Chapter 331: Chapter 331 – I will be her eyes, ears, and everything she’ll ever need.

Matilda glanced at Sabrina but the latter lowered, her head, showing that she was not going to speak for or against her.

Swallowing tightly, Matilda forced a smile and said, "It’s nothing, Daddy, I think I’m just stressed out with school and all."

She had booked an appointment with the doctor and wanted a way to go without Devin noticing but was also afraid of what Sabrina had asked about if she never got the chance to have another baby after terminating this one.

Matilda was scared and had been thinking a lot. She was not ready to give up her school and did not know what the outcome of terminating her child would be.

Ever since she found out about the pregnancy, she bathed herself with so many excuses, not getting intimate with Devin, who never complained nor forced her.

Devin had a worried look on his face but did not speak, making Sabrina wonder if he already knew.

"Then you should rest a lot during the weekend. You look as if you are not being taken good care of," Cobby said worriedly.

He was afraid of anything bad happening to Matilda since he loved her like he did Sabrina or Lizzy.

Making no headway with Matilda, he addressed his son.

"Devin, you have to find a way of helping her."

Devin smiled bitterly, not able to hold it in any longer.

"I wanted to drive her to school but she refused," Devin said, making Robin and Daniel understand the reason he was worried but Sabrina could not make it out.

It was dangerous for Matilda to be driving by herself when the ghosts of Mara and Martin were lurking in the shadows.

Both men also realized that Devin had not yet told Matilda about it.

"Devin, I know you are busy. I don’t want you to be stressed out," Matilda said, trying to sound concerned but it only made Devin annoyed.

"But it’s good for you to be stressed out?" He glared at her, and Matilda looked away.

Devin forced a smile. He didn’t know how to explain to anyone how his fiancé had changed so much in a few weeks now.

He could only attribute it to pressure from school like she said but remembered the time before Sabrina’s travel when Matilda had a chat with her and they both separated in tears.

He waited for dinner to be over before saying to Sabrina,

"Brina, can we talk? I won’t take much of your time."

Matilda shivered a little and looked pleadingly at Sabrina, as she went to her room with Devin.

"Sabrina, what is going on with Matilda?" Devin asked straightforwardly, being hit with the certainty that both women were hiding something from him.

He couldn’t guess that it was pregnancy because he knew that Matilda was on pills and never missed a day.

Sabrina, though saddened for her brother, could also not betray her best friend but thought her brother should be smart enough to figure it out since Matilda was his woman.

"I don’t understand. Isn’t she your fiancé? Shouldn’t you be the one answering questions about her?"

Devin stared at her helplessly, not knowing how to go about it.

"Brina, she has changed. She’s no longer as lively as she used to be and she doesn’t talk much either. We are drawing apart and I feel helpless because I don’t know if I offended her."

"She no longer finds comfort in my touch and tries to avoid me."

Sabrina felt pained in her heart that Devin of all people was going through this. He didn’t deserve it and she wanted to tell him but then again, she did not have the right.

"Why don’t you ask her?"

"You think I haven’t done that a thousand times already? Please tell me what you know," Devin pleaded but Sabrina looked away and lied,

"Devin, I don’t know anything. You should talk to her."

Devin let out a humorless chuckle. The fact that his sister could not look him in the eyes meant she was lying to him.

"You are lying to me."

Being caught, Sabrina could not deny it anymore and said,

"Devin, even if I know something, I can’t tell you when she doesn’t want me to."

Devin froze at her statement, understanding dawning on him that Matilda had told Sabrina but did not want him to know. Pain flashed in his eyes.

"I get it. Thanks," Devin said and walked out but as Sabrina caught up to him with heaviness in her heart, she was shocked by how he put on a mask as if everything was fine.

Now she was beginning to wonder what Devin had hidden from her all these while under that nice guy mask he always wore.

"It’s getting late. I will take my queen home," Robin said and gave a gift to Cobby.

Sabrina smiled and gave him a gift as well before giving Lizzy and Matilda the gifts she bought for them.

Cobby did not outrightly open her gift but thanked Robin and Sabrina. Lizzy was super excited.

"I see that sissy didn’t forget me on her pre-honeymoon," she teased, Sabrina laughed and Matilda forced a smile,

"Thanks, Brina."

As they were stepping out, Sabrina almost stepped on something and Devin screamed,

"Watch your step, Sabrina," but before he even finished uttering the word, Robin already lifted her in his arms bridal style and spoke tenderly,

"She doesn’t have to watch her step when I’m here. Whenever I’m with her, I will be her eyes, ears, and everything she’ll ever need."

Everyone was shocked but Cobby had tears of joy in his eyes, both Devin and Daniel could not help but feel sorry for Mara and Martin, wherever they might be.

They were certain that Robin meant his words and would indeed, never let Sabrina out of his sight to let anything bad happen to her.

Sabrina was blushing so much from all the love Robin was showing her and she could not help but accept that she made the right decision to follow her heart once again.

"Thank you, my King," she said when Robin placed her gently on the passenger seat since he had resumed driving again.

"Like I said, it’s my responsibility," Robin smiled and kissed her softly on the lips before she could counter his words.

Everyone was just gawking at them with admiration but Daniel could not keep his mouth shut.

"I feel like I’m seeing a man from another planet. Sabrina, what did you do to my best friend?" Daniel asked teasingly, everybody laughed.
