The Mighty Mage -
Chapter 218: Skelly-2
Chapter 218: Chapter 218: Skelly-2
The violent mana motioned the small purple ball to come near it.
"What is this element?"
Gu Jin was curious and asked,
"Which element have I awakened?"
The small purple ball transformed into a Unyi.
Gu Jin tried to summon the energy of the violet mana, however even after the energy was summoned, Gu Jin wasn’t able to understand what element it was.
It was giving of life and death energy at the same time. How strange...
"Ahhhh! Help! Help me!" A not-so-familiar voice broke Gu Jin’s daze. She hurriedly walked out of the secret chamber and went out, only to find Jin Mu who was trying to run away from something.
Gu Jin frowned.
Should she...or should not help?
The question lingered in my mind.
Remembering Pei Ke’s words, Gu Jin decided to step forward to help.
"Come here." Gu Jin shouted and Jin Mu was shocked.
When she saw Gu Jin who looked like a caveman, she didn’t go forward and shouted,
"Run! I have attracted a peak super-rank mage creature behind me! He is hellbent on killing!"
Gu Jin frowned. Another peak super rank mage creature?
However before she could ask anything more, Gu Jin saw the same Skelly-like creature following Jin Mu.
Gu Jin: "..."
Jin Mu saw Gu Jin still standing in the same spot and shouted,
"Please run away! I won’t implicate you!"
Such a kind-hearted girl.
Gu Jin thought.
Skelly-2 who was running behind Jin Mu paused and stared at Gu Jin with fear, panic, and killing intent.
Gu Jin: "..." See! This is my damn luck.
Sometimes Gu Jin truly wondered whether her luck was comparing itself with others and trying to become worse day by day.
Even other bad luck was getting transferred to her!
Skelly-2 suddenly materialized a scythe and Gu Jin activated her magic boots.
If she could defeat Skelly-1, she could defeat Skelly-2 too!
Thinking so, Gu Jin started to fight Skelly-2.
However she didn’t use her dark fire element right away and asked Jin Mu,
"Can you please look away?"
"Won’t I be killed?" Jin Mu blurted out.
What if she looked away and some other Skelly attacked her?
Gu Jin: "..." Well she has a point.
Jin Mu as if understanding Gu Jin’s hesitation suggested,
"Could I-"
Before she could finish, Skelly-2 attacked Gu Jin.
"I’m sorry." Gu Jin said to Jin Mu and suddenly flew towards her.
Before Jin Mu could realize anything Gu Jin knocked her out.
"Now I can get back to work!" Gu Jin said with relief in her voice.
After an hour, the fight ended with Gu Jin emerging as a winner.
However, unlike the previous Skelly, Gu Jin didn’t kill him and wanted to store him.
"Master." The space’s hurried voice sounded.
Gu Jin ignored him.
This b*stard wasn’t there for her when she needed him, now that she has got her hand on spoils of war, he wants a share.
"Master I am back! I have something very important to tell you!" The space said.
Gu Jin didn’t reply and looked at the unconscious Skelly.
"Master I will take him with me. Say me thanks later." The space said and directly put the Skelly in the space.
"You!" Gu Jin was stunned by the space’s shameless move and shouted, "Spit him out!"
"Master, keep on collecting some more small Skelly like him. Even though you are only at level 0 I think you still can find some treasure. After all, this is an- Oh! Sorry, I will go back, please help yourself."
"Hey! How do exit this place!" Gu Jin asked hurriedly however the space remained silent.
"Space!"
No response.
Gu Jin clenched her fists in frustration, feeling both exhausted and annoyed by the space’s sudden disappearance.
The chamber around her was still dimly lit, and the eerie silence was unsettling. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.
"Fine, I’ll find the way out myself," Gu Jin muttered.
Then she looked at Jin Mu and sighed.
Taking out some healing pills from her space, Gu Jin ate the pills and helped Jin Mu eat some.
A day passed.
Gu Jin cultivated to restore her mana and restored 90% of her mana.
With curiosity, Gu Jin explored the place.
Other than some random stones, Gu Jin was very fond of the bricks.
So Gu Jin used her magic to dig them. She did it in such a way, that the wall won’t collapse and she got a lot of bricks.
Her instincts as a magic seeker were telling her...the bricks were very precious.
Just as she finished collecting the bricks, Jin Mu woke up.
She rubbed her eyes and happened to see Gu Jin putting the brick in her storage space.
"Are they precious?"
Gu Jin turned towards her and said lightly,
"Don’t know, but I need to take away something from here, otherwise I will feel as if I have suffered some loss."
Jin Mu was stunned, then with a diligent expression, she stood up and started to collect some bricks.
As the only daughter of the wealthy Jin family, Jin Mu felt ashamed for collecting bricks...but what to do...her hubby was truly poor...
"By the way, how did you end up here?" Jin Mu asked.
"Long story." Gu Jin said calmly.
"I have a lot of time." Jin Mu mused.
Gu Jin raised an eyebrow,
"Your boyfriend found us. He explained how you got thrown into a black portal and offered to give us the artifact if we saved you."
Jin Mu was stunned and slowly her eyes turned moist,
"He did?"
"Hm."
Tears started to fall from Jin Mu’s eyes.
Gu Jin felt uncomfortable seeing Jin Mu’s condition and said,
"There is no need to cry. Every boyfriend will do that."
Jin Mu shook her head,
"Not every...You know...he needs to save up for his mother’s operation, however, as a university student himself, he hardly has any money...
The reason why he dared to come here was because he was truly desperate for money. His mother’s operation is scheduled for next week, and without the money, she might not make it. But even in this situation, he was willing to trade the artifact and risk his life just to save me..."
Gu Jin remained silent, her expression unreadable.
"If he was a rich person...I can still ignore his efforts...however...however even when there are so many things that he is worried about...he still is ready to give up everything for me."
They say if a person is given 100 yuan from her boyfriend and 200 yuan from her friend, she will think her friend was very good to her.
However...her boyfriend only had 100 yuan and he gave it all to her...while her friend had 20000 yuan, and she had only given her 200...
Sometimes it’s not about the amount given, but the sacrifice behind it.
The weight of that sacrifice made Jin Mu’s heart ache even more.
Her boyfriend wasn’t just giving her money or an artifact—he was offering her everything he had, even when it meant putting his own needs and his mother’s health at risk.
Gu Jin observed Jin Mu quietly.
Was this love?
Her first impression of Pei Ke was very bad...but now she feels...he wasn’t that bad...
"Anyways thank you for coming here to help me..."
"Oh no." Gu Jin waved her hand. "I didn’t come here to help him, I just fell in the black portal too."
Jin Mu was surprised,
"You too?"
"Yes. When your boyfriend offered everything, the black portal appeared behind my friend and I, in order to save her, pushed her. The black portal sucked me inside just like you. Do you understand what is the common thing?"
"Saving our loved ones and getting sucked in?" Jin Mu guessed.
Gu Jin shook her head,
"No. Your boyfriend. I think he is an ominous person."
Jin Mu: "..." Sister can you be a little indirect?
Gu Jin’s eyes blazed with flame,
"If I find the exit, I will definitely wait for the black portal to appear again and push him inside."
Jin Mu: "..." Baby I am worried for you...
Taking a deep breath, Jin Mu suppressed the panic and said,
"Dear...I think we should focus on finding the exit first," Jin Mu said cautiously, trying to steer the conversation away from Gu Jin’s fiery intentions.
She didn’t want her boyfriend to get on Gu Jin’s bad side, especially after everything he had done to save her.
Gu Jin sighed, the flames in her eyes dimming slightly. "You’re right. Let’s get out of here first. We can deal with everything else later."
"Where were you dropped?" Jin Mun inquired.
"Outside this ruins." Gu Jin answered.
Jin Mu’s eyes widened in surprise,
"Me too."
Both Gu Jin and Jin Mu exchanged a glance, the same realization dawning on them. If they had both been dropped at the ruins’ entrance, it might serve as their exit point as well.
