The Mightiest Little Master of Metaphysics -
Chapter 57 The Envoy
Chapter 57: Chapter 57 The Envoy
Yun Ying didn’t come down for dinner; instead, she locked herself in her room.
The Old Master sent someone to deliver her food, but she didn’t eat it and just left it at the door.
The whole Yun Family was very quiet.
Until midnight, a surprise visitor suddenly appeared in Yun Qi’s room.
It was that Yin Cha from before, who no longer held the cold arrogance he showed in front of the Xuan Sect members. He appeared before Yun Qi, respectfully bowing with a hint of awe in his indifferent tone, "Envoy, sir."
It was already late night; Yun Qi struggled to resist sleepiness, yawning repeatedly, and said in a barely clear childish voice, "Mm."
"Thank you for your trouble today."
Yin Cha was somewhat flattered, "Don’t mention it; it was just my duty. About Yun Ying... should I give her some punishment?"
"No need," Yun Qi, too sleepy to open her eyes, tried hard to squint to keep herself from falling asleep, and mumbled, "I don’t want Grandpa to be sad."
"Understood."
"If there’s nothing else, you can go back to your duties." Yun Qi mimicked the adults, waving her hand in a very formal manner.
"Understood."
As his words fell, Yin Cha transformed into a mass of Black Fog and disappeared.
Yun Qi yawned, tilted her small body, and fell asleep.
The room was filled only with her gentle and steady breathing.
The next day, Yun Ying finally came downstairs with swollen eyes, her face full of guilt, and headed to the dining room.
The Old Master saw her coming, slowly lifted his head, and glanced at her.
No matter how many words were in his heart, he couldn’t say them at that moment.
He spoke lightly, "Come eat, it’s all your favorite dishes."
Yun Ying lowered her head, biting her lip, and pulled out a chair to sit down.
Yun Qi blinked, turned her head, and ate her own meal, but slowed her movements and softened her sounds.
Afraid to provoke this petty-minded sister again.
Not really afraid of her, just not wanting to put Grandpa in a difficult position.
After a few bites, Yun Ying finally spoke with difficulty, "Grandpa, yesterday..."
The Old Master raised his hand to stop her, sighing, "Yun Ying, there’s one thing Grandpa must let you know. You and Yun Qi are both Grandpa’s granddaughters, and Grandpa loves you both equally. Qi is still young; what she has now, you also had before. She was sent to the mountain at the age of one, not by Grandpa’s side. Grandpa believes there’s no wrong in pampering her a little more. You’re already grown up; you should have a wider world."
Competing for affection with a five-year-old is truly disgraceful.
This line did not leave the Old Master’s mouth, as he wanted to save some face for Yun Ying.
"Grandpa, I was wrong. I wanted to prove myself too much," Yun Ying said, tears streaming down her face.
"Forget it, being strong isn’t a bad thing; you’ll understand in time."
Yun Ying bit her lip, "Grandpa, since it’s summer vacation, I want to go for a spiritual retreat at the Three Pure Ones Temple."
"Alright, go if you want, bring what you like, don’t make it hard on yourself."
Yun Ying nodded, nibbling on her omelette with sorrow, stealing glances at Yun Qi from the corner of her eye.
Why is this little girl so quiet and low-key? Could it be she’s putting on this act on purpose seeing her downfall to make herself look good?
After breakfast, Yun Ying spent the whole day packing. The Three Pure Ones Temple is an old Taoist temple, later abandoned for various reasons and renovated by the Yun Family, allowing them to easily go up the mountain for seclusion.
Now the mountain is equipped with internet and running water, so the conditions aren’t too harsh. Yun Ying packed her belongings, planning to stay there for at least a month until yesterday’s incident gradually faded away before returning.
Otherwise, she couldn’t possibly stay in this home, and once summer vacation ends, family members could come back gradually.
By then, she’ll have more supporters.
While thinking this, she suddenly received a call from her big brother. Hearing his voice, Yun Ying couldn’t help but cry.
Yun Kuang was shocked, "Sister, what’s wrong, who bullied you?"
