Chapter 324: Chapter 324 – The only thing she can’t change is her DNA

"Mr. Jewel, what is the urgency you are talking about?" Pete asked over the phone.

He had called as soon as he received the message from Robin.

The latter had already dropped Sabrina off at the office, issuing a stern warning to Laura and increasing the security around her.

"Peter, Mara bribed the bodyguards and escaped," Robin said directly Peter was shocked and spoke from the end of the line,

"I’m surprised. Those men didn’t look like they could be bought."

"Well, there is no act to reading the mind’s construction on the face," Robin said thoughtfully, as he thought of ways to end these evil people, this time by himself.

After a little pause, Peter began to inform,

"If Mara escaped for whatever reason, then you don’t have to look out for her in the same form."

Robin frowned imperceptibly, confused. "I don’t understand."

Peter explained patiently, knowing that there was no way to help this time since he lost contact with Mara, and from where he was, there was no way Mara would be able to locate him.

"From the understanding I had dealing with her, she had gone out a lot under disguise when Martin left for the office."

"She also mentioned a few times to have surgery to change her appearance but was only restricted because she couldn’t tell Martin that she could walk, for fear that he would leave her."

As Robin listened, he instantly recalled the time Mara disguised under the name Yolanda, which meant that Peter was right but what beat Robin’s imagination again was the part of her wanting to look like Sabrina, which was extreme and dangerous.

"So, you suspect that she would change her appearance?" Robin asked after a little thought.

"I don’t suspect it. That is what she would do. At a point, she said she wanted to have surgery to look like Sabrina so that Martin would love her," Peter revealed before adding,

"If you want to keep your woman safe, then until Mara is found dead or alive, don’t allow any new faces into your life, and watch your wife closely, in case she exhibits any strange behaviors."

Robin knew that even if Mara disguised herself to look like Sabrina, he would easily make her out because it wasn’t just about looks but behaviors and preferences.

Even their scent was another thing to put into consideration and would Mara go through the stress of emulating Sabrina’s voice or even have surgery for it?

No matter what, Robin was sure to make out his woman, even among a bevy of women looking exactly like her.

However, as Peter continued to speak, he made another statement that caught Robin’s attention.

"Make sure that whoever is watching her when you are not around, takes all the necessary details into account. Just treat it as the case of a clone."

Robin realized that even if he might be able to make out any discrepancies, it might not be the same for others and there was no way he could keep her with him every day. She needed to breathe.

"Thank you for telling me," Robin said with gratitude, trying to figure out ways of tightening security around Sabrina.

It wasn’t right but he just knew that he had to install other secret cameras at the places she usually goes.

For instance, her father’s office, other offices, and even the washrooms.

"If Mara is on the loose, the only thing she can’t change is her DNA. I will send her test results so that should you notice anything strange about your wife, you quickly check her DNA to know if there has been a swap," Peter hinted once more, interrupting Robin’s thoughts.

This revelation put Robin on the alert. Indeed, he heard about how people are cloned and can speak and do things like the original person.

The only difference was that clones were made from the DNAs of the original person but it wouldn’t be so for Mara.

Robin smiled faintly, knowing exactly what to do but this time, he was determined not to travel or keep his eyes off Sabrina at any point in time.

"I’m grateful for the information."

"You are welcome," Peter said and hung up the phone.

After Robin hung up, he checked the cameras in Sabrina’s office and after ensuring that she was there, he went about his duties when he received a video from the general.

An email popped up as well which was Mara’s DNA test results.

He quickly saved it in a safe place and focused on the video the general sent.

There was a message attached.

’I cut out the irrelevant parts to make it concise.’

At the same time, Devin and Daniel walked in, as if they were coming from the same place.

"Right on time. I will project this video for us to watch together," Robin said and stood from his desk, both Daniel and Devin were uncomfortable, seeing him too cold and serious.

Robin has always been serious but this was extreme, making Daniel wonder about the matter of urgency, especially when Robin had just returned from his trip with Sabrina.

"Which video?" Daniel asked. Robin did not respond and did as said.

The two men did not even sit, as they began to watch what was being played on the screen, their hearts shattering piece by piece.

Video

"Break her bones before you tie her to the chair," the general commanded, a shrill left Zayla’s throat, as the two bodyguards walked towards her on the floor.

"Please, don’t do this," she pleaded. She just woke up after passing out in her mansion when the general kicked her and was afraid the moment she heard that familiar voice and saw that familiar face.

"Then you shouldn’t have touched my daughter," the general said coldly.

He knew that everybody wanted a piece of Mara so he was just taking his share before Robin and the rest arrives.

"It was a long time ago," Mara pleaded, feeling weak and feeling pain all over from what she already suffered but the general had no compassion in him, his eyes were cold and so was his voice,

"It doesn’t change the fact that you destroyed two and half years of my daughter’s life."

"Ahhhhhhhhhh," Mara screamed when two men pinned her down and began to break her bones beginning from her legs.

The pain was excruciating, as she had just suffered a miscarriage...
