Chapter 561: Letter from the University
"What were you thinking, Princess Elliana?" Prince Stephano walked to the girl, who didn’t walk towards mom Freya like the rest of the family and just stood at the sidelines, looking at the scene unfolding in front of her.
Elliana turned her gaze towards the eldest prince, her expression unmoving and neutral, something Stephano wasn’t used to.
"You know, sometimes you look really scary when you are not smiling," Stephano chuckled awkwardly.
Elliana hummed and turned to her husband who signaled to her that he needed to go somewhere urgently.
Sebastian used his vampire speed to reach her and pecked her forehead.
"I will be back soon, okay?" he whispered, smiling softly when Elliana nodded before he left.
Once her husband left, Elliana’s attention went back to Prince Stephano.
"Is that so? And here I thought my fake smiles were more creepy," Elliana commented before she turned around, ready to leave.
"Princess Elliana, that was an amazing hit," Prince Angelo walked to her and Elliana sighed.
"What is the use of having such powers and strength when your family would be snatched from you because of that?" Elliana asked, her eyes finally showing some emotions.
She was clearly not happy, but was there really something she could do to clear it?
"No one is leaving you, Princess Elliana. And you should be proud of this strength. I mean, if I were you, I would be jumping ecstatic," Prince Angelo said.
Elliana hummed vaguely before she said, "Then I guess Mother Carla is going to have a really tough time looking for a powerful bride just like me,"
There was a hint of amusement in her eyes, and Prince Angelo blushed before clearing his throat.
"Well, I won’t say I would mind if I get a wife like you. I think my brother hit a jackpot when he married you. The worst day of his life turned into the best," Prince Angelo said.
Elliana smiled before looking towards where the rest of the family was, her gaze meeting Prince Vincenzo, who looked at her with a concerned expression.
Elliana turned around, feeling slightly guilty before she looked at Prince Stephano, who had been observing her.
She gulped.
This was one man in the family that she was really comfortable with and wary of at the same time.
Why? Because he believed in observing more than reacting.
Even during the time when she had killed Prince Harrison, he was the first and only one who was suspected of her. In fact, the last time they talked, he also mentioned how he had a premonition that she wasn’t a human the day they met for the first time.
Thus, Elliana was wary that he would find the truth about what was going on between them.
"I have to leave for the battle in the Witch University soon," Elliana bowed to Prince Stephano, ready to leave when he stopped her.
"Princess Elliana," He whispered.
"Yes?" Elliana asked.
"I hope you got what you wanted to achieve," Prince Stephano said, confusing Prince Angelo, but Elliana, who kind of had an idea of what he might be talking about, nodded and left the field.
Elliana went straight to her room, closing the door as she sat on the bed, thinking about everyone’s reaction.
’What do you think, Elliana?’ Circe asked her and Elliana sighed.
’I have a few speculations but I can’t say anything for sure. Things are more complicated than I had thought. I can’t make any comments without proper proof. Just my opinions won’t be enough to prove him guilty,’ Elliana said before she pulled out the locket that her mother Azura gave to her because she helped her bear that pain.
It was a locket that would tell her mother immediately if she was in any kind of trouble, but it wasn’t just that.
Azura told her that she had been working on collecting the Magna from the moment she heard the solution from Misha.
Till now, Azura captured the Magna of 289 witches in her Magna pot. This pendant contained the Magna collection of those witches and it would activate the moment her ninth lock would try to come undone.
The locket would aid Elliana the best.
They still needed the Magna of more than 2000 witches for the tenth lock.
Elliana rubbed her thumb on the crystal in the center of the locket before a sigh left her mouth.
Her gaze fell on the letter on her side of the bed. She had wanted to read this letter but Mr. Marino arrived from his meeting and asked her if she was ready to spar with him. Knowing all too well how tight his schedule was, Elliana didn’t want to miss the chance and kept the letter aside.
She walked to the letter, tearing the top of the envelope and pulling the piece of paper from it.
"Dear student Elliana,
We are thrilled to inform you that you have received the wild card entry based on your powers analysis. You will be fighting directly in the semi-finals of the Final assessment that would decide the student of the year.
It has come to our notice that you plead to fight against the seniors rather than your grade. Keeping your powers in mind, the dean agreed with the arrangements.
You will be fighting against Charlotte in the semi-finals while Serene will fight against Caesar. The winner of both rounds will fight together.
The battle would take place in the undermentioned venue. To avoid any issues, the students are requested to arrive half an hour ago from the battle. Please bring your identity card and this letter along with you.
We wish you all the best for the battle. Remember, this fight only decides how sharp your powers are, in our eyes, you all are like shining stars with great potential.
Dean,"
The letter said the typical words and Elliana looked at it for a couple of seconds before placing it beside her.
Caesar.
Wasn’t he the same guy who had soaked her in the rain when they met for the first time? The one who told her to leave the University because the place wasn’t for her? Then even when she was learning to control her magna and powers when burning that leaf, he had told her to leave. Elliana sighed.
If her speculations were right, she would be fighting against none other than Caesar.
His elements were fire and environment and he was a grade-8 witch. She didn’t want to underestimate him. It would be better if she started reading about the elements that work best against these two elements and what techniques she can use.
Since taking anyone else’s help was banned as their memories of interaction with any witch would be checked by the dean himself before the battle, she knew she couldn’t ask anyone for help.
Elliana stood from her place and clicked her fingers, bringing the ancient book of the dark witches right in front of her.
She placed the book in the middle of the carpet and sat on the ground to revise some spells when she heard a soft knock on the door.
Elliana turned around and said ’Come in’, looking closely at the door, her expression changing when she noticed it was none other than Vincenzo standing there.
She noticed the dark look in his eyes and immediately closed the book.
"Are you satisfied?" Vincenzo’s words were cold, void of any emotion.
