Chapter 363: Chapter 363: Spells
One of them tried to fight back.
"And what about you, Long Yifan? Wait! Did you reject Gu Aihan, because you knew from the start that she wasn’t the true biological daughter of the Gu Family?
Are you suddenly interested in Gu Jin just because she’s the true daughter of the Gu family?"
Long Yifan’s eyes narrowed, and he took a step closer to the man who spoke.
"I rejected Gu Aihan because I never liked her," he said, his voice cold.
"And as for Gu Jin, my loyalty to her has nothing to do with her being the Gu family’s daughter. It’s because she’s earned my respect. Something none of you seem capable of doing."
The room fell silent again, the weight of his words sinking in.
Gu Jin, who had been standing quietly to the side, finally spoke. Her voice was calm but firm.
"That’s enough," she said, her gaze sweeping across the room.
"If anyone wants to know about my strength they can fight head-on instead of passing remarks like a gossiping aunt."
No one dared to step forward.
Luo Meng trying to smooth out the situation stepped forward and softly said,
"Master ignore them, let’s eat."
Gu Jin was silent for a while before turning to leave.
Meanwhile, the Gu Family who witnessed the entire thing stayed silent. They didn’t want to hide Gu Jin, they wanted her to face the cruel reality of the high society.
But that doesn’t mean they will let the gossipmongers go.
Mrs. Gu elegantly swept her gaze and said,
"Its time to clean the capital. Some flies are slowly infecting others."
Mr. Gu nodded with a stern expression on his face.
Gu Jichun glanced at those who had spoken and a thoughtful expression appeared on her face.
All those who dared to bad mouth were the ones who usually hung out with Gu Aihan. As for the others...they stayed silent.
The silent passerby even had an amused expression on their face, as if they were waiting for drama.
Earlier she was the target of the criticism and hence thought everyone hated her. But now...she realized, that the ones hating her were selective while the others...they are just watching the drama.
When Gu Jin slammed the haters, the silent passerby showed admiration, respect, and a hint of fear.
So why did everyone hate her, while loved Gu Jin?
What was the difference between her and Gu Jin?
Gu Jichun thought for a while and came up with an answer.
Gu Jin dared to openly criticize the haters, meanwhile she...remained silent.
A glint passed in Gu Jichun’s eyes and she understood the esscene she was missing out.
Gu Jihu narrowed his eyes and silently noted everyone, already thinking about a countermeasure.
Just then his eyes landed on Jasmine who too had a thoughtful expression, his eyes deepened.
He looked like a hunter finding his prey.
"So you are finally ready to show yourself..." Gu Jihu muttered, his lips curled upward and he smiled.
Meanwhile Long Yifan silently followed Gu Jin, ensuring to maintain distance.
Gu Jin walked away from the scene, her expression calm and unbothered.
Luo Meng followed her closely, glancing back now and then to make sure no one tried anything foolish. Once they were away from the main crowd, he let out a sigh of relief.
"Master, those people don’t deserve your attention," Luo Meng said, trying to cheer her up. "You handled them perfectly."
Gu Jin didn’t reply right away. Instead, she stopped near a table filled with food and picked up a small plate.
The banquet soon ended and the news of Gu Jin being the true daughter of the Gu Family spread.
At the same time many other news started to circulate too.
The Wang Family whose son dared to mock Gu Jin was expelled from the school.
The Shu family whose daughter dared to mock Gu Jin and Gu Jichun before was kicked out of an elite academy, her scholarship revoked, and her family fined heavily for breaking school policies.
The Shu family tried to appeal, but it was clear that the Gu family’s influence had spoken.
The message was loud and clear: anyone who disrespected the Gu family would face consequences.
Meanwhile, the banquet guests left with mixed feelings. Some whispered about how ruthless the Gu family was, while others admired their power and unity.
The gossip didn’t stop, but now it carried a new tone—fear.
Gu Jin didn’t pay attention to the aftermath, though.
She had much more important matters to deal with.
Si Kai and Ying Yue were both angry with her. They were refusing to talk with her. They were upset that they weren’t given the chance to be with Gu Jin during such an important occasion.
There was also Song Hancheng...
Gu Jin had a headache for a long time. She talked till her mouth was dry and only then did all four of them were ready to let the matter go.
Si Kai and Ying Yue then again returned to the space to continue their cultivation, while Gu Jin focused on her cultivation.
After returning from the forgotten elemental world, Gu Jin was shocked when she sensed that her plant element had reached Emperor Rank.
She unlocked new plant type, poison type, and even healing type skills.
To test them Gu Jin went to the separate training area the Gu Family had.
She opened the spell book and saw the first spell.
"Venomous Thorn Rain."
Seeing the instructions Gu Jin followed them.
Gu Jin raised her hand, channeling her energy.
A green glow surrounded her as sharp, glistening thorns materialized in the air above her.
Each thorn shimmered with a dangerous green light, oozing poison.
With a wave of her hand, the thorns shot forward like a storm, piercing the training dummies made of reinforced steel.
The moment the thorns struck, a hissing sound erupted, and the dummies began to corrode as the poison spread rapidly.
The thorns didn’t just attack directly—they left behind poisonous seeds that burrowed into the ground, sprouting small, venomous plants that spread toxic fumes.
Gu Jin frowned slightly.
"The range is good, but I need more control. The poison spreads too fast." She made a mental note to refine it later.
The second spell was Vine Prison Annihilation.
Gu Jin turned her attention to a group of training dummies placed together.
She extended her hands toward the ground, and thick vines burst out of the earth, coiling around the dummies like snakes.
The vines didn’t just trap the dummies—they tightened with incredible force, crushing the steel bodies with loud creaks.
Once the dummies were immobilized, the vines glowed with golden light before detonating, sending shards of steel and plant debris everywhere.
"This one’s perfect for immobilizing enemies before finishing them off," Gu Jin said, inspecting the aftermath.
She could feel the spell’s power draining her energy, but the results were worth it.
The third spell was healing dew. Having no way to use it, Gu Jin decided to test it later.
The fourth spell was Crimson Bloom Explosion.
For this spell, Gu Jin summoned a vibrant red flower in the palm of her hand.
The petals pulsed with a fiery energy. She tossed the flower gently toward a large boulder in the center of the field.
As soon as the flower touched the rock, it expanded rapidly, its petals spreading out like a blooming lotus.
Within seconds, the flower exploded in a fiery blast, sending chunks of the boulder flying in all directions.
The ground trembled under the force of the explosion, and a lingering heat wave spread across the area.
Gu Jin shielded her face from the flying debris.
"This one’s destructive," she muttered, looking at the deep crater where the boulder had been.
"But the energy consumption is higher than I expected."
All in all, the spells of emperor rank were destructive but were energy consuming too.
Other than emperor rank spells, there was also super rank spells.
As she finished testing her spells, Gu Jin sat down on a large rock to catch her breath.
The training area was a mess—craters, scorched earth, and shattered dummies scattered everywhere.
"Not bad," she murmured to herself, a faint smile on her lips.
Her new abilities were far stronger than she had expected, but they also required more control and energy management.
Just then, a familiar voice called out.
"Master!" Luo Meng came running toward her, panting. "I knew you’d overdo it. You’re always pushing yourself too hard!"
Gu Jin glanced at him and raised an eyebrow. "I’m fine."
Luo Meng handed her a water bottle, still grumbling. "Fine? You look like you’ve just fought a war."
Gu Jin chuckled softly. "This was just training. But it’s good to know where I stand now."
Luo Meng glanced at the ruined training field and sighed. "If this is just training, I don’t want to see what a real battle looks like."
