The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride -
Chapter 586: Plain foolishness
Chapter 586: Plain foolishness
Something was wrong, but going there would be even more dangerous. They would be able to support her more if they stayed here in this circle since they could still share their Magna even when they weren’t holding hands.
The burning flame in the middle of the star was an indication that she was alright, but...
Why did her hand slip like that from Nathaniel’s grip in the first place when they had bonded it with a spell? It wasn’t possible until someone deliberately broke the bond by hurting Elliana, or Elliana did it herself to stop them from feeling what she was about to -
Nathaniel gulped.
He didn’t need to be told out of both the options, which was right. His heart drummed against his chest.
Pluto placed his hand on his friend’s shoulder before squeezing it.
"Everything will be alright," He whispered before looking at Caesar.
This was probably the time for it.
"Activate your dragon," He wrote on the sand with his right hand, ensuring no one saw his slick move.
Caesar looked at the sand before looking into Pluto’s eyes who nodded at him.
If Elliana broke the bond like this, it only meant one thing. She encountered a problem she knew was hard to deal with, which meant she would be breaking the prism soon and sending King Eros back soon.
The Magna incubator was already prepared for him to survive since they didn’t know in what kind of conditions he was being kept. Exposing him to natural habitat immediately can be risky, and that was why on Nathaniel’s suggestion, they did it.
Pluto took a deep shaky breath.
’Please be alright, Elliana. Many people have their happiness depended on you. And I don’t want to sound like a coward, but I want to live a long life. I don’t want to die in your husband’s hands,’ Pluto thought in his head, hoping Elliana could hear it.
Meanwhile, in Magical Realism, Elliana smiled at Azrael, confusing the woman.
Azrael expected to see panic and bewilderment on the little girl’s face, but why was she smiling like she won? It wasn’t supposed to be like this at all.
Could it be that she was just pretending to be calm to catch her off-guard later? After all, Elliana had a history of using the most unique ideas to make things work in her favour.
"Have you finally lost your mind after fighting me all this time?" Azrael said, wanting to provoke the girl, who shook her head.
Rather than answering Azrael, Elliana looked at the girl who was looking a hell lot like Arizona and finally said the words that she wanted to ask since she saw her.
"So you are Queen Arizona’s out-of-wedlock daughter?" Elliana asked, and the expression on the girl’s face froze for a second, probably not expecting this choice of words from Elliana.
"I... I... " The girl stuttered, her fists clenched by her side before she scratched her hands behind her back, clearly awkward, something not going unnoticed by Elliana.
She was clearly nervous to talk about it.
Elliana sighed and walked to the Prism before touching it, removing her hand as soon as she touched it. It almost felt like she was placing her hand on something burning.
"What are you doing?" Azrael asked, confused.
"What do you think I am doing?" Elliana asked.
"Are you not afraid of me?" Azrael asked, and a scoff left Elliana’s mouth, making the witch look at the girl in a new light.
She clearly knew that she was pretty much screwed, but she still had the nerve to scoff at her? It was quite interesting.
"I am freeing my dad since that’s what I was here for," Elliana said after a few seconds, as she processed how to open the prism.
Earlier, she could see that all she had to do was perform the task, keep herself alive till the next gate, and then open it through her Magna.
But this time, she was quite unsure how to do it.
First, she had no idea how much Magna this prism would suck since there were no tasks and it was the ultimate lock. Second, could she really afford to lose that much Magna when Azrael was standing right in front of her, ready to pounce on her and kidnap her father the moment she let her guard down?
"You are going to unlock the Prism using your magna to free your father despite the fact that I am here? Is this some kind of joke? What makes you so confident in yourself?" Azrael asked, a little impressed by the fearless girl.
Even though Elliana was her sister’s daughter, and someone she intended to kill for her love and revenge, Azura knew that deep down, she would always respect the little girl’s resilience which was far better and stronger than her sisters, in fact, it was stronger than hers too.
Elliana didn’t say anything for a few seconds and just turned to her.
"What do you see in my eyes?" Elliana asked.
"Foolishness," Azrael answers with a doubt.
Elliana smiled and nodded.
"You are right. I am a fool. That’s why I am going to do something that you could never do for your love," Elliana said before she closed her eyes and looked at Circe, who looked back at her with a concerned expression on their face.
"Are you sure about it?" Circe asked, hesitating a bit.
"Have I ever decided anything with hesitation? I always go all in into it, don’t I?" Elliana asked them with a smile and Circe closed their eyes for a few seconds, taking a deep shaky breath on Elliana’s behalf.
They looked at their human counterpart, applauding her braveness in their hearts.
Elliana knew what kind of pain she was bringing upon herself by doing this, but she still wanted to do it, and since it was their human order, they were left with no choice.
"Loslassen," Elliana whispered before she bit hard into her right hand, right in front of the two women, letting her blood drip down in the magical realism before she placed her hand on the invisible prism, clenching her eyes shut as the prism started to suck the blood out of her, the color changing to red.
Azrael widened her eyes.
Was this real bravery or plain stupidity?
