Chapter 148: 147: You wearing a skirt is just you trying to seduce me

Inside Emperor’s Scenic Heaven, the already wilted maple leaves were carried down to the ground by the gentle breeze, covering the shrubs along the roadside and forming a thick layer.

Xu Linchuan, carrying two travel bags, adjusted his jacket and darted into the Shi Family compound, stepping on the dried golden leaves before the breeze could seep into his collar.

"They’re not here yet?" He casually placed the travel bags aside and looked at the man sitting on the sofa, carefully folding women’s loungewear.

Shi Wei responded with a hum, his gaze flickering to the gray travel bags at Xu Linchuan’s feet, his brows slightly raised: "Why are you bringing so much stuff?"

"One of them is for Xu Fan." Xu Linchuan seated himself across from him, picked up the pack of cigarettes on the table, pulled one out, and lit it slowly.

He lounged comfortably, exhaling a puff of gray smoke toward the man: "Why did you suddenly decide to take us out for a trip?"

Last night, when he heard Xu Fan mention it, he thought he’d misheard, as the initiator of this gathering was truly unexpected.

Aside from their teenage years, they hadn’t gone out as a group for years—either one was too busy or the other was on a business trip.

In short, even getting together for a brief meetup once in a while was considered fortunate.

"Zhizhi said it’s more fun with more people." Shi Wei’s hands didn’t stop moving, but his expression softened noticeably when he mentioned his little sweetheart.

Xu Linchuan: "..."

So they were just here to keep her entertained.

Xu Linchuan clicked his tongue lightly as he sat upright, tapped off the ash from his cigarette, and scanned the room: "Where’s your little girlfriend?"

"Upstairs changing clothes." As Shi Wei finished folding the garments, he reached out for the cigarettes on the table, only to spot a shadow standing at the stairs.

The girl’s outfit today was quite different from usual. She wore a long black dress with a trapezoidal neckline and asymmetrical hemline, exuding an elegant and retro vibe.

The exposed curve of her lower back was accented by a silk white bow tied neatly, adding a touch of femininity.

Yu Zhi descended the stairs under the man’s momentarily dazed gaze, nervously pressing her lips together before softly asking, "Does it look good?"

The air fell silent for a moment. Recovering from his awe, Shi Wei grasped her delicate arm and pulled her into his lap.

His hand brushed against the smooth skin of her lower back, his gaze resting on the delicate collarbone revealed by her dress for a few seconds. Leaning into her ear, he murmured, "You’re stunning. I love it."

Though he had imagined her in dresses before, seeing her in one now made him feel an overwhelming fondness, wanting nothing more than to cherish her.

"Oh, looks like little sister-in-law is trying a new style today?" A teasing voice abruptly interrupted the growing intimacy between the two.

Shi Wei shot an icy glance in the direction of the speaker, grabbed a small blanket from behind him, and draped it over the girl’s legs protectively, as if shielding her from prying eyes.

Leaning down slightly, he tenderly kissed her cheek that had turned rosy from the teasing: "Ignore him."

Xu Linchuan rolled his eyes, pulling out his phone from his pocket and dialing Xu Fan’s number while sighing in frustration: "Coming early was a mistake."

These "kind moments" of being fed dog food should be shared with everyone, not endured alone.

About ten minutes later, under the relentless barrage of phone calls, Xu Fan arrived hand-in-hand with Jin Yunzhi in the Shi Family’s grand hall.

"Goodness, finally you’re here. I’m about to explode from too much dog food." Xu Linchuan’s face was filled with despair as he complained endlessly.

The loving couple had no regard for his presence, kissing and hugging endlessly as if he didn’t exist.

Jin Yunzhi, irritated by the noise, plopped himself beside the man and chirped eagerly, "Brother Wei, when are we heading out?"

His sparkling eyes and excited demeanor clearly showed his anticipation for the trip.

Shi Wei glanced at his wristwatch, paused briefly, then got up while holding Yu Zhi close: "Right now."

In the spacious backyard, two black helicopters stood parked, their hulls prominently marked with the sleek "S" white emblem.

The sharply uniformed pilots stationed nearby quickly opened the aircraft doors as the group approached.

"Wow! Brother Wei, is this specially arranged?" Jin Yunzhi was practically jumping with surprise and delight. He was seconds away from clapping his hands in excitement.

He had even prepared a neck pillow for the car ride—of course, Brother Wei’s grandeur would outdo that entirely. This was no ordinary arrangement.

"Yes, you’ll take the one in the back." Shi Wei’s lips curved slightly as he held Yu Zhi’s hand, walking forward without haste.

"Curse these filthy rich people," Xu Linchuan commented sourly, watching the couple’s retreating backs, though his steps unconsciously hastened.

As the helicopter’s rotors began whirring at high speed, within seconds, they ascended into the sky, widening the distance from the ground below.

The girl leaned against the man’s chest, gazing out the window at the streaks of sunlight spilling from the pale blue sky: "Is it far to where we’re headed?"

"Not far. It’ll take just fifteen minutes to fly there." Shi Wei pulled her tighter into his arms.

He toyed with the white silk bow on her back, absentmindedly winding it around his fingers.

Yu Zhi gave a soft hum of acknowledgment, seemingly remembering something as she quickly turned toward him: "Did you call Shi Yin?"

"Yes, he’ll come tomorrow."

"That’s good."

Shi Wei’s gaze settled on her stained, crimson lips as his fingers drifted along the satin ribbon to the soft curve of her lower back. "Zhizhi is trying to set them up?"

"Ruan Yuan really likes him." This was the first time Ruan Yuan had made such an earnest effort to chase someone; of course, she’d help where she could.

Shi Wei nodded in understanding but didn’t delve deeper into discussing Shi Yin’s affairs, instead solely focused on keeping her undivided attention on him.

He scratched lightly at her waist, his dense lashes lowering to veil the emotions in his eyes: "Zhizhi, you’re tempting me today."

Caught off guard by his words, the girl frowned slightly in bewilderment.

"I’m not." She hadn’t done anything to tempt him.

"Wearing a dress is tempting me." Shi Wei stared intently at her flushed lips, the light in his eyes darkening gradually.

If it weren’t for their current airborne location and the presence of someone else, he might have acted on his impulses right then and there.

Yu Zhi swatted away his increasingly mischievous hand, leaning close to his ear and whispering shyly, "They’ll hear us up front."

"Then I’ll wait until tonight." Shi Wei relented, remembering the surprise he had arranged for her as he temporarily let her off the hook.

But the smirk tugging at his lips held a deeper, unreadable meaning.
