The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride -
Chapter 563: Came to meet her
Chapter 563: Came to meet her
"Who asked you to get emotional over such a small thing? Don’t blame it on me and -" Elliana couldn’t complete her words when Vincenzo walked to her and hugged her, taking the girl by surprise.
Vincenzo didn’t know why he was feeling like that. Was it because he overheard Sebastian’s words when he was talking to Lucas that the siren queen said the princess might not survive after two months? And how he was going to do everything in his power to make that queen change her words.
Was it because Glory, who always had a tough life, was still suffering even when she was supposed to live a good life after finding happiness? Or was it because she wanted to hide such an important truth from everyone because she didn’t want others to get hurt?
He didn’t know this feeling of loss and grief in his heart. She had a clear-cut reason to suspect him. In fact, if it had been any other royal, they would’ve surely interrogated him, but she didn’t even mention it to him until he asked her about it.
"Mr. Vampire, I hope you know that you are being very inappropriate hugging your sister-in-law," Elliana deliberately said to tease him.
"Shut up. I am hugging my best friend," Vincenzo smacked the back of her head, making her hmph loudly before she pushed him away.
The man wiped the little wetness in the corner of his eyes before smiling at the girl.
No. He can’t show emotions just like that. He needed to stay strong for his friend.
Sebastian said something about collecting the Magna of Witches. He had no idea what it was and how it was done, thus, he wouldn’t be able to do anything regarding it, but he would ensure she is safe when Sebastian is busy. He won’t allow any witch by her side even if he had to lay down his life for his brother and this best friend who held him in his darkest times.
"When do you need to leave for the battle?" Vincenzo asked.
Elliana licked her bottom lip before sighing, her gaze falling back on the book on the side of the carpet.
"In forty-five minutes," Elliana’s expression turned neutral, her eyes trying best to hide her nervousness and wariness regarding the matter.
"You’ll do great," Vincenzo said, making the girl nod.
He was about to tell her that he would ask Sebastian to return and go with her when he received a call and he walked out of the room to take the important call.
As soon as Vincenzo left, Elliana stood from her place and walked to the mirror, clicking her fingers to change her outfit to a more fitting one.
She chose to wear latex pants along with a latex tube top. She clicked her fingers again to wear a soft flowy crop top over her latex top. Along with that, she chose to wear a cloak today, the cloak that her mother gave to her, a symbol of being a dark witch.
Elliana smiled at the small butterfly on the cloak that her mother put on it. Her mother said that it would remind her that her mother is always looking after her and she isn’t alone in this world.
Though Elliana knew her mother wouldn’t be able to do much when it came to fighting her sisters, she still felt great hearing this sentence that she yearned to hear all her life.
"You look amazing," She heard a familiar voice and turned to look at the lady who entered the room, making her sigh.
"Mom Freya, about what happened in the field -"
"Vincenzo told me everything," Freya said, and Elliana paused.
Vincenzo told her everything? To what extent did he share with Mom Freya? Prince Angelo was her son. There was no way he would tell her that, right?
"Is that so?" Elliana asked, testing the waters.
"Yes. I didn’t know you guys made a bet like that. If it was like that, you should’ve informed the family first. We got so worried," Freya said, and Elliana squinted her brows softly.
"Did he tell you who won?" Elliana asked.
"Come on, Princess. You don’t have to be ashamed of that. Vincenzo has always been meticulous like that. Besides, anyone would have gotten angry after getting provoked like that. It’s not your fault," Freya said and Elliana smiled.
"I didn’t want to get angry -"
"As I said, it’s okay. Don’t think too much about it. Everything is alright as long as both of you are fine," Freya said.
"The ladies were hoping you would like to come shopping with us after your battle," Freya said.
Elliana smiled with a nod.
Freya said a few more comforting words to her before leaving, and Elliana finally dropped the smile on her face.
She looked at the time and took a deep breath, flipping a few pages hurriedly to look into a couple of spells.
"Princess, are you -" Sebastian walked inside the room, his hurried expression immediately turning soft when he looked at his worried wife.
"My Cara," Sebastian said softly, catching her attention.
"I don’t want to mess up," Elliana said, dropping her guard in front of one man she knew would always hold her.
"You won’t. You are capable of anything and everything. I trust you, my love. You will do great. Even if you can’t win this battle, I assure you things will work our way. Do you know why?" Sebastian sat on his ankles in front of her, holding her hands on her lap as he looked up at her.
"Why?" Elliana asked in a mere whisper.
"Because you are sweet and good-hearted. The moon goddess won’t hurt a good person more than they can take. And more than that, because I will do everything to make things work your way," Sebastian said before he sat on his knees between her legs and pecked her lips.
"I love you, my Princess. Never forget that you are always a winner in my eyes," Sebastian said.
Elliana chuckled, wiping the tears from her eyes.
"Your words are strangely comforting and provoking. You are calling me a winner but talking like you are unsure I would win," She said, making the man smile.
"Let’s go and show them who my wife is, yeah?
"Will you stand outside the field to cheer for me?" Elliana asked and Sebastian hummed.
"You will always find me standing on the sidelines, cheering for you, ready to protect you," He tucked her hair behind her ears before smiling mischievously.
"And after you win, I would like to unwrap this gift," Sebastian tapped her chest, making Elliana blush scarlet red as she pushed him away.
"Your thoughts are so lewd, Mr. Marino," She said and the man grinned before kissing her palms.
"I am downstairs. Let me explain things to Prince Stephano and Santo to handle the meetings while I am gone. Okay? Come downstairs when you are ready," Sebastian pecked her forehead and Elliana nodded, looking at the back of the leading man.
’He trusts us. We trust you too. Don’t overthink anything and just get into it,’ Circe said, encouraging Elliana who nodded back.
She checked her reflection in the mirror one last time after closing the ancient book and making it disappear into her magical realm that she was learning about slowly from Nathaniel.
Elliana was about to leave her room, when her heart thumped loudly, making a drumming sound echo in her ears.
Her body and aura became sensitive and her powers stood, alert.
She looked around, her pupils dilating when she noticed a shield forming around the room. It was not a normal shield. It was a kind of shield that didn’t interfere with the outer zone. Only the person trapped inside it would be affected.
If anyone, apart from Mr. Marino, entered this room now, they might not be able to see her either.
Elliana gulped and turned towards the balcony where she saw a figure forming slowly.
This persona, why did it feel so familiar and unfamiliar at the same time?
She kept looking at the person, her fists clenching around her cloak as she contemplated calling her mother and Nathaniel.
’Mom, I need you,’ Elliana’s hand went straight to her locket that glowed slightly, immediately sending the signal to Queen Azura who was taking a meeting with her dark witches.
"I am not here to harm you, my little sweetheart," Elliana heard the familiar voice and her gaze turned dark, her powers feeling the familiarity of one person that kept them alive for 18 years.
The figure that was appearing slowly, disappeared for a second before Elliana was finally able to see the lady standing in front of her.
"You..." Elliana said, her heart thumping loudly as she subconsciously took a step back, dominated by the witch’s powers.
"Call me your elder mother, sweetheart. I am Arizona,"
The lady said, and Elliana’s fists clenched even further, her nails digging in her palm.
"You are the one who stole my father," Elliana commented.
