Chapter 512: The royal army

"Sebastian, what are we hearing? Is it true? The western border is under attack?" Stephano called Sebastian, and the man took a deep breath.

"The royal army is already being deployed there. Do you think it’s not true?" Sebastian asked, and Stephano sighed.

"I didn’t know anything about the royal army deployment. I was on the southern border and just heard the news. Since you are the king now, I wanted to confirm it with you. Anyway, now that you have confirmed it, we are moving there," Stephano said_ and Sebastian narrowed his brows.

"When you say ’we’ who are we talking about?" Sebastian asked.

"I meant Santo and Marcus along with our people. They were here with me. We had been dealing with the fencing of the forest beside the seashore. The last incident can’t be repeated. We made a report and left it at your desk last night. Didn’t you see it?" Stephano asked, and Sebastian massaged his brows.

Of course, he saw the file on his desk. But he was so busy trying to find ways and tricks to get close to his wife that he didn’t bother to open it and see the content of it.

"I get it. I have already left for the place. Lucas says we have around 50 casualties so far. If you can, reach there as soon as possible, it would be better. I need someone who would be able to control me too. You know what I mean," Sebastian said, and Stephano hummed.

Sebastian said a few more words before ending the call.

He looked out of the window, noticing how the shops were closing and everyone was rushing to their homes as the red alert was sent in the western part of the city entirely.

"Drive faster, Ambrose. Every minute we are away from the place, people are dying," Sebastian said and Ambrose nodded.

"I am trying to be as fast as I can, sir. However, due to people running to their homes, this is the most I can go on without causing an accident," Ambrose said, and Sebastian hummed.

He looked out of the window, his gaze falling on the artifact shop that had some pendants displayed. His hand instinctively went to his chest where the pendant his princess had given him was, and he sighed.

’I don’t know why, but something tells me that even when I have denied her to come to the place, she will do something to be there, or just send her help. She never listens to me when it comes to my safety or people close to me, and then she has the audacity to deny my proposal. Stupid girl, I can just hope that she stays out of it. She is already going through a lot,’ Sebastian thought.

It wasn’t long before they started nearing the place, and the thick stench of blood, tears, and death stunk his nose, making him change his mask instinctively as he wore the one that would cover his entire face and keep him from smelling the vampire blood.

He wanted to do anything he could to keep his beast in control.

Sebastian didn’t wait for Ambrose to stop the car near the place, he asked them to stop a kilometer away from the attack site and got out of the car.

"King Sebastian! King Sebastian is here! Only he can save us,"

"Sir, please save my daughter. She was bitten by one of those rogue vampires,"

"Sir, please, I can’t lose my sister. She is my only family,"

"Mom! You can’t leave me! Mom, please. I will fight those people. Mom, don’t make me an orphan. You said we will go shopping together,"

"Aaaaa!"

"Please save us!"

The screams in the area resounded as Sebastian saw the gruesome sight, and he looked at his grandfather who was standing at some distance and talking to the royal army.

He could see that the patrol on the border was barely controlling it and was on the losing side.

The rogue vampires were taking over the patrol, and they needed strategic management of their army within a minute if they wanted to protect their civilians.

"Sebastian, thank God you are here," Abramo immediately sighed in relief and rushed to his grandson who immediately nodded at Lucas.

They had already called all the reinforcements from the middle of the cities and the spies who were skilled fighters to take care of this matter.

There were around 200 trained fighters who were reaching here to fight along with the royal army.

"Attack!" Lucas shouted on the orders of Sebastian, and Abramo looked at his grandson who had already come prepared as he saw his black skull army immediately attacking the rogue vampires like a wildfire spreading in the forest.

"I will handle it. You go and try to talk to civilians to not panic. You were their King until yesterday. They will hear you more at the moment," Sebastian said, ruffling his hair, and Abramo gulped before nodding.

He looked at the royal army who was looking at Sebastian in a new light already.

Abramo was afraid. There was no doubt about it. Sebastian only took over the throne for a day so he was afraid that the royal army, who didn’t have a good bond with him, unlike Prince Stephano, might not listen to him.

That was why when he noticed that none of the princes was at the palace, he had come with the royal army himself.

However, seeing Sebastian bring his group of people, it looked like his grandson never believed and relied on the royal army either way.

It both saddened and depressed him.

Abramo shook his head. Now wasn’t the time to think about those things that weren’t under his control. It was time to handle this sudden attack on their kingdom.

"I am leaving then," Abramo looked at the royal army.

"Your King Sebastian already brought his people to fight the rogue vampires in the frontline. They are well-trained in fighting the rogues, but you can aid them, can’t you?" Abramo asked, and the royal army immediately took out their swords from the scabbard.

"We will!" They shouted in unison, and Sebastian looked at the rogue vampires.

He didn’t know why, but for some reason, he didn’t have a good feeling about it this time.

This was bigger than what it looked like. It wasn’t just for invasion.

This looked more like a warning to them, and this warning was going to cause them a hefty. Sebastian thought before a growl left his mouth when he saw one of the rogue vampires biting the neck of one of his men.

"Sir!" Lucas shouted in horror when he saw around ten rogue vampires jumping Sebastian, and Abramo, who was leaving, immediately turned to look at his grandson.

"Sebastian!" Abramo shouted, his heart thumping loudly when one of the rogue vampires tried to bite Sebastian.

Meanwhile, on the terrace of the University’s biotechnology department building, a couple walked to the terrace, giggling.

"Hey, stop! Someone will see us. This is not the place for this," The girl giggled as she felt excitement coursing her body.

"No one will see us, babe. The University already announced the red alert, and everyone rushed to their houses," The boy said with a smirk.

"And why aren’t we going home? It’s equally dangerous for us. Didn’t you hear what happened to the couple at the seashore? I don’t want to end up like them," The girl said, and the boy chuckled.

"You think too much, babe. The attack place is so far from here. This is like the middle of the city. And do you think -" The boy stopped speaking when he saw someone’s leg from the corner.

"What’s that? Hey, shush... Someone is here," the boy walked forward while the girl hid behind him as he walked towards the body cautiously.

"It’s a girl," They said in unison when they saw her long hair flailing on the ground. However, due to her position, they weren’t able to see her face.

The boy approached the girl and was about to touch her when his girlfriend held his hand.

"Don’t. Let me do it. You might startle her," the girl said and crouched down beside Elliana, who was still unconscious even after thirty minutes.

"Hey, hey, who are you? Why are you lying here?" The girl asked, turning Elliana to look at her face, and as soon as she saw her, a gasp left her mouth.

"This..."

"Isn’t she King Sebastian’s wife? The human girl who was married to the King, and has been studying here under the disguise of a scholarship student?" The boy asked, and they looked around.

"Quickly, go bring water. God knows what happened. She is unconscious. If someone saw her now, we would be the first suspect, and being a suspect in front of the King is as good as being dead," the girl said, her hands trembling nervously as she looked at Elliana’s pale face.

The boy used his vampire speed and brought the water that the girl immediately sprinkled on Elliana, making her scrunch her brows.

Her hands started to move instinctively, and she placed her hand on her face to protect her from water, making the clouds appear above them, and the girl, who remembered she was a witch, immediately stumbled back from the girl.

"This is bad. What if she attacks us?" The girl looked at the boy, but before they could come to some kind of conclusion and worry about it, Elliana opened her eyes and looked at them.

"Why will I attack you?" Elliana said, sitting with difficulty as her body still demanded rest.

As soon as she looked around, the events of thirty minutes ago rushed to her mind, and she widened her eyes.

What the hell was she doing here when her people needed her?!
