As she was being tied to the chair, she kept screaming from the pain of her broken bones until she fell unconscious.
"I will be back," the general said to his men.
Two hours later.
"Water," Mara pleaded, as she had regained consciousness and was asking, her eyes closed as one of the bodyguards sneered,
"Nobody is your maid here."
Mara opened her eyes weakly. She was happy that the general was not there.
Her hands were tied and it was so painful because her bones were broken and she hadn’t been given any painkillers.
"Please help me and I will give you anything you want," she mumbled, assaulted by the pain in her arms and legs which were already red and swollen but the men heard it and burst into laughter.
"What makes you think that we want anything from you?" One of them asked, looking at her like a piece of shit.
Mara knew she was good at this and from the pain she was enduring, knew that if she was not able to escape, then she was going to die.
Money held no value and she was willing to give it away.
"Hundred million," she said tiredly, the men looked at each other, wondering if she was trying to mock them.
"Go to hell bitch, let me call my boss to begin your torture," another one snarled, Mara was losing hope.
However, before giving up, she decided to try one last time.
If she dies all the the money would go to waste anyway.
"Please. Five hundred million."
The same bodyguard was about to speak when the second one patted him on the shoulder and they walked to a corner.
He had more information about Mara than the first one.
"We don’t lose anything by taking the money," he advised, the first one looked at him strangely before asking,
"What do you mean? Have you forgotten about loyalty?"
The second bodyguard looked around, a little nervously and replied,
"No one will have to know."
He whispered something into the ear of the first bodyguard and it seemed the sound could not catch it.
They walked back to Mara and the first one asked her,
"How can we trust you?"
Mara let out a weak smile and though she could not see clearly, she took a closer look at them before saying,
"Only twenty percent of our money is in the bank. I will show you where we kept five percent and that would be enough to pay you."
The bodyguards glanced at each other. This woman looked like she had so much money and even if they worked all their lives, there was no way they would be able to make that much money.
"She sounds like a businesswoman," the second one smiled and said, the first one remembered something important and pointed out,
"Yes but what is the plan? There are cameras."
"I will take care of it," the second guard said and added, "since the boss will be back with Robin, let’s go by your plan."
A few days later.
The first guard arrived at the torture room with a syringe.
They were able to wipe the cameras but since the general hadn’t authorized them to kill Mara, any wrong move would cause suspicions.
Secretly, they had been feeding her and Martin for them to be strong as well as sneaking in a doctor to treat their injuries and everything was smartly deleted from the cameras, so the general wouldn’t know.
"What are you going to do?" Mara asked with tears in her eyes, afraid that the men were not going to comply as they had shown before.
The guard smiled and said, "You will thank us later."
About fifteen minutes later, Robin, Sabrina, Matilda, Daniel and Devin arrived.
That part was skipped to where they left after they thought Mara and Martin had died before the video showed the same men with Mara and Martin.
"Our plan worked and they are assumed dead but If we transport them now, what about the ashes?" The first bodyguard asked. He was not as brave as his colleague, being dependent on the latter.
The second one had already thought it through, saying,
"We will cremate two random dead bodies and give the ashes to the boss."
The first one nodded at the suggestion before the two of them carried the bodies out.
The outside cameras had all been wiped so there was nothing more to see.
End of video
"You mean they aren’t dead?" Devin was devastated and asked, his face pale, knowing that Matilda was not safe for as long as Mara was alive.
None of them believed that she would just escape and stay put.
The girl was a vengeful demon. Robin was calm since he already arranged his protection plan in his mind.
"That is what the general told me. He is searching for them but after speaking with Peter, he makes me understand that Mara might undergo the knife to look like Sabrina."
Then he looked Devin in the eyes and said,
"Devin, your case is more serious because Matilda goes to school and could meet different people every day."
Robin imagined another person taking up the appearance of Sabrina and going around doing evil. It was hard to imagine.
"Then we have to tell them," Devin suggested but Robin shook his head at the notion.
"If you tell Matilda, she will tell Sabrina and I don’t want her to have any fears about her condition."
"No, she won’t," Devin said seriously. He has known Matilda to keep secrets more than anyone else.
Robin pursed his lips at Devin’s defense and said,
"Since you are certain, then fine but you have to be careful."
Devin nodded his head and hatched a plan.
"I will resume driving her to and from school again. I will also keep her on a tracker at every given time."
Daniel nodded his head in agreement feeling helpless as he said to them,
"I don’t have anything to use to look for them so the only thing we have to do is to be cautious."
Right then, the intercom rang and when Robin picked it up, he was filled with annoyance at the information he received.
