The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride -
Chapter 584: She reached there.
Chapter 584: She reached there.
Elliana opened her eyes as soon as she felt herself being teleported into the unknown regions and looked around carefully.
Nathaniel was right.
This was harder than she had thought and guessed.
Since Leila had taken her through the maze of magical realism last time, she had probably turned off all the protective measures of this realism.
Just like there’s a difference between entering the room with a key and literally breaking the locks and doors to enter the room, things were different this time since they didn’t know how to turn the maze off.
Elliana stepped ahead, looking at her hand where the glowing mark on her right hand was, a clear indication that she was connected with the real world with Nathaniel’s grip on her hand.
She took a deep breath, looking around.
This place was supposed to be lit up. Why was it so dark in here? She wondered before stepping ahead, clenching her hands to keep her fingers from trembling.
She closed her eyes briefly when she saw the first lock on the magical realism.
"Freischalten," Elliana whispered, placing her hand on the lock.
Click! Click! Clack! Three different sounds echoed in her ears before the sound of chains moving inside the door resounded. Elliana stepped back from the door, unsure of how things were supposed to be.
According to what her mother said, there would be five more such locks. Seeing the door opening slowly, Elliana heaved a breath of relief and stepped ahead.
However, as soon as she stepped ahead, she jumped back in her place when she noticed a ditch. The path suddenly broke and torches lit up around her. It was like one of those quests where the candidate looking for treasure has to go through different things and pass different tasks by using their intelligence if they want to live.
Elliana squinted her brows and nodded at Circe.
She wasn’t stupid to try jumping on the large rocks and falling into the ditch which contained molten lava. With the help of her magic, she made a straight path through the area, a smile appearing on her face.
Elliana started moving on the thin path, when suddenly some molten lava sprinkled on her foot, making her almost lose her balance.
As soon as Elliana lost her footing, Nathaniel’s grip on her hand loosened and he widened his eyes.
"Elliana! Be careful," Nathaniel shouted, hoping she would hear him.
"Why? What happened?" Sebastian immediately rushed forward, stopping at some distance, his heart picking its pace.
Nathaniel bit his bottom lip and shook his head.
"It’s nothing. My hand just loosened on her, and I was warning her to not go too fast," Nathaniel took the blame on himself so that the others, especially Azura, didn’t end up worrying.
Sebastian nodded at him and went back to sit on the stone as he waited for his wife to return.
It has been 40 seconds already since she left.
He rocked himself back and forth while shaking his foot in anticipation.
"She is fine, Sebastian," Nathaniel said again.
Meanwhile, Elliana took a deep breath once she got a hold of her heartbeat which had accelerated in fear before she started walking again, finally reaching the end of the path.
She noticed how as soon as she placed her foot on the end platform, the torch that had lit up earlier, went off and she looked ahead, trying to decipher which path to choose out of the three.
"What should I do here, Circe? Is there a way to get out of this situation?" Elliana asked her powers who pressed their lips into a thin line.
’Trust your intuition. You won’t die here. We won’t let that happen,’ Circe said and Elliana hummed, looking at the three paths before closing her eyes to concentrate and see if she heard something weird from any path.
After thinking for some time, she finally decided to go with the left path since the right one was mostly not right in such situations.
She chuckled at herself for this kind of thinking. Her mind was really thinking of jokes at a time like this when she could get literally fried in the molten lava without any oil.
She hesitated at the entrance of the path before looking at her hand. The mark was still glowing.
If anything wrong happens, Nathaniel will pull her back, right? Elliana took a deep breath and patted her chest to relieve her heart which was beating fast from the anticipation.
’I fear nobody. I am a winner in life, and I always get what I want.
There is no need to fear when the moon goddess has her hand on me,
My husband is the strongest of all, and he will protect me at all cost, fighting the demons for me,’ Elliana sang the song in her head with a soft smile on her face, to keep herself motivated, and ready to face the next challenge that was about to come.
She took a few more steps, stopping with a gasp when a steel blade flew from right in front of her, almost cutting her face in half, making her stumble back.
’Elliana, be careful of every step you take,’ Elliana reminded herself.
She looked down at the weird blocks that had different patterns drawn on them before looking on either side of what looked like a long hall.
There were small statues adjacent to each block. She looked at the setup carefully, finally realizing what this was all about.
"Seriously? They could’ve come up with a better plan," Elliana whispered before she created a few magna balls. She dropped the ball on the first block, and when she didn’t see a dagger coming out, she stepped on the block before repeating the process.
However, as soon as she dropped the ball this time, a dagger was shot at the speed of light, making her hair flail because of the speed of air.
She gulped and cleared her throat.
If only she could teleport herself directly inside the magical realism, she wouldn’t have to go through all this. These things were only delaying her time, and it was one thing she was most worried about.
Elliana cursed under her breath before she started dropping balls, and jumping on the blocks repeating the same method.
She crossed four more gates completing such tasks, finally taking a deep breath as she stood in front of the final gate that was supposed to lead her to the magical realism where her father was held captive.
"I have come here, father. Don’t be scared anymore. I will take you back home today," Elliana whispered, stumbling back as her head started to get slightly dizzy.
She shook her head to clear her vision before clearing her throat.
Now she could see why it was so hard to unlock a magical realism on your own. Almost more than 70% of her Magna that she had collected so far was used by this process, and she didn’t know if she would’ve been able to survive this if Nathaniel and Pluto weren’t giving her their constant Magna support.
Nathaniel, who felt a shift in Elliana’s emotions through the Magna sharing connection, pressed his lips into a thin line.
"Hang in there, Princess. Only you can do this," he whispered to the bond.
Pluto looked at his best friend, who was so worried before shifting his gaze to Azura who had been chanting the spells repeatedly from the moment Elliana left, without taking a breath.
She stored enough oxygen in her lungs through her Magna to last her for fifteen minutes so that she didn’t waste a single second even breathing. Her daughter’s life was in danger after all.
Pluto looked at Caesar, who was holding his hand and was sitting with his eyes closed.
Elliana called Caesar for one reason, to be able to use his dragon if things went haywire inside the magical realism.
It was something that Elliana only told him.
She was planning to send her father back using Caesar’s dragon. Just in case Arizona or Azrael got a hold of her, at least her father would be safe.
Naturally, he was against the plans, but Elliana said she wanted to do this for her half-brother who had sacrificed his entire life for her safety and Pluto couldn’t deny it anymore.
Everyone in the witch world knew how much Nathaniel, the hybrid prince, loved his father and yearned for his love.
Pluto looked at Sebastian, who was pacing at some distance and gulped.
As much as he was proud of being an eleventh-grade witch, even he knew he was no match in front of Sebastian, who would twist his neck the moment he heard that he knew about everything Elliana was planning if something went wrong.
Thus, he could only pray for her safe return. Pluto sighed.
Meanwhile, Elliana placed her hand on the mark, to warn Nathaniel that she would be needing a lot of Magna for this final gate.
She closed her eyes and placed her hand on the lock of the door.
"Freischalten," Elliana whispered, clenching her eyes shut as she felt a weird striking pain in her chest.
She was about to think her Magna wasn’t enough and was about to call Nathaniel to share more Magna when the sound of the unlocking of the door resounded in the area and Elliana held her breath, ready to see her father.
However, what she saw next, made her clench her teeth.
"So you finally made it here. Quite impressive,"
The woman in front of her said with a smirk on her face.
