The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 480: The agreement

Chapter 480: The agreement

Artemis opened his eyes with fear gripping his heart to see what exactly happened.

His gaze shifted from the hand that had been holding his hand to Hera’s other hand which was still intact.

If both of Hera’s hands were alright, where did that blood come from?

His brows furrowed and he looked at Marissa, his pupils dilating when he saw the person standing next to them who held the dagger in hand.

Artemis didn’t need a genius to tell him what was going on. It was right in front of them.

"I have been observing you guys for some time, you motherf*ckers. I just thought you guys were weird and were planning something big. But this? How dare you infiltrate the kingdom and then act like vampires? What was your motive?" The man asked them and before Artemis could open his mouth, a punch landed on his face, making him fall backward.

Since more than half of their energies were used by Hera earlier, they had no energy to fight against these trained spies.

Artemis coughed blood and noticed how the vampire’s gaze immediately shifted to the blood drops on the ground.

Their fate was doomed.

Artemis looked at Hera, who finally opened her eyes, guilt taking over his heart. He was the one who forced her to do this.

"Marianna," Artemis looked at the woman who uselessly got caught in this mess because of them. He was hoping to see an angry and hateful expression, but Marianna just smiled at him in sadness.

"We got caught," She whispered.

"Stop talking, you shithead!" One of the vampires hit the back of Artemis’s head, making Hera whimper.

"Hey, it’s okay. Don’t cry," Artemios quickly cupped her cheeks. However, before he could add some more sweet words, their hands were tied behind their backs and they were thrown in the backseat of a car.

"C-can we know who your boss is at least?" Hera whispered.

The vampire looked at the three sirens he caught in annoyance and chuckled.

"You really shouldn’t have asked. Your biggest nightmare. I follow Monster Sebastian Marino," the vampire grinned proudly.

Their hearts thumped as they looked at each other. The monster who was known to never show any mercy? Hera gulped and her body shook, making Artemis place his head on her shoulders to calm her down.

The vampire looked at the duo in the backseat who were trying to console each other and snickered.

’They are so dead,’

Meanwhile, Azura, who barely controlled Elliana’s powers from going haywire, sighed in relief when nothing grave happened.

’Mom!’ The powers immediately recognized their origin and growled in frustration.

’Stop it! Do you think Elliana would like what you guys were doing once she knew of the truth? Why is it so hard for you to understand that you guys are not apart from Elliana? You are here. If she is a sweet soul, you have to mold yourself to become one,’ Azura glared at the powers, who quickly looked away and went back to their original place in Elliana’s head, knowing all too well no one would say anything to them there.

Azura sighed at their childish behavior and shook her head, her gaze shifting from the balcony of the room to the terrace where she felt another siren’s presence.

And surprisingly, it wasn’t just any normal presence, but the - her brows knitted when the presence disappeared.

The witch looked at his daughter who finally opened her eyes and was looking at her friends, and didn’t know what to do.

Didn’t Nathaniel say that taking away the siren powers from her might kill her? Azura’s hands clenched and she rushed behind the siren who was probably there to observe her daughter.

"Geez, you are definitely one weird species," Daniel commented, and Elliana chuckled awkwardly.

"I am sorry if I worried you, guys. It’s normal in my case," She whispered, unsure of what exactly happened with Circe.

"This is not normal, Elliana. If you feel that kind of chest pain or throat pain, you should consult a doctor and get a thorough check-up done," Samantha said while Dexter kept looking at Elliana, wanting to hear what exactly happened to her, and if she was really alright.

Alcinder noticed how Dexter, who is always the most worried one, was so calm and his gaze flickered between the two.

There was definitely something that Dexter knew and the others didn’t.

Were they still not able to gain that kind of trust from this human? But then again, what secret can a human have?

Could it be that she has a terminal disease and that was the reason she was leaving earlier too? She was going to get it treated and didn’t want others to know about it. That would explain this weird pain and her saying it was normal too. Alcinder’s thoughts ran wild, and he looked at the smiling girl in a new light, his heart becoming soft.

What was this poor soul really suffering all alone? He sighed.

"I have got it all checked. Don’t worry. I know what the problem is. There is nothing -" Elliana paused when her phone vibrated.

She pulled out her phone and looked at the screen, her eyes becoming neutral before she forced a smile on her face.

"I have to leave for now, guys. Thank you for having me over. I enjoyed the gathering," She looked at Dexter, a clear indication to not follow her, and the man sighed before rolling his eyes.

She left shortly and rushed out of the restaurant, crossing the road to go to the place where she had asked Marcello to meet her.

Her hands quivered as she started nearing the destination, her steps slowing on their own.

She entered another restaurant and told the manager the room number she wanted to go in and one of the attendees helped her to the room.

"This is it," The attendee smiled, waiting for the girl to go inside.

Elliana took a deep breath, feeling a bit nervous. Her heart drummed in her chest, and she placed her hand on the doorknob with her shaking hands.

"I have got this. Thank you," Elliana whispered, and the attendee bowed before leaving, looking at the girl one last time.

It was clear that the innocent human girl was scared to her wits. Could it be that the vampire inside forced her to come? He wondered, leaving nonetheless.

Elliana took a deep shaky breath. "It is what it is," she told herself and twisted the doorknob.

She entered the room, her gaze immediately meeting with the man’s soft ones.

"Princess Elliana," Marcello stood from his place and walked to her in utter respect.

"I... I have a lot -"

"Did you get things done? Are the documents ready?" Elliana asked, and the man sighed before nodding.

He walked to the table and grabbed the file before handing it to her.

Elliana opened the file, reading the two words written in bold letters and her legs nearly gave away, making her lean on the side of the chair.

"Hey, are you -"

"I am fine," Elliana gained her composure and looked into Marcello’s eyes.

There was no way she was going to show weakness to anyone now that she had decided to do this.

"I hope you haven’t said anything to Glow and others," she said, not looking at the man as she walked to the table and grabbed a roasted cashew.

"They deserve to know,"

"That’s not the answer I am looking for," Elliana’s eyes turned dark as she turned towards the man who immediately bowed.

"No, Princess. I haven’t said anything. It’s your place to share your departure information," Marcello said, and Elliana hummed.

"I am sure you have plenty of questions for me, but you will get all your answers tomorrow. You are invited to the crowning ceremony, right?" Elliana asked and Marcello hummed.

"Great. I will see you there then. This... Give this agreement to the girls tonight," Elliana paused.

"No. Give this to them tomorrow afternoon once the ceremony commences. I will leave immediately after that. I know I am hurting them, but this is the only way. To be human, I only knew how to love, but I guess that privilege was never mine," Elliana whispered the last sentence, and Marcello looked at her, confused.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"You will know," Elliana smiled.

"Did you bring a present for me?" She looked at the wrapped box on the single sofa and Marcello hummed.

"You asked me to prepare it. Your present is that one," Marcello said.

Elliana looked at the side of the room where another wrapped box was kept and she quirked her brows.

"And how am I supposed to take these things back?" She pouted.

"I will help you out. I know you will say, but just... Just take this last help from me," Marcello blinked his tears away, and Elliana’s heart warmed.

"Hmm, okay," She looked at the man before looking at her feet.

"I have to buy presents for everyone before leaving. Will you help me shop?" She asked, and he nodded, making her smile.

"Let’s go," she whispered, making him follow her out.
