The healers immediately began their work, hands glowing with faint light as they channeled their healing magic into Gu Jin’s body.

Looking at the face of their savior, the healers were in awe.

How beautiful.

The beautiful black hair, pale skin, and beautiful facial features...Just perfect!

Thinking that this young woman helped them, the healers were filled with gratitude and tried their best to cure Gu Jin.

"This isn’t just exhaustion... there’s something deeper at play. It could be a curse or lingering dark magic." One of the healers concluded.

They mistakenly took Gu Jin’s dark energy as a curse placed on her by the blue-haired man.

Si Kai, still holding her hand, felt a surge of anger.

"A curse? Who would dare curse her? Tell me, and I’ll find them and make them pay!"

The healers glanced at each other but remained focused on their work.

The older healer shook her head.

"We don’t know, young one. Right now, we need to concentrate on keeping her alive. Whatever dark energy is affecting her, it’s strong."

Si Kai’s face turned pale and he said with panic on his face,

"Please! Please save my sister!"

"We are trying our best but...for some reason, the healing magic isn’t working on her." The healers were confused.

Even though they were casting advanced rank healing and light spell, the blood that was flowing out of Gu Jin’s eyes and nose didn’t stop.

After using their magic for a long time when they saw there was no change, one of the healers did some first aid and went out to call a light healer.

One of the skeleton warriors suddenly,

"She will never be cured if you continue to ask the healers to use healing magic."

"Huh? What do you mean? Tell me clearly." Si Kai asked sternly.

For now, he was so desperate that he could do anything.

Even the healers paused to listen to the skeleton warrior’s words.

"What is happening here?" A stern voice broke the conversation midway.

A man in military uniform with tanned skin and a reliable aura walked in. Beside him was another man with an authoritative aura.

They were Ren Fulin and Feng Boyu

Si Kai ignored the voice and asked the skeleton warrior who had spoken earlier.

"What do you mean?"

"She is...transforming." The skeleton warrior said softly.

"What?" Si Kai felt as if the skeleton warrior’s words didn’t make any sense.

How can a mage evolve?

Was he talking about a breakthrough?

"Transforming. The dark energy was too much and her body is..." The skeleton warrior muttered.

"Her body is what?" Si Kai asked.

"Anyways if you don’t help look after properly, she won’t be able to survive her transformation." The skeleton warrior said.

Si Kai’s heart dropped.

"Can you explain more clearly?"

The skeleton warrior turned and looked at the other people. Si Kai instantly understood his meaning and said to others,

"I request all of you to leave."

The healers didn’t want to put their savior’s life in danger and left.

Ren Fulin frowned and looked at Gu Jin, then he turned around and looked at Si Kai,

"Who are you?"

"Her brother." Si Kai said with confidence.

Ren Fulin stared at Gu Jin’s face deeply for one last time before turning to leave,

"If you can’t cure her, bring her to me. I will find a method."

Feng Boyu too remembered Gu Jin’s face clearly so that he could repay Gu Jin and give her the necessary credits when the time came.

"Her undead element is too strong." He muttered.

All the soldiers who were saved mistakenly thought that Gu Jin had an undead element.

The reason was pretty simple, according to them, they didn’t see Gu Jin sucking out any life force from any of the humans.

The major difference between an undead element and a necromancy element was life force.

The undead element too allows people to raise skeleton warriors, but...they use beast cores or Power Container to do so.

Power Containers was a box using which the undead element awakener could raise skeleton warrior.

An undead element awakener could never suck life force.

The necromancer, on the other hand, uses life force and only life force.

None of the soldiers saw Gu Jin sucking out the life force of the parasites.

They felt grateful that Gu Jin decided to save them and hence spread the word that they were saved by Gu Jin’s undead element.

Of course, a part of the reason why they couldn’t identify Gu Jin’s necromancy element was because they had never seen necromancers.

Even if they felt that Gu Jin’s ’undead element’ was strange, they couldn’t pinpoint it at all.

If Ren Fulin and Feng Boyu were present they might have recognized the necromancy element.

"Gu Jin it’s of no use even if you stood in front of her, after your death, she will die too." An arrogant female voice sounded.

The lady had brown eyes a sharp nose and thin eyebrows.

She could just be described as an average-looking person.

However, the malice in her eyes made her look somewhat hideous.

Gu Jin raised an eyebrow.

It’s been a long time since she had seen this scene.

"Gu Jin don’t sacrifice yourself... I was a fool to trust her..."

Gu Jin turned around to see a weak and pitiful girl lying on the ground.

The lady started chanting an incantation as her Fire element started up showing its fierceness.

A look of triumph could be seen on her face.

A barrier made of various plant vines appeared in front of Gu Jin.

The fiery blast from the arrogant lady’s attack collided with Gu Jin’s Plant Barrier, sending flames dancing across the entangled vines.

The heat was intense, but Gu Jin’s magic held strong, the barrier absorbing the force of the Fire Burst.

The arrogant lady’s expression shifted from smug confidence to surprise. "What?! How can you—?"

The lady’s eyes narrowed. "You shouldn’t even be able to use magic here. This is my domain!"

Gu Jin frowned slightly.

"Your domain?" That was new information.

Normally, dreams were just... dreams.

The weak and pitiful girl’s eyes widened, and a complex look appeared in her eyes.

"Yes, my domain !" The arrogant girl said. "Since you dare to defy me, just see how I will deal with you."

Just as Gu Jin was about to attack, the weak girl suddenly shouted.

"Gu Jin! Wait! Don’t kill her!"

Gu Jin turned to look at the weak girl with the nickname Yan’er.

Yan’er blinked and said,

"Even though she is bad, we can’t..."

"Shut up. Nobody asked for your opinion." Gu Jin said in a cold voice.

The girl named Yan’er was stunned and slowly she rose from the ground.

The scene around Gu Jin froze.

’Hm? What is this?’ Gu Jin wondered.

Yan’er looked at Gu Jin with anger in her eyes,

"How...dare you? How dare you defy your destiny? You are supposed to die! You are supposed to die while saving me, do you understand?

I am the daughter of the Might Mage couple."

Gu Jin raised an eyebrow,

"Does it matter who you are? Even if you are the god’s daughter, I won’t care. You are not my daughter, so why should I sacrifice myself for you?"

Yan’er’s eyes blazed with fury,

"You insolent! You are one of the sacrifices meant for my development!"

"Character development?" Gu Jin asked. "If it is the character development, then it is too forced. You can clearly save your friend but just because you are betrayed at the last moment, the people around you sacrifice? Aren’t you being selfish?"
