The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 446: Who killed Madeline?

Chapter 446: Who killed Madeline?

"Queen Azura! Queen Azura!" Nathaniel shouted as he entered the dark witch’s palace for the first time to look for the queen.

He didn’t want to come here, come here in a place where everyone was looking at him as if he was some kind of abomination who was invading their homes.

This palace was supposed to be his home. Nathaniel scoffed as he looked at the large painting of his father and mother with him in their hands.

Well, at least they didn’t remove him from the painting.

"Prince Nathaniel -" one of the maids rushed to the raging man, but one look from Nathaniel was enough for her to step back and not approach him.

"Don’t you dare call me a prince. I am no fucking prince for you guys. It’s Nathaniel Glacier.

And when an eleventh-level witch is standing in front of you, you don’t raise your gaze to look straight into their eyes. Have some etiquette," His voice dropped a tone, making it sound more dominating than usual.

"Because I assure you, I won’t think of a kinship or subject relationship when it comes to punishing someone who offends and disrespects me," Nathaniel said, his gaze hard, and the maid immediately looked down at her feet.

"I am sorry, Mr. Nathaniel Glacier -" the maid started, but a voice stopped her from completing her sentence.

"What are you doing here, Prince Nathaniel?" Azura walked out of her chambers.

After having an eventful afternoon, she returned to have some rest, but who would’ve thought that she would have to witness this miracle?

King Eros’s son was finally back in the palace. Azura sighed in relief internally. She doesn’t even remember how badly King Eros wanted to bring Nathaniel back to the kingdom.

After he died and Nathaniel became an eleventh-level witch, Azura invited him to take over the throne, but he declined saying he wouldn’t rule over senseless subjects who have racism in their bones.

Azura smiled subtly. King Eros would be really happy when he returned to his son in the palace.

She was about to ask him to follow her to the living room where they could discuss the upcoming events of the crowning ceremony, but her thoughts were brutally interrupted by Nathaniel’s words.

"Have you lost your mind?" Nathaniel growled, his powerful growl breaking all the glass material in the palace, the windows shattering into thousands of shards.

Azura finally observed the animosity in his eyes, and she took a deep breath before she clicked her fingers and all the glass windows back to their original form.

"Leave," Azura ordered.

Nathaniel’s gaze turned even darker than before, the blue iris shining brightly, indicating his witch powers trying to come to their prime destructive nature.

"I won’t leave without getting answers -"

"Didn’t you hear me?" Azura looked at all the maids, who immediately widened their eyes before quickly nodding and leaving the hall, vanishing into thin air.

"Sit down," Azura said.

Nathaniel scoffed.

"I am not here to sit down. I am here for answers. And I hope you have a very good explanation of what you did," Nathaniel said.

"It depends on the thing you want the explanation for. Let’s come straight to the point," Azura walked to the large sofas and sat on one of them leisurely.

"It’s funny how you are still acting like you did nothing. I had clearly warned you not to kill her," Nathaniel’s words made Azura’s pupils dilate.

"I told you, didn’t I? Her death would affect Elliana’s life drastically and will delay her training, not to mention, she will be under everyone’s radar. So why did you do it? Why did you kill -"

"Wait. Who are you talking about? I didn’t kill anyone," Azura looked at Nathaniel with furrowed brows.

"Stop lying, Azura. I know you are the one who killed Madeleine," Nathaniel said, his resolution wavering at Azura’s genuinely confused expression.

"Son Nathaniel, I know I am the last person you would believe, but trust me, I didn’t kill her. Why would I lie to you if that was the case? Do you think I am afraid of anything?" Azura stood in her place, and Nathaniel clenched his jaws.

"I hated that girl for hurting my daughter, but I won’t do anything that will harm my daughter in the end. I made mistakes, and it will take a lifetime to repent for them, but I swear I only have my daughter’s wellbeing in mind," Azura said, trying to convince him.

"If not you, then who?" Nathaniel mumbled under his breath as he paced around, feeling helpless.

Azura looked at the man with narrowed brows.

"I can ask you the same question. Have you killed the girl? Before I arrived, you were torturing her, weren’t you? Besides, you have a clear intention to get Elliana in trouble too. It will take her away from Sebastian and -" Azura didn’t complete her sentence, feeling guilty.

She looked down at her feet in shame.

"Why did you stop, Azura? Continue what you were saying. That I want to take her away from Sebastian so that I can start an illegitimate and immoral relationship with her and crumble her dignity and self-respect, right? Do you think what I feel for her, the love I have in my heart for her is so impure? I fucking love her with all I have, but that doesn’t mean I only have romantic feelings for her!" Nathaniel said, and Azura looked away.

"I am sorry. I didn’t mean it that way. Honestly, I just don’t know what to say. Everything around me feels messy. All I want to do is go there and hug my daughter and tell her how terribly I am sorry for everything I did," Azura said.

Nathaniel sighed, his powers calming down.

He could see that Azura was genuinely messed up because of all the truths getting revealed to her, and honestly, who wouldn’t?

Who would stay sane after knowing the man you loved all your life with everything you had wasn’t dead but probably kidnapped and imprisoned somewhere? And the daughter you hated thinking she was the reason your husband died and had died too, was alive? And you wanted to kill her without knowing the truth?

Anyone is supposed to lose their minds.

"It’s useless to blame each other for something that is none of our fault," Nathaniel said before he turned around, trying to think of a way to find out who was now targeting Elliana indirectly.

There were two things. Either this person was Elliana’s well-wisher and wanted to avenge whatever happened to her, without thinking of consequences, or the person was against Elliana and wanted to bring her into the mud.

Nathaniel sighed. Whoever that person was, the fact that it would harm Elliana either way was a universal truth now.

He didn’t want anyone to come after Elliana with accusing words.

She was the last person seen with Madeline.

Though they think Madeleine was killed in her room, it won’t take a professional a second to find out that Madeline was killed somewhere else and then taken to her room.

"Queen Azura, you can look into the past, can’t you?" Nathaniel asked, and Azura immediately understood the indication.

She clicked her fingers and the crystal ball immediately appeared in front of her, making her look at Nathaniel.

"Place your hand here," Azura said.

Nathaniel did as she told him.

They closed their eyes, moving back in time to see what exactly happened with Madeline.

Nathaniel saw how Azura left Madeline after torturing her like hell and curing her. He sighed.

"Tell me to not get on your bad side," Nathaniel murmured.

"Don’t worry -" Azura stopped when they saw her starting to walk towards the inside of the forest with her brows furrowed.

"What are you doing here?" Madeline asked the person standing in front of her. It was probably an hour after Azura left the girl alone.

To Nathaniel’s and Azura’s surprise, they couldn’t see who that person was.

****Slight trigger warning****

"Haven’t you done enough? I even promised I won’t -" Madeline gasped.

Something or someone clawed her face, making blood spurt out from her eye sockets and cheeks.

"Aaaaaa!" Madeline screamed, her screams echoing in the silent forest.

"You have some nerve," the robotic voice said, and Nathaniel gulped.

Not only was this person able to block their witch’s powers to look at them, but they were even modulating their voice.

"Please, I have had enough. Don’t torture me anymore," Madeline said before she screamed loudly as her hands were twisted behind her and her legs were kicked, making her fall down.

The person grabbed her hair in a tight fist before dragging her all the way to a large tree. They picked Madeleine up and smashed her head on the tree countlessly, making the bones in her face break as her jaw dislocated, rendering her unable to scream.

A dagger appeared out of nowhere.

Judging from the way it was floating in the sky, it was clear someone was holding it rather than using magic.

They cut the fingers next before cutting her abdomen.

"Don’t worry. I am here to free you from the endless torture too," the person said before pulling out the intestines of the girl, snapping her head backward.

"Hmm, you will look good with a straight head only," The person said before twisting it back in the right place.

As if the person at that time knew someone would be seeing them, they looked into the sky before speaking.

"Did you like my art?" The person said.

Nathaniel and Azura removed their hands from the crystal ball.

"Fuck, what the hell was that?" Nathaniel felt like vomiting his dinner after what he saw.

Who can act so monstrously?
