The Reaper's Wicked Obsession
Chapter 53: Twisted Anger

Chapter 53: Twisted Anger

Rav didn’t believe him because of his cunning ways, he could use this information to achieve anything. There was nothing that could be done.

The secret was out.

He had to find Isadora and make sure she was okay, that was the most important thing.

In silence Rav turned on his heels and walked to the door.

"But you should know the mountains whisper a lot," Logi said, laughing, as the door slammed shut but then his smile faded slowly.

"Fucking frustrating!" he cursed, turning to the table and resting his good hand on it and the other pressed against his chest.

"What is going through your head, Kraven?" he voiced, recalling the raven bird he saw earlier with silver eyes, it was no doubt Kraven.

"Using your powers? What is the use of my seal then? For decoration?!" He yelled, kicking the table, causing the things on it to fall to the ground.

"I have to be sure," he added, storming out.

Logi made his way to Kraven’s chambers, murmuring to himself like a maniac and gaining strange looks from the others—They moved away from him as he continued to rant and curse with every second.

’In Alda’s name, you better be in there,’ he thought, placing his hand against the wall, it caved slightly under the pressure, and a hidden door slid open.

He stepped into the dimly lit room, his eyes immediately landing on the empty bed.

"Alda!" he exclaimed to the Allfather, running his hand through his hair in frustration.

He had one rule when he set the seal in place, which was bed rest to allow it to work. What was the point of enforcing a difficult technique if he can’t let it take root?

"Stupid!" he yelled.

Suddenly, out of the corner of his eyes, he spotted a figure standing silently, making him flinch. Not even an aura could be sensed, catching him completely off guard.

There was only one person it could be.

"What in god’s name are you trying to do? Give me a heart attack?!"

The silence Logi got in return was evidence it was definitely who he thought it was.

"Good to see you too, Ekko."

"Where is Lord Raven?" the voice asked, hushed and barely more than a whisper.

"As you can see... I saw an empty bed," he pointed to it. "The one rule I had, is bed rest... to allow the seal to set root, but no... he decided to go against it, do you know what that means?"

He turned back to Ekko and found him gone.

"Of course..." he murmured. "You should have asked about my hand, you know!"

Isadora sat close to the fire, watching it crackle and pop. It was warm, but not warm enough to chase away the chill buried deep in her bones.

He only left a change of cloth but no blanket.

’Asshole.’

Her teeth had been chattering for the past hour as her eyes scanned the desolate area, but there was still no sign of him.

What is this place?

It felt different from the rest of the mountain locations. Maybe she hadn’t wandered enough to know what most of the place would look like.

She’d searched every nook and cranny of this place but there was no entrance.

Escaping was not an option.

’Rav must be worried,’ she thought. He could be looking for her right now, having no idea his travel companion had kidnapped her again.

She could already picture him being frantic with worry.

"Have you thought of an answer, love?"

She gasped, darting her eyes at Kraven suddenly sitting on a boulder at the other side of the fire.

Where did he come from?

"Answer to what?" she feigned ignorance, hoping to get on his nerves but of course, the crazy man was even more amused for her liking.

"You already know this," he said in that gravelly voice of his, rolling up the sleeves of his tunic to reveal his corded arms. "I hate repeating myself"

"You asked me that question like you have the answer to it already."

"Do tell."

She chewed the inside of her mouth. "You know what I want... just as you watched me run the Spine, just as you know I didn’t do it to prove anything to anyone."

’Except to Rav,’ she thought.

"I did it to prove something to myself," she brought her eyes back to the fire, lost in deep thought.

Kraven watched as she travelled into her head, her amber eyes glazing with many unsaid things.

"Then give me your answer... I want to hear it from you"

"Say it and then what?" she countered. "You get what you want, just like you always do,"

His smirk got wider. "You win the Hunt, love, that is what I want and you do too."

"NO!" she boomed. "You dragged me into this, you brought me to this imposter court, you’re the reason why I’m humiliated and you know what’s funny?" she scoffed.

"It’s not because I’m a mannfae but because they took one look at me and deemed me unworthy, just like you"

"Interesting... is my little bunny pouring her heart out to me or does she want my pity?"

Isadora growled, grabbing a stone beside her and flung it at him, but he caught it with a swift, effortless motion.

"You’re impulsive... which is good, but more important," he tossed the stone behind him. "I love your anger... let me feed on it more."

"You want my anger?" she asked, rising to her feet and unsheathed her dagger from her holster.

"Then take it!" she yelled and charged at him, her mind scolding her for giving in, but she didn’t care.

Kraven caught her hand and forced it behind her back—earning a painful yelp from her.

"I already told you before... you speak with your eyes too much," he murmured close to her ear, his hot breath sending a shiver down her neck.

Isadora froze, suddenly aware of the position they were in.
