Gu Jin hurriedly tried to stop them,

"Stop! Please! I am serious! He didn’t hurt me!"

Old Wu turned around as he started connecting the star path,

"Jin, don’t worry! We will seek justice for you! You don’t need to be afraid of him! We are here! We will protect you!"

Gu Jin shook her head,

"No! I am telling the truth he saved me!"

Old Wu had already attacked Long Yifan. A dark red fireball made its way towards Long Yifan. It may seem like a normal attack but since it was a super spell, only Long Yifan and Old Wu how much intensity it had.

If it touched Long Yifan even a bit he would be burned completely.

Yet Long Yifan didn’t move away and calmly waited for the fireball.

Within a microsecond the fireball reached Long Yifan and just when it was about to touch Long Yifan, a protective barrier deflated it.

Seeing the slight crack in the barrier, Long Yifan chuckled as he said,

"Elder Wu you are truly not showing any mercy."

Old Wu chuckled coldly as he said,

"Oh? Shouldn’t you blame yourself? Don’t you feel ashamed after threatening a girl?"

Long Yifan’s lip twitched.

Did he threaten Gu Jin?

Nope!

"Since you are so merciless, then don’t blame me for being ruthless too." Long Yifan chuckled and started connecting his star path.

By this time Old Xiang and Old Fan had already connected the star path too.

Gu Jin’s head was aching just after seeing the scene and she tried to calm them down as she said,

"Please wait! Listen to me!"

Old Xiang consoled Gu Jin,

"Jin trust us! With us here, he can’t harm you!"

Gu Jin knew that they were only concerned for her safety, but she also knew that Long Yifan was not their enemy. In fact, he had saved her from a dangerous situation.

"Please, just hear me out," Gu Jin pleaded, hoping to diffuse the tension in the room.

Old Fan and Old Xiang exchanged hesitant glances, while Old Wu remained steadfast in his determination to protect Gu Jin.

"Jin, we only want what’s best for you," Old Fan said gently, his expression softening slightly.

Gu Jin took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts before she began to explain.

"Long Yifan didn’t kidnap me. He saved me from a dangerous situation," Gu Jin started, her voice steady despite the nervous flutter in her chest.

"He’s not my enemy, he’s my ally. I owe him my life," she continued, meeting their gazes with earnest sincerity.

Old Xiang furrowed his brow, clearly conflicted by Gu Jin’s words,

"Hm? What happened?"

Long Yifan was done with his preparation by now, however seeing that Gu Jin had controlled the elders, he stopped.

Gu Jin hurriedly explained to them,

"In fact that day..."

And then she told them everything. Of course, her story had some loopholes such as how she ended up in Long Yifan’s mansion.

Yet she tried to make it as logical as possible.

Old Xiang frowned and looked at Long Yifan warily as he asked,

"Are you sure that he wasn’t the kidnapper?"

Gu Jin nodded her head with certainty.

Not once did she doubt that it was Long Yifan who kidnapped her.

Reason?

Well because of her analysis.

First of all, why would Long Yifan kidnap her? Even though she did have enmity with him, she had heard Liu Wang say Young Master Sang’s name.

Also, even if Long Yifan was the one who kidnapped her, he wouldn’t be foolish enough to bring her to his mansion when he already had he under his control.

"But who exactly kidnapped you if not him?" Old Wu asked with a frown.

"Someone named Young Master Sang." Gu Jin replied.

"Why?"

"Because he wanted to turn her into a furnace." Long Yifan said. He didn’t want to hide the truth from the elders.

Considering their reaction just now it was clear that they care for Gu Jin, a lot.

Gu Jin had fallen to such a state this time because she didn’t have much help and whichever helper she tried to contact, was already misled by those subordinates of Young Master Sang.

If only her helper had known that she was in danger before her kidnapping then she wouldn’t have to tolerate whatever she tolerated.

So it was better to tell her helpers that she had suffered so much if only they had taken action earlier.

It would be better if they created some code word, by which the Elder could instantly understand that Gu Jin was in danger.

"Furnace? You mean the furnace we use to create the herbs?"Old Fan asked with a dumbfounded expression.

On the other hand, Gu Jin felt that the word furnace was not as simple as Old Fan was thinking.

"Nope." Long Yifan said while sipping on the tea with a calm expression.

Old Wu asked with difficulty,

"Are you sure that he wanted to turn her into a furnace? But...isn’t that technique unknown and banned, how does Young Master Sang know it?"

Long Yifan placed the cup on the table and said with a playful expression,

"Do you think that wealthy families abide by the rule?"

Old Wu’s expression turned dark before he asked with a heavy heart,

"Elder Wu I thought that you were intelligent but looks like I have overestimated you." Long Yifan chuckled.

Gu Jin saw how Elder Wu’s entire face turned pale.

And she instantly knew that the word ’furnace’ triggered him.

With curiosity, Gu Jin asked Long Yifan,

"What does being ’furnace’ mean?"

Long Yifan, Old Wu, Old Xiang, and Old Fan froze for a second. Each of them looked at each other and finally shook their head in unison.

"It’s nothing..." Old Wu shook his head.

"Yes, it’s nothing..." Old Xiang followed.

"Jin why are you even asking about things that have not happened...." Old Fan said with a forced smile.

"I will make some tea." Long Yifan said as he poured tea in four cups.

Gu Jin frowned as she said,

"Even if you all don’t tell me I will know! After all, even though I don’t know much I have heard their conversation not to mention if I get deceived someday because of my ignorance then I will blame you all..."

Long Yifan raised an eyebrow at Gu Jin’s assertiveness, a small smirk playing on his lips. "Well, aren’t you full of confidence, Miss Gu?" he remarked, amusement dancing in his eyes.

He remembered how this girl dared to stand in front of him with confidence and say that she could cure his sister, even though she knew that he could kill her.

She didn’t even hesitate to hug him after knowing his track record of bullying...

Truly...can such girl be deceived?

Old Wu, Old Xiang, and Old Fan exchanged uneasy glances, clearly hesitant to divulge the true meaning of the term "furnace" to Gu Jin.

It was evident that they were trying to protect her from the harsh realities of the world they inhabited.

Gu Jin, however, was determined to uncover the truth.

She had already endured enough danger and secrecy, and she refused to be kept in the dark any longer.

"Please, I need to know," Gu Jin insisted, her voice firm and unwavering.

With a sigh, Old Wu relented, realizing that Gu Jin wouldn’t be deterred. "Very well," he said reluctantly, his expression grave.

"But you must understand, what I am about to tell you is not easy to hear."

Gu Jin nodded.

She wanted to tell him that she knew many cruel things and that his words would hardly affect her, but then again it was of no use considering how humans only focus on their emotions rather than others’ pain.

"Furnace means that turning a girl’s body into a mere tool for increasing the cultivation. It was an accidentally discovered technique.

By doing certain changes to a girl’s or woman’s body, the energy absorbed by them can be used to increase the cultivation of people who will have...you know....that..."

Long Yifan chuckled as he said,
