The Mighty Mage -
Chapter 180: Advance Rank
Chapter 180: Chapter 180: Advance Rank
"If you don’t want to take care of me, you can leave." Gu Jin suggested sincerely.
The head butler paused and just when Gu Jin thought that he would leave, he said softly,
"How could I leave you? You are young miss’s doctor!"
Though he said so, only the head butler knew how worried he was about Gu Jin.
Of course, he didn’t admit that he had started to treat Gu Jin like his own grandchild and hence he was so worried.
Gu Jin chuckled. Even she knew the truth.
If he truly thought of her as Jasmine’s doctor, he wouldn’t personally take care of her. He could just assign a few maids to look after her.
The head butler panicked when he heard Gu Jin’s chuckle and hurriedly changed the topic,
"Here eat this porridge and take your medicine after this."
Gu Jin didn’t extend her hand and only said softly,
"I am feeling weak."
The head butler instantly became more worried and stood up,
"Wait let me call you a healer..."
He couldn’t finish his words because the next second he heard Gu Jin’s soft voice,
"Feed me."
The head butler paused and looked at Gu Jin but he saw Gu Jin’s dazed look, it was as if she was looking at someone else.
He slowly sat down and scooped a spoonful of porridge, bringing it to her lips. Gu Jin opened her mouth slightly, accepting the food.
She closed her eyes, savoring the warmth and comfort it brought.
"Are you okay now?" The head butler asked, his voice softer than usual.
Gu Jin nodded weakly.
"Just tired. Thank you for taking care of me."
The head butler smiled faintly, continuing to feed her.
"It’s my duty. Now eat up and rest. You need to regain your strength."
As Gu Jin ate, her thoughts drifted back to her grandfather.
Since she fell ill, she couldn’t stop herself from thinking about her grandfather.
In her previous life, her grandfather would feed her the porridge whenever she was ill.
Gu Jin couldn’t help but become a bit emotional.
Even though the head butler knew the truth, he didn’t expose Gu Jin.
When she recovered, she was back to her usual self.
This was Gu Jin’s second year in the Grade 2.
Most of her classmates had reached intermediate rank.
Gu Jin waited for her Mutated Plant Lumino to be ready.
After a few months, the space informed Gu Jin,
"Master the Limunio is ready!"
Gu Jin’s mood brightened.
It just happens that the school was on break due to an investigation of a recent murder case.
She applied for a leave from the Shadow Fang and asked Su Qing to pass all the pills she wanted to her so that she could imbue her plant energy in the pill.
Once finished, Gu Jin gave some instructions to Song Hancheng.
In the past few months, Gu Jin mainly focused on expanding her alchemy shop.
Now the preparation was done, the market analysis was done, the shop was decided and even the alchemist was decided.
The only thing that was remaining was to find a reliable shopkeeper. Gu Jin entrusted this task to Song Hancheng.
Gu Jin took the green Lumino and entered the space.
"Do I have to drink it?" Gu Jin asked with uncertainty.
Her school was currently teaching the basics of the Intermediate Rank.
Gu Jin had understood it long ago.
After staying with Shadow Fangs for so long, she was able to learn a lot from her teammates, the battles that she faced, the tasks she completed, and the different types of beasts she had faced earlier.
All these were enough to make her understand the basics.
In fact, it would not be a lie to say that she had completely understood the Intermediate rank.
It was just...she didn’t know how to continue with her cultivation...
The space advised,
"Why don’t you read a book on intermediate rank cultivation?"
Gu Jin rolled her eyes,
"Can’t you give me a short summary?"
The space sighed.
Her master was too lazy and said
"To break through into the advanced rank, you need to drink the Lumino and slowly nurture the energy within you.
The process involves absorbing and harmonizing with the plant’s energy, which will help you advance."
Gu Jin nodded thoughtfully.
"So, I just drink it and let it do its work?"
"Not exactly," the space replied.
"You need to focus and guide the energy throughout your body. Think of it as weaving threads into a tapestry.
The more precise and patient you are, the stronger and more stable your breakthrough will be."
"Got it," Gu Jin said. She sat down in a comfortable position, took a deep breath, and drank the Lumino.
The taste was surprisingly sweet and refreshing, unlike any medicine she had ever taken.
As she swallowed, she felt a warm, soothing sensation spreading from her core, radiating out to her limbs.
Gu Jin closed her eyes and began to concentrate.
She could feel the energy from the Lumino merging with her own, like tiny streams converging into a river.
She guided the energy carefully, letting it flow through her meridians, strengthening and purifying them.
Time seemed to blur as she continued the process, her mind focused solely on the intricate dance of energies within her.
She felt the power building, layer upon layer until it reached a peak.
A sudden surge of energy coursed through her, and Gu Jin groaned in pain.
The gentle energy suddenly turned aggressive.
Gu Jin clenched her teeth, sweat beading on her forehead.
Days felt like years as she fought to maintain control, but eventually, the energy settled, merging seamlessly with her own.
Gu Jin let out a shaky breath, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over her.
A bright light enveloped Gu Jin as she completed her breakthrough.
"Congratulations, Master," the space said, its voice filled with pride. "You have successfully advanced."
"Thank you," Gu Jin replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
Gu Jin tried to cast an advanced rank spell but realized that since she had just awakened the element, she couldn’t cast a spell.
Her knowledge of Advance Rank was after all...too shallow.
"Take your time to adjust," the space advised. "Rest and let your body fully assimilate the new energy."
Gu Jin nodded and went to the house in the space.
She collapsed onto her bed, her body heavy with exhaustion, and fell asleep.
On waking up, Gu Jin ate some food and exited the space.
As soon as Gu Jin returned to her room, she felt strange energy in the air.
Gu Jin’s eyes brightened as she walked toward Ying Yue’s room.
As expected she saw Ying Yue’s body glowing slightly.
After what seemed like a few hours, Ying Yue’s aura shifted and she opened her eyes slowly.
The first person she saw was Gu Jin.
What made her feel stunned was a strange small glowing red flower-like thing right at the center of Gu Jin’s forehead.
She blinked, to confirm that she wasn’t seeing things but was surprised to find that the mark suddenly disappeared.
Huh?
Was she assuming things?
Is it because of her breakthrough that she was having such an illusion?
Gu Jin didn’t know what Ying Yue was thinking, she only thought that Ying Yue was still a in state of enlightenment and didn’t dare to interfere.
Ying Yue threw the matter in the back of her mind and smiled,
"Sister I broke through Level 2~"
Gu Jin smiled,
"So we should celebrate this, right?"
"Yes!" Ying Yue said with some excitement.
Gu Jin took Ying Yue to the market and returned to her room.
She was thinking about learning more about the plant elements.
However, there were two problems. First was Jasmine.
Even though the doctors could give acupuncture to Jasmine, Gu Jin had to keep tabs on her health parameters and the second was Ying Yue. She can’t leave Ying Yue in Long Mansion, right?
Gu Jin decided to put a hold on the matter for the time being.
What made Gu Jin worried was her alchemy cultivation. For the past 8 months, she was stuck in the Yellow Rank Peak Stage.
The worst part is Gu Jin keeps on feeling that the breakthrough was still far behind.
Uh...
Just as Gu Jin was worried about her alchemy cultivation, the school continued.
Teacher Fu entered the room and calmed everyone down,
"Okay, everyone. There is an important announcement that I would like to make."
All the students became attentive instantly.
Teacher Fu didn’t keep them in suspicion and said,
"You all have to select a minor and submit your respective choice by the end of the week. Those who fail to make a choice will be allotted to a random minor."
"What? Minor? What is that?"
"Uh...he means that we have to choose a supplementary field like Alchemy, Array Master, Armament, Magic Seeker, and Magic Awakener."
"Oh? Wow! I will go with alchemy then!"
"Really? Then be ready to bankrupt your entire family."
