Chapter 555: Stabbing
Chapter 555: Stabbing
Azrael looked directly into Arizona’s eyes, making the lady grit her teeth.
Arizona looked at her own hand that despite her efforts wasn’t moving forward to attack Azrael.
She tried harder, but it was as if her body wasn’t in control of her mind. A gasp left her mouth when her hand, which was holding the dagger, started to turn towards herself.
Arizona looked at her hand in surprise, her gaze shifting to her sister, who was sitting on the ground with a scared look on her face, doing nothing at all.
She wasn’t doing anything through her fingers or her mouth but her eyes... Those eyes...
"Why would you want to hurt me, sister? Even after all the time I tried to help you, helped you in getting the love of your life into your clutches, helped you deceive Azura for so long, how could you think of hurting me? Hmm?" Azrael asked, her pitch-black eyes looking at Arizona as if looking directly into her soul, sucking the life out of her slowly as Arizona started to feel worse.
Azrael stood from her place, dusting her dress as if nothing was wrong before looking at her sister with a scoff.
"How could you think you would be able to hurt me really?" Azrael scoffed before she sighed and walked to her elder sister, grabbing the dagger that Arizona wanted to use to hurt her.
She touched the tip of the dagger, the sharp pointed blade piercing her skin making Azrael gasp.
"It’s real," Azrael whispered, looking at Arizona helplessly.
"Now shall we know why you thought I stabbed you in the back?" Azrael looked at her sister, who clenched her jaws.
"Why are you asking me as if you don’t know what I am talking about, hmm? How dare you send your witch to steal something from me? Do you want to take away my Magna from me? How can you think of double-crossing me?" Arizona asked.
Azrael hummed before walking to her Magna Pot and placing the tip of the dagger into the pot, heating it.
Arizona didn’t know why, but for some reason, she didn’t like what she was looking at. Something about Azrael was wrong.
This wasn’t the first time she was meeting her sister, but today, it was almost as if she was losing her sanity slowly.
"Hmm, so you found out about it," Azrael said after a long pause.
Arizona glared at her sister.
"Of course, I found out. I am not a witch queen for nothing. Do you think I won’t notice the missing hair brush from my room?" Arizona asked, and Azrael, who was hearing the dagger in her magna pot, turned to look at her briefly.
"Your hairbrush? What do I have to do with your missing hairbrush? My witch couldn’t get her hands on anything," Azrael said before thinking about something.
"Your witch, what’s her name again? Right, Prakrith, she caught my witch, who was barely able to make it out of there. What are you talking about?" Azrael raised her brows at Arizona, whose gaze was fixated on the hot iron of the dagger that Azrael was still heating.
"What do you mean you don’t know? My hairbrush was not in the room and I couldn’t feel it anymore no matter how hard I tried. If you hadn’t taken it then -" Arizona gulped.
Azrael raised her brows at her sister.
"So you’re telling me you are freely giving away your magna to the one person we have to beat? And you couldn’t share it with me? How cruel of you," Azrael scoffed before she raised the dagger in the air, looking at her sister with a smile, a smile too sinister.
Arizona looked at Azrael before gulping.
"I- I am sorry, Azrael. I just thought that it was only you who got her hands on my material and -"
"And that’s why without clearing your facts, you thought it was a good idea to come here and attack me? To come and threaten my life like it was nothing?" Azrael asked and Arizona shook her head.
She could see the expression on her younger sister’s face change, promising nothing good.
"I... Actually, I wasn’t going to -" Arizona shook her head, but Azrael only laughed.
She looked into her sister’s scared eyes and licked her bottom lip.
"I kind of like this expression on your face," Azrael smiled before she placed the dagger on the table, walking to the window of the place, making Arizona sigh in momentary relief.
"So, Azrael, what exactly have you thought about Elliana’s siren powers? I heard the reincarnated siren queen has actually allowed Elliana to keep them until she uses that power once," Arizona said, hoping to receive favors from his sister so she could ensure her long life.
"What about it?" Azrael asked, her curiosity piqued slightly.
"Well, maybe if you try to blackmail Elliana with someone’s life, she will use those powers to help you and you won’t have to kill her. We all can get our happy ending in the end, no? You will get the love of your life, I will get the love of my life and Azura will have her daughter. We can actually live in peace," Arizona suggested.
Azrael didn’t say anything for a few seconds. She just breathed softly before briefly looking at her sister.
"A happy ending. Do you think I am doing so much, planning for so long, just for a happy ending?" Azrael asked, her question catching Arizona slightly off-guard.
"What do you mean? You told me you were doing it all to meet the love of your life," Arizona said, trying to understand what was going on inside her sister’s head.
"And I never denied it, did I? Of course, I am doing this all for my love," Azrael said, a hidden meaning behind her words.
Of course, she was doing it for her love, her love to get the person she loved back into this world, her love to get her revenge and hurt back everyone who wasn’t with her, her love to see all those people on the ground in mere ashes who were behind the death of her unborn baby.
Her mother was already in her clutches, counting her last breath, but these sisters of hers who could’ve helped her but chose not to believe her were also indirectly related to the death of her baby. They deserved to suffer equally.
Azura already was suffering by living in agony of being away from her husband and her daughter for almost 19 years. And now that she had met her daughter again, Azrael was ready to take that daughter away once again.
And regarding Arizona... She will die in despair too.
Azrael looked at the forest in front of her illusional mansion that has been doing a good job of hiding her for over two decades now.
Her gaze shifted to a mother squirrel on one of the trees who was feeding her baby, and a sad smile appeared on her lips.
Even an animal’s mother treats its baby better than her mother treats her.
But her elder sister...
"You used to love our mom a lot, no?" Azrael asked, catching Arizona off-guard with her sudden off-topic question.
"Of course, I loved mom a lot. Although she chose Azura to be King Eros’s new wife all because she was a dark witch and I was a white witch, I loved her as a whole. Why did you ask?" Arizona asked, a subtle smile appearing on her face.
Azrael smiled.
"In that case, what would you do if you saw our mother right now?" Azrael asked, and Arizona knitted her brows.
Why was her sister talking like she knew where their mother was? They lost hold of their mother around 20 years ago and since then the woman hasn’t been seen, or heard of.
Could it be that she really knew where their mother was?
"What do you-"
"That’s not the answer to my question," Azrael interrupted, and Arizona took a deep breath before sighing.
"I will hug her, probably cry a little, and complain to her where she went without telling us. What were those ugly rumors about her? There was no chance she loved girls too, and even if it was true, why didn’t she tell us all this herself," Arizona whispered, getting slightly emotional.
Azrael suppressed the urge to scoff at those useless fake words. If she really loved her mother so much, she wouldn’t want to take back the man who was chosen for Azura.
"Will you tell her what you did? To Azura?" Azrael asked, and Arizona froze in her place.
"You said what I would do the first time I met her. And that’s my answer. I will cry in her arms and talk about sweet things with her. There is no need to talk about -" Arizona gasped when Azrael used her witch’s tricks and appeared in front of Arizona, but the thing that made her gasp was the dagger in her abdomen.
Arizona inhaled sharply as Azrael twisted the dagger in her abdomen, making her look at her sister in surprise.
"Since you are so eager to meet our mother, time to say hello to her," Azrael smirked before she pulled back the dagger and stabbed Arizona again.
