Chapter 79: Uh Oh x2 - I Killed All Your Family! Oopsie!

"Hmmmmm....."

"...Alice?"

"Hmmmmm...." Alice frowned. "Yep, I would say I did pretty good."

Pretty good, my ass. The exhausted Yasen sighed, her draconic scale softening in ice gels, as her ashen eyed was imbued reluctant blues, the prideful dragon’s body serving as a mere, diligent, humble ’mana conduit’ to hold back part of Alice’s power, as the Dragon’s eyelid and long neck slumped, as if she would faint the next moment from having her blood vessals constantly torn inside out during the process.

She glanced forward, the clearings and the sky, all filled with frozen gargolytes. What used to be moving ants of stones, now...well, unmoving ants of ice, some frozen on the ground like normal, and some...frozen on the sky like obviously abnormal. The Dragon frowned at this ignorance of physics that would put Adrei’s concept-burning flames to shame. What is this? She froze the space or time or something? Why couldn’t she detect anything? There’s no way it is just that she froze things so hard, physics and spaces obeyed to her, right? Right?!

The Demon King would have nodded at this conclusion, for she, also, couldn’t understand the logic behind Alice’s ice, only that it froze stuff so hard she once questioned why bother sending help to the frozen statues marring her land in the first place. For now, only two individuals were capable of melting and dissecting her ice: Adrei the concept-burning Dragon, and...well, Alice herself.

And as for the town? It would nod to the Demon King with a very, very big thumbs up. Humanity would have made peace with demons over the shared trauma known as ’Alice’. Demond? She now slept dreaming nighmares of Alice frostbiting half of her old home’s garden again. Adrei? Her claws were now raised and chipped as she desperately defended against a mere fog conjured by Alice. And Selene? Well, her sword aside which basically became an ’Icebrand’ (that to her dismay, would become a future tourist attraction spot), she is still zigzaging and trailing pathways with tears spilling like serpants as she yelled ’Mom! Mother! Mommy!’

Ah, meanwhile, Alice was smiling wide, really wide now, as she witnessed the chaos of the frosty fog engulfing the entire town, each and every glitter falling matched her sense as an ice artist. So, the frost pollen thing? It is intentional for Alice’s artistic sense. It is not that she could not completely control her mana, just that she would be the person who went ’ice rain? neet’, before learning how to conjure it in a flash, assisted solely by the <Fairytale> Series that Demond taught unto her.

That’s right, the <Fairytale> series remained her one and only method to control her mana, shaping her mana into different forms other than simply frosts outbursts that would painted one third of the world white. In other words, she treated one of the most rarest <Tale-weaving> art, known only to Demond and her as of current era, as paintbrushes for ’magic painting’. Truly a parental foresight by Demond, who would have shed tears of joy upon knowing she just saved the World from an unknowing fate of a literal ’nuclear winter’, only to submit the world to a more ’beautiful’, more completed....well, nuclear winter.

"Ah, come to think of it, where are the vampires I was told to kill here?"

Alice raised her head as she darted around. The sky...no vampire. The city...well, she just extended her mana tendrils. No vampire either. So that leaves...

Alice scowled at the ground for her wonderful ’creation’, the gargolytes iced as each and every gap was filled by either ice dusts or gargolyte...comically clinging to each other. To be extremely clear, it is not accurate as they were in different positions. Some had their arms strung together like brothers, some had their palms open and clapped together like sisters of fate, and some merely got stuck all over the place, literally. Head stuck against chest, foot stuck against mouth, all positions combined would have Adrei drooling for the different perversion this ’artistic vision’ would inspire.

Amongst the artsy gargolytes, however...Alice narrowed her scowl at a particular spot. Dozens of gargolytes there clung arm-to-arm as if to form a stone dome, all of them staring downwards in a circular manner. Nodding, then smirking, Alice tapped the Dragon beneath her feet.

"Yasen. Be a good girl and swipe that spot over there."

The invisible ashen-dragon’s eyelid frowned, as her slumped head raised for the direction Alice pointed, before tilting her head. "Hm? Someone...or something is under there?"

"Apparently, yes!"

...why the excitement? Yasen puffed, her hoarse throat even forbidden her to cough out blood from Alice’s mana rebound in case her body worsened at a slight disruption from this vessal that Alice altered the body structure for, before she flew towards it, and swung her tail to swipe a clearing around those gargolytes, revealing a clearing and...a charred figure?

"Wowee. How beautiful, a vampire, is it?" Alice cracked her neck, her staff pulsing as if asking ’again?’, as her feet stretched outwards from the Dragon’s skull before allowing herself to fall, the graciousness...could not be found anywhere as the ground cracked as she landed, her cheat-like mana even cushioned the fall for her.

"Well well well, so desperate now? Awwwwww...." Alice made sure to have a gentle smile as she approached, the charred figure with grey hair trembled and gazed down, as if unwilling to bear witness to the embodiment of catastrophe.

"Wha-what...what is this?"

The sovereign, in utter disbelief (as if the five mini suns weren’t enough), now curled into herself like an infant. Upon seeing this, the ’infant-curling’ professional Yasen gave a large thumbs up. The fear? The despair? The PTSD look as if they just escaped a bombardment? The unwillingness to look her opponent in the eye? Perfection.

"Hi, this is Alice! The one who kinda, sorta, killed all of you vampires. Oopsie!" Remembering an idol move, the cute Alice darted out her tongue as her fist lightly tapped herself.

"Shit...shit!" The sovereign desperately clung to the ground, her sense of reality completely destroyed. "This is...this is not real...what the hell is that ice? Wha-what has happened to humanity when I was not here for five million years?"

"Oh wow, five million? That’s an impressive number!" Now remarking the ’Oldest Demon/Undead she has killed’ in her notebook, she raised her staff. "By the way, Miss Beautiful Old Hag, do you enjoy being iced for an eternity? Or shattered into a million pieces carried by the wind? I personally enjoyed the latter!"

A grin that showed off Alice’s shrewd tiger teeth filled the little hero’s expression, as she stepped forward for the charred sovereign. "Mercy, after all, is the first step to peace. And I’m sure you’ll agree right? Or do you enjoy being an ice statue?"

"Nei-neither..." A weird clarity was found in the sovereign’s red eye as she met the casual blues of the hero, who merely tilted her head.

"Ah, I forgot." Alice’s staff trembled, the sign of cold bloodlust seething into existence. "Demons have only rights to be my toy, so no. I don’t give a shit what you answer."

Then, she smiled widely again, like an angel about to send off her past life’s old friend. "Do take care of yourself in hell, alright? Maybe they only have magma instead of blood for breakfast!"
