The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride -
Chapter 482: It was a death ceremony
Chapter 482: It was a death ceremony
"Where is Princess Elliana?" Vincenzo asked one of the maids when he didn’t find her in their assigned room or with any of the moms in the hall.
"The princess went to the terrace, sir," The maid bowed, and Vincenzo sighed.
He used his vampire speed to rush to the terrace. Every second was precious right now if he wanted to talk to her alone.
As soon as he reached the terrace, he looked at the girl who was standing near the railings of the terrace. Her stance screamed loneliness like she didn’t belong there.
Her long hair was braided in a single pigtail. However, even after that, he could see long strands of loose hair moving in the direction of the wind.
Her sundress that reached below her knees was also moving slightly with the direction of the wind, and he sighed.
"What are you doing here all alone, Princess? This isn’t your Black Skull Palace. What if someone kidnaps you?" Vincenzo tried to joke to ease her mood which was damp for obvious reasons.
Elliana didn’t turn to look at him.
In fact, she didn’t make any movement and Vincenzo contemplated if the girl even heard him before he took off his coat and draped it over her shoulders, ensuring he didn’t touch her.
"I can ask you the same question. What are you doing here, Prince Vincenzo?" Elliana finally turned to look at the prince and the latter shrugged his shoulders.
"Beat me for being so curious about what is going inside your head. You are going to make a blast the entire family and kingdom will remember for the rest of their lives. How could I not want to have early access to the plans?" Vincenzo asked with a soft smile on his face.
Elliana sighed.
"Don’t worry about it. My plan will run smoothly -"
"Just like how the plan of that murder ran smoothly the last time you were here?" Vincenzo asked her, making her pause, and she turned to look at the prince with quirked brows.
"You knew?" She asked.
"I figured," He said before copying her stance and looking at the forest.
"And you are not going to report me to the officials? To your family?"
"He deserved that. I am glad someone did it," Vincenzo said, looking at her from the corner of his eyes.
There were so many things he wanted to say to her, starting from how she should drop the idea of leaving his brother because it would be a literal disaster. And though he knows it is important for her, he wants to act and think selfishly.
"The party will start soon, I should get ready," Elliana said, a clear indication that she didn’t want to talk about anything before she left just like that, making him sigh.
He kind of felt bad for her too. Those eyes that were always full of life and zest, no matter what she went through, were full of a sense of pain and nonchalance today, and he didn’t like a second of it.
Elliana went back to her room and looked at the rack of dresses that was probably prepared for her.
She looked at all the blue, red, and beige colored elegant dresses, and her eyes drooped.
All the colorful dresses when her life was becoming dark and colorless.
"It was just a party," She clicked her fingers and immediately her clothes changed to a black colored dress with silver outlines and frills.
"It wasn’t just a party. It was the eve of the death ceremony of my relationship. And we should wear Black at such times, no?" Elliana whispered to herself before she clicked her fingers and her hair was immediately done along with her makeup.
She looked at her reflection in the mirror, satisfied with it.
Her hair was half French braided to the base of her neck. The remaining were left open with some of her strands falling on her face and front. The earrings were matching silver and golden emeralds that reached her neck. She didn’t favor makeup, but today she wanted to do it, and it was done beautifully, making her eyes stand out even more.
She looked at her hands and clicked her fingers, making matching silver gloves that reached her elbows appear on her hands.
She elegantly wore two rings over her skin-tight gloves before wearing a silver pendant, hiding her other pendant inside her dress.
With matching silver high heels, she was ready to go to the party, the party that was going to declare war with herself.
Her heart would tell her to go to Mr. Marino, but her mind would stop her, and as much as she loved her organs to be in sync, it was good for her this time.
Elliana closed her eyes and just stood there before walking to the balcony to look at the lonely moon that was her new definition.
She was about to leave the room when her phone vibrated, and she pulled out the phone from her purse.
"Hello?" Elliana whispered softly.
"What are these gifts all about? Glow is asking if it means anything,"
It was Sasha’s voice, and Elliana’s eyes immediately quivered as she was forced to lie to her girls once again.
"I just wanted to give you guys something. It’s been a long time," she lied, and Sasha hummed.
"Well, in that case, she is saying she loved the dress. When should she show you?" Sasha asked, excitement clear in her voice, and Elliana looked at the cold mirror where a pretentious girl was looking at herself, trying to hold onto her shattered parts.
"How about tomorrow? I will send you the location," Elliana whispered in a controlled voice. After saying a few more sentences, she ended the call.
Her heart ached for her girls.
’Will you forgive me moon goddess for this grave sin of lying to such innocent souls who devote their entire existence to me?’ Elliana whispered before she took a deep breath and twisted the doorknob.
She opened the door and was about to step out when a hand was extended towards her, and she looked at the manly hand before shifting her gaze to the person’s face.
"King Giotto," Elliana whispered in respect before bowing to him elegantly, and the man smiled.
"Stephano said it was impolite for the princess to come to the party alone and Sebastian would throw a fit if any brothers held your hand. But he won’t say anything if his first father does so, no?" Giotto smiled, the wrinkles around his eyes crinkling and Elliana smiled.
"It was thoughtful of Prince Stephano. Thank you for coming," She whispered before she placed her hand softly in his extended hand and started walking towards the destination.
Giotto looked at the girl from the corner of his eyes.
His wife wasn’t wrong when she told him there was something about this human girl that screamed mystery and positive vibes and made you forget about evil.
At that time, he had laughed in her face, but now that he was holding the little girl’s hand, he could feel how positive her vibes were and how homely they made him feel.
It was as if his heart that hadn’t recovered from a past trauma was soothed and a burden was taken off his chest.
"You look lovely tonight, dear. There will be many intimidating vampires. Don’t let them dim your light or confidence. You are Sebastian Marino’s wife," Giotto whispered like a father to his daughter-in-law, and Elliana looked up at him before nodding.
"I will go inside first. You are our only princess. Make your presence known grandly," Giotto placed his hand on her head gently, and Elliana’s eyes brimmed with tears at the fatherly gesture before she blinked those tears away and smiled.
Giotto nodded at the guards and left, making Elliana take a deep breath.
She looked inside the hall where everyone was busy chatting, her eyes involuntarily trying to look for her man who didn’t once bother to come to the room to check up on her. He was probably busy. Too busy. Elliana chuckled at the irony of the situation and held her head high.
Her eyes turned stern and she looked ahead with resolution.
"Everyone, Princess Elliana Sebastian Marino!" The guards announced.
Elliana immediately raised her gaze to the audience when everyone started to turn towards the entrance.
Elliana held her gown elegantly and started walking ahead, descending one step at a time.
The brothers who were talking to guests immediately started to walk towards the entrance to greet her, including Freya and Ruth who already wanted to get her on their side to introduce everyone.
"Princess," Stephano extended his hand for her to take and she looked at others, who didn’t have a problem with that.
But she had a problem.
Why was the man who was supposed to extend his hand and escort her to the party as the rightful husband not here? She placed her hand on Stephano’s with poise, to not make it look awkward.
"You are surely daring to be wearing black," Stephano snickered as soon as she got close to him, and to his surprise, Elliana smiled at him before saying,
"I know, right? I wonder who will die this time," She smiled, leaving Stephano frozen in his place as she walked to Prince Vincenzo.
