female lead and the villagers will be cultivating the land, planting flowers and fruits. It’s a vital theme.
If we do decide to film there, we’ll make proper arrangements for your friend’s family to rest without disturbance. We’ll cover any related costs and even help them with land cultivation—free of charge.
He added sincerely:
[Mose Evans]: The script is fantastic. I can send you a portion to look at. I hope you can put in a good word with your friend. And here’s a secret: the female lead is Luna Carter.
