Chapter 127: Narrow Gorge

Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Narrow Gorge

Yi Ran’s gentle healing magic washed over the team, soothing their wounds and restoring their strength as they continued to fend off the relentless onslaught of the beasts.

Gu Jin caught any Catalopes who were able to rush past the barrier and even bypass Tang Guan.

But despite their valiant efforts, the Catalopes continued to press forward, their relentless attacks wearing down the team’s defenses with each passing moment.

Zhang Wei gritted his teeth as he surveyed the battlefield, his eyes narrowed with determination.

"We need to change tactics," he shouted above the din of battle. "We can’t hold them off like this forever."

As the Catalopes continued their relentless assault on the team, Gu Jin’s mind raced with possibilities.

She knew they couldn’t keep up their current strategy forever – they needed to find a way to gain the upper hand and turn the tide of battle in their favor.

With a sudden burst of inspiration, Gu Jin’s eyes lit up as an idea began to form in her mind.

She quickly glanced around at her teammates, noting their positions and abilities, and then turned her attention back to the encroaching Catalopes.

"We need to change our approach," Gu Jin shouted above the chaos of battle, her voice cutting through the clamor with determination.

"We can’t keep defending like this – we need to take the fight to them!"

Her words caught the attention of Zhang Wei and the others, who turned to look at her with curiosity and anticipation.

"What do you have in mind?" Zhang Wei asked, his brow furrowed with concern.

Gu Jin grinned confidently, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she outlined her plan.

"We need to create a diversion," she explained, her voice brimming with enthusiasm.

She explained her plan to everyone.

Zhang Wei nodded in agreement, his expression thoughtful as he considered Gu Jin’s suggestion.

"It’s risky," he admitted, his tone cautious.

"But it might be our best chance at turning the tide of battle in our favor."

With a nod of determination, the team sprang into action, as they prepared to execute Gu Jin’s plan.

Xu Mingtao summoned a swirling vortex of water around the car, creating a barrier to shield them from the Catalopes’ attacks.

Liu Sunhao continued to unleash bolts of lightning, driving back the advancing beasts with his electrifying magic.

Tang Guan conjured flames and ice shards, creating a deadly barrier of fire and frost to keep the Catalopes at bay.

Yi Ran focused on healing any injuries sustained during the battle, her gentle magic washing over the team like a soothing balm.

Meanwhile, Gu Jin focused her attention on creating a diversion, channeling her plant elemental powers to manipulate the surrounding foliage and create a decoy to draw the Catalopes away from the car.

With a wave of her hand, vines and branches sprang to life, twisting and writhing in the air, Yi Ran suddenly used her psychic element to form a lifelike illusion of the team fleeing through the forest.

The Catalopes, their senses deceived by Yi Ran’s illusion, surged forward in pursuit, their red eyes blazing with fury as they chased after the phantom images.

As the beasts charged blindly into the forest, the team seized the opportunity to drive away and come up with a new strategy.

Even though the Catalopes were confused by the illusion, for now, they would soon realize, that they were decided and within no time they would then catch up with them.

As Zhang Wei had said earlier they have kneen senses.

"We need to find a way to neutralize the Catalopes without resorting to brute force," Zhang Wei declared, his voice filled with determination.

Gu Jin nodded in agreement, her mind racing with possibilities as she considered their options.

"We could try luring them into a trap," she suggested, her voice brimming with excitement.

"If we can lead them into an area with natural hazards or environmental obstacles, we might be able to incapacitate them without risking a direct confrontation."

Zhang Wei’s eyes lit up with approval as he considered Gu Jin’s suggestion.

"It’s worth a shot," he agreed, his tone filled with determination.

"Let’s see if we can use the terrain to our advantage and turn the Catalopes’ own strength against them."

As they navigated through the dense foliage, Gu Jin’s keen eyes scanned the surroundings, searching for any signs of potential hazards or environmental obstacles they could use to their advantage.

And then, she spotted it – a narrow gorge, its rocky walls stretching up towards the sky like towering sentinels, with a swift-flowing river rushing through its depths below.

"It’s perfect," Gu Jin exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement as she pointed towards the gorge.

"If we can lure the Catalopes into the gorge, we can use the river to sweep them away and neutralize the threat once and for all."

Zhang Wei’s eyes gleamed with approval as he surveyed the gorge, nodding in agreement at Gu Jin’s suggestion.

"Let’s set the trap," he declared, his voice filled with determination.

"We’ll need to work quickly and efficiently if we want to catch the Catalopes off guard."

With that, the team sprang into action, their movements swift and coordinated as they set about preparing the trap.

Xu Mingtao summoned a swirling vortex of water, creating a barrier to guide the Catalopes towards the gorge.

Liu Sunhao unleashed bolts of lightning, driving the beasts forward with electrifying force.

Tang Guan conjured flames and ice shards, creating a wall of fire and frost to corral the Catalopes toward their intended destination.

Meanwhile, Gu Jin focused her attention on manipulating the surrounding foliage, using her plant elemental powers to create obstacles and barriers to funnel the Catalopes toward the gorge.

And just as they hade expected the Catalopes soon found them. But this time the team was prepared and once the Catalope appeared, each of nodded their head to each other.

Whoosh.

Vines and branches twisted and writhed in the air, forming a tangled maze of vegetation that blocked the Catalopes’ escape routes and forced them toward the waiting trap.
