Chapter 366: Chapter 366 – Robin was not afraid
"Get me the note," Robin commanded the bodyguard, who promptly retrieved it from the secretary’s hand and handed it to Robin as instructed.
Robin quickly examined the directions, his brow furrowing in concern. Without hesitation, he reached for his phone and dialed Daniel’s number.
"Daniels, where is Lizzy?" Robin asked urgently.
Daniel couldn’t help but feel a bit suspicious.
It was unusual for Robin to call directly about Lizzy, especially since they were supposed to be together later that morning.
Robin had mentioned needing to take care of some things in the office.
"She’s at her father’s mansion with the beauticians and Matilda. Sabrina is there too," Daniel replied cautiously.
Robin let out a sigh of relief, grateful that whoever was after Lizzy hadn’t succeeded.
He attributed it to how he had tightened security was around his loved ones and asked,
"Where are you?"
"I’m also there, just strolling the calm street. You know how these women are, they act like I’m invisible," Daniel replied, his tone sad.
Robin was relieved that Lizzy wasn’t in immediate danger and spoke with determination.
"You need to tighten security. I’m sending you something right now," Robin instructed.
"Okay." Daniel checked the item he had received and his heart started pounding rapidly.
He scanned his surroundings, on high alert for any potential attackers. Lowering his voice, he asked,
"Do you think it’s Martin?"
"I don’t know, but it seems like he was too late to retrieve the note. He failed to abduct Lizzy. Tighten security until we can be certain and locate him. This time, I won’t hesitate to take matters into my own hands. I’ll kill him myself," Robin said angrily over the phone.
Daniel was in full agreement, having grown tired of the constant threats around the women connected to Robin. He wouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger and put an end to anyone who wanted to harm his Lizzy.
"You have my full support. After I return from my honeymoon, this will be my main focus," he declared.
Robin reiterated his determination, "I’m not afraid of those who hide behind cameras, so don’t worry. If possible, spend the night at the mansion. I’ll meet you there, and Devin should be your best man while I monitor security tomorrow."
Daniel liked the idea, knowing that Robin had a keen eye for detail and was naturally tough.
"Thank you, but after the wedding, I will find that Black Storm," Devin vowed with renewed determination.
As soon as Robin ended the call, his phone rang again, displaying a private number on the caller ID.
He had a hunch that it was the person responsible for the note, realizing they had failed in their plan.
"Hello," Robin responded calmly.
"Mr. Jewel, how did you like my prank?" a croaky voice asked on the other end of the line.
Robin smiled, knowing it wasn’t the man’s real voice and realizing that he hadn’t actually failed in his plan as Robin had initially thought.
The person was simply trying to scare Robin. Robin smiled and continued the conversation.
"It’s funny because you won’t dare. If you’re a man like me, then show your face," Robin challenged him.
The croaky voice responded in a relaxed tone, saying, "There will be no fun in showing my face, but I will tell you what I want."
Robin couldn’t see any connection between this person and Martin, as Martin wasn’t so daring.
He hoped that by engaging in conversation with this man, he would be able to figure out who was behind the voice.
"What is it that you want?" Robin asked.
"Your ex-wife," the man revealed. Robin’s grip on the phone tightened, and his anger flared. He spoke in a warning tone,
"You can never have her because she is my wife."
"Hahaha, Mr. Jewel, after all that you have taken from me, I can let it all go if you just let me have Sabrina," the man taunted. Robin laughed in anger.
"Hahaha, you’re so funny, Mr. scary cat. Sabrina is mine and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Besides, I’ve worked hard for everything I have. If you think I have anything that belongs to you, why don’t you take me to court?"
Robin realized that this was a new enemy. It couldn’t be Martin or Mara. The mystery man responded,
"I have eyes everywhere, Mr. Jewel. I have other ways to get what I want."
"Like sending Gladys or whoever to set me up? Come on, grow up. My wife and I have moved past those kinds of tricks. I prefer worthy opponents, and from what I can see, you’re not even close."
Robin wanted to confirm if this man was truly behind it, which is why he mentioned Gladys. The man’s silence was confirmation enough.
The call abruptly ended, causing Robin to burst into laughter at the man’s chicken-like exit. He knew that the man’s attempt had failed because his security measures were impeccable.
Meanwhile, on the other end of the line, a man paced back and forth, consumed by rage.
"He’s mocking me even after taking everything away. He must pay with his life," he seethed in the bedroom, where a middle-aged woman sat on the bed, looking at him with pity.
"I warned you not to get involved with him. He didn’t take anything from you. If anyone is to blame, it’s me," the woman said remorsefully.
However, the man shook his head in disagreement and refused, "No. Everything he has should be mine."
"I’ve already given you everything," the woman bitterly pointed out. What she had provided him was more than enough to sustain him for the rest of his life, yet he remained unsatisfied and still coveted what Robin possessed.
"But it’s not sufficient. Even with all this money, I don’t possess even half the power he wields in this city," he lamented.
"That’s because you don’t belong here. Let’s go back to..." the woman suggested, but the man interrupted her before she could finish her sentence.
"No. I want the power and fame he possesses. I want to be the most feared person in this city."
"You can never achieve that because you’re different," the woman honestly admitted. Robin didn’t inherit his power and fame from his father, as his father never reached such heights.
Robin was intelligent, daring, and unafraid to take risks where others wouldn’t dare.
"That’s precisely why I won’t give up. I will ruin his reputation and ensure that his ex-wife leaves him for good. He must suffer, just as I am suffering..." the man vowed, but the middle-aged woman shook her head once again.
"If you do that, he..." the woman began coughing violently...
