Chapter 234: Chapter 234: Underground City
"Master I have one suggestion for you." The space said.

....
In an underground city, beneath the surface, where light barely reached and the air was thick with the scent of earth and old stone, figures moved in the shadow.
The underground city was like a maze with narrow, winding corridors that twisted and turned, leading deeper into the earth.
In an open space of the underground city, many human figures gathered, their faces partially hidden by the dim, flickering light from torches mounted on the stone walls.
Surprisingly, even though there were many humans, a strange silence prevailed in the atmosphere.
No one talked with each other.
Each of them had an aggressive look on their face, yet none of them fought.
The most unsettling thing was...each of them was looking in the direction of where a huge throne was placed.
The throne was made of skeleton, yet it appeared strong and reliable.
Seated on the throne was a pale-faced man with long blue hair that reached his shoulder.
His face had a calm expression and he was sitting attentively. His entire body was covered by a white gown, obscuring what his body type was.
The man had long lashes, thick eyebrows, and a straight nose. He should have looked handsome, however, instead of lips, he had a thin, blood-red line that stretched from one corner of his mouth to the other.
It looked as if someone had sewed the man’s mouth. He didn’t have any lips. To be precise as if someone had cut off his lips.
The silence in the chamber deepened as the man’s gaze swept over the assembled crowd, his eyes narrowing slightly as if weighing each person present.
After a long, tense moment, the man finally broke the silence, his voice cold and commanding.
"You all know why we have gathered here tonight," he said, his tone sending chills through the room.
When the man spoke, his mouth opened and closed, it was made clear that the blood-red line didn’t actually stitch his. Instead, it seemed like a grotesque wound that healed just enough to allow speech, yet still appeared as a fresh, gaping cut.
The eerie nature of his mouth made his voice even more unsettling, carrying a resonance that echoed off the stone walls of the underground city.
"We have waited long enough," the man continued, his voice growing darker.
"The time has come for us to rise from the depths and claim what is rightfully ours.
This time we will rise and show them what absolute strength is. And once everyone comes under our control, we will...rule this world and punish all those who deserve punishment!"
The parasites shifted slightly, their eyes narrowing in anticipation.
They had been waiting for this moment, biding their time in the darkness, and now, the time for action had arrived.
The military thought they had dealt with almost all parasites, but it was their misunderstanding. The truth was...the parasites never reduced.
By the time the military got to know about their existence, the parasites had already spread far wide places.
The underground tunnels helped them to slowly reach many places and eventually increase their number.
They were growing more powerful day by day and spreading faster than the virus, just so they could attack the humans on Earth.
"The plan is simple," the man continued.
.......
In a luxurious hotel.
Gu Aihan walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her.
She wasn’t surprised to find a black-cloaked man standing in her room. The black-cloaked man’s back was facing Gu Aihan.
Gu Aihan clicked her tongue and said sarcastically,
"So you finally have the time to communicate with me?"
In the past few days when Gu Jin was in a coma, Gu Aihan tried her best to communicate with the black cloaked man.
She wanted to kill Gu Jin before she woke up, however, the black-cloaked man didn’t reply to her messages at all.
The more time passed, the more desperate Gu Aihan became.
She even started to wonder whether the black-cloaked man had switched sides...
"Is this the manner you are supposed to talk?" The black-cloaked man asked coldly.
Gu Aihan rolled her eyes,
"Hey look! I too don’t want to talk with you like that, however...I am truly scared, alright? I thought you had switched sides and we even missed the golden opportunity to kill Gu Jin, I was just a bit frustrated."
"Scared?" The black cloaked man laughed. "Gu Aihan you are forgetting that we have been partners for a long time. If a person like you can be scared, then the whole world must be trembling."
Gu Aihan narrowed her eyes at the man’s taunt, but she held her tongue. She knew better than to cross him openly.
"Look, I don’t have time for your games," she said, her voice laced with irritation.
"We missed our chance with Gu Jin, and now she’s awake. You know how dangerous she can be. What’s the plan now?"
The black-cloaked man turned around slowly, his face obscured by the darkness of his hood
"Calm down, I have come up with a good plan. By the way, do you know this Gu Jin is the same woman who had attracted the attention of your fiance?"
"Why are you talking about that loser now..." Midway through her sentence Gu Aihan stopped and asked,
"What? What did you say?"
The black-cloaked man repeated his words calmly. Gu Aihan shook her head and gritted her teeth,
"This pair of b*stard and b*tch are truly a match made in heaven!"
She recalled how once she insisted on breaking the engagement with Long Yifan and how her eldest brother declined the request.
Under the consistent request of her, her eldest brother told her the real reason,
"Aihan you are still too young. You may not know this but it is destined that members of the Long family could only become successful and fall in love with the family member of Gu family. The same is true for the Gu family too.
Maybe due to your rebellious phase, you hate Long Yifan so much for now, but trust me it’s for your own good, later you will fall in love with him."
At that time she thought her eldest brother was lying, but now she knew it was true.
If Gu Jin was indeed the woman with whom Long Yifan felt attracted, then...Gu Jin was indeed the daughter of the Gu Family.
Truly destiny was laughing at her.
Though she didn’t like Long Yifan, he was her fiance, he should have loved her due to her kind persona, but that b*stard always ignored her.
Even when he fell from his high and mighty position of being the sole heir of the Long Family, he still never fell in love.
She thought he was gay, however...that b*stard was waiting for his destiny!
"No! Gu Jin must die! I can’t let her live!" Gu Aihan shouted.
Suddenly she narrowed her eyes and asked,
"Wait! I remember I had asked an assassin to kill that woman...so why is she still alive?"
Gu Aihan regretted her decision, if only...if only she had ensured at that time that Gu Jin was dead, the situation wouldn’t have spiraled out of control like this.
The black-cloaked man let out a dark chuckle.
"The assassin you hired was killed by her. You underestimated Gu Jin’s capabilities."
Gu Aihan clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms.
"How could that be? I hired one of the best assassins in my contacts. Are you telling me she’s more skilled than an assassin who never fails?"
The man stepped closer, his voice calm yet menacing.
"Gu Jin is no ordinary target. That’s why I advised patience."
"Patience?" Gu Aihan spat, her eyes blazing with anger. "I have been patient, and look where it’s gotten me! She’s still alive, and now, it turns out she’s connected to Long Yifan. I won’t let this continue!"
The black-cloaked man suddenly closed the distance between him and Gu Aihan and gripped her neck.
His strength was so strong, that Gu Aihan felt herself gasping for air.
Her eyes widened in shock as she clawed at his hand, trying to break free, but the black-cloaked man didn’t let go.
"Enough," he hissed, his voice low and dangerous.
"You’ve forgotten your place, Gu Aihan. You may be important, but you’re not irreplaceable. Remember that before you speak to me again with such insolence."
Gu Aihan’s vision blurred as she struggled to breathe, fear gripping her chest.
Just when she thought she might pass out, the black-cloaked man released her neck, letting her fall to the floor, coughing and gasping for air.
She looked up at him with hatred in her eyes, but she didn’t dare say a word.
"Do you know your place now?"
Gu Aihan nodded her head while her gaze was fixed on the floor.
