The Mighty Mage -
Chapter 146: Mood Killer
Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Mood Killer
’You are interesting.’
’You will be mine’
There were also those arrogant boys.
Gu Jin was confident that if she wrote a book on 1001 domineering lines, she wouldn’t have to use her brain considering how many she had heard it.
Feng Tian: "..." How poisonous!
Gu Jin was a bit satisfied when she saw Feng Tians’ speechless face.
"Anything else?"
"You are a mood killer!" Feng Tian barked.
His good mood was instantly ruined.
Gu Jin smiled,
"I am not just a mood killer."
Now Feng Tian was a bit offended and said,
"Little girl let me tell you, I am someone that you will require 10’s years to become. To defeat me you will require at least 200 years."
Gu Jin shook her head, as she sat up and said,
"No one wants to become like you and one more thing, I wasn’t threatening you to kill."
It didn’t take a second for Gu Jin to understand why Feng Tian was offended.
Feng Tian relaxed a bit when he understood that he had misinterpreted Gu Jin’s words
Gu Jin continued,
"If you misunderstood my words then I am sorry for passing an ambiguous statement."
Feng Tian shook his head,
"It’s alright, but why are so poisonous?"
Gu Jin shrugged,
"I am poisonous just in front of you for now."
Feng Tian instantly highlighted the words ’you’ and ’now’
"Why?"
Gu Jin asked with an innocent expression,
"How would you react when you just got out of a dangerous situation and the moment you open your eyes, you see a complete stranger in front of you?
The stranger is claiming to be your half-savior and you can’t find your teammate."
Feng Tian felt enlightened and said,
"They are busy handling some procedure!"
Gu Jin raised an eyebrow.
"What?" Feng Tian acted as if he didn’t understand what she meant.
"What procedure could require an entire team to leave?"
Feng Tian was impressed by Gu Jin’s intelligence and said,
"You are smart."
"Don’t beat around the bush." Gu Jin said.
"They..."
Turns out the Rift Tracker was stolen by Xu Mingtao and when the authorities knew that it was stolen, Shadow Fangs and Feng Tian were already in Evergloom Forest.
Once they returned, Xu Mingtao and the entire team were arrested.
Since Feng Tian was powerful and the team had already said that Feng Tian was innocent, no one held him accountable.
Gu Jin was even more innocent. She was a person harmed by the earthquake and could be said a victim, so no one came after her.
Gu Jin’s eyebrows furrowed and she asked,
"How much time had passed?"
"2 days." Feng Tian said and Gu Jin instantly stood up.
For a moment she felt dizzy but she quickly recovered and took out her phone.
She messaged the head butler first.
"Where are they?" Gu Jin asked as she typed something furiously on her phone.
"I guess...jail?" Feng Tian said in an uncertain tone.
Gu Jin’s forehead twitched.
"For how long have they not returned?"
"2 days." Feng Tian said,
Gu Jin walked out of the hall with an ugly expression.
She directly went to the counter where Xiang Li was sitting.
"Where are they?" Gu Jin asked in rather a polite tone.
Xiang Li was stunned when he saw Gu Jin and subconsciously shrank.
Gu Jin narrowed her eyes and repeated her sentence.
Xiang Li coughed and said,
"They are held in jail. If you want to meet them you can..."
He told her the path she should take and turned silent once he finished his words.
Gu Jin nodded and asked lightly,
"Are they alright?"
Xiang Li was silent.
Gu Jin narrowed her eyes and left after saying,
"If anything happens to them just see how I will deal with the Undercity division of yours and you."
Xiang Li heaved a sigh of relief, once Gu Jin left.
Anyways, even if that guy knows something in the end, he won’t be able to blame him(Xiang Li).
Gu Jin soon reached the jail of the Undercity Division.
On reaching the desk she asked about Zhang Wei and the team.
The police officer sitting at the desk yawned lightly and said,
"Visiting hours are over, visit them 2 days later."
Gu Jin narrowed her eyes and asked,
"According to the rule, a person can visit any prisoner in the time frame of 10 am to 4 pm. Currently, it is 11 am, how can the visiting hours be over?"
The police officer laid on his desk and waved at Gu Jin,
"Leave. They can’t meet anyone before 2 days."
Gu Jin’s forehead twitched in anger and she turned to look at the head of the police force, Captain Si.
However, she came to know that Captain Si was away from the undercity division due to some work.
Gu Jin felt a bit anxious and just as she was considering whether she should call Long Yifan for help, a lawyer and businessmen arrived at the police station.
The lawyer politely asked Gu Jin,
"Ma’am is your work finished?"
Gu Jin subconsciously stepped back and the lawyer smiled.
The lawyer then looked at the police officer and said,
"Mr. Zhang?"
Police Officer Zhang lifted his head with irritation but the moment he saw the lawyer blood drained from his face.
"Lawyer Justin?"
Justin Lee nodded and looked at Police Officer Zhang sharply as he said,
"Can I...where is Tan...the member of Shadow Fangs kept? I want to bail them out."’
He wants to bail out the Shadow Fangs? Gu Jin was instantly relieved.
From the tone of the lawyer named Justin and the look on that police officer’s face, Gu Jin knew that Lawyer Justin was some bigshot.
She didn’t rush to introduce herself though. Her main goal was now Shadow Fangs and as long as those guys were alright she would calmly leave the place.
Justin Lee continued, his voice firm and authoritative.
"I have all the necessary paperwork to secure their release. According to the law, they are entitled to bail, and there are no grounds for denying them their rights."
Police Officer Zhang hesitated, his face pale as he glanced nervously at the documents Justin was holding.
"Well, uh... there seems to be a misunderstanding. I was just following orders."
Justin’s expression hardened.
"If there’s a misunderstanding, it needs to be rectified immediately. Now, please proceed with the release process."
The color drained from Police Officer Zhang’s face.
Seeing him silent, the businessman, the Lawyer, and Gu Jin’s face turned dark.
How could they not understand that something was amiss?
The air was thick with tension as everyone waited for Officer Zhang to respond. He finally muttered,
"I need to make a call," and walked away hurriedly.
Gu Jin’s eyes darkened.
She felt as if something wrong was happening.
However, after two minutes, Officer Zhang returned, his face even paler.
"I’ve been instructed to release the Shadow Fangs immediately. If you follow me, we can start the paperwork."
Gu Jin, Justine Lee, and the businessman heaved a sigh of relief.
Officer Zhang led them through a series of corridors to a small office where the release paperwork awaited.
Gu Jin too followed them.
The man in the business suit couldn’t help but frown and ask,
"Hey, young man why are you following us?"
Gu Jin said calmly,
"I am one of the members of Shadow Fangs."
Lawyer Justin finally turned to look at Gu Jin and after a look, he turned away as if he didn’t see Gu Jin at all.
The businessman asked in a shrewd tone,
"Oh? So why are you out of jail while the rest of the members are inside the jail?"
Gu Jin remained silent and followed. Seeing that Gu Jin had no plan to answer him, the businessman rolled his eyes and continued to walk forward.
Once inside the small office, Officer Zhang sat down and began organizing the paperwork.
As the paperwork was being filled out, the businessman, Tang Wei, couldn’t help but prod further, his curiosity clearly piqued.
"Young man, you still haven’t answered my question. Why were you out while the rest of your team was locked up?"
Gu Jin met his gaze steadily.
"I was injured during the mission and was taken to a hospital. When I woke up, I found out my team had been arrested."
Tang Wei seemed to consider this explanation, nodding slowly.
"I see. That makes sense."
Officer Zhang handed over the final documents for signatures, and soon enough, Zhang Wei and the rest of the team were officially released.
As they walked out of the police station, Gu Jin was instantly angry when she saw their face.
All five members were beaten so badly that they could barely walk without assistance. Gu Jin’s eyes narrowed, and her fists clenched at her sides.
She could feel her blood boiling with rage.
Even Lawyers Justin Lee and Tang Wei were filled with anger.
They all turned to look at the Police Officer Zhang who lowered his head in shame.
