The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 442: A forced promise

Chapter 442: A forced promise

"Sshhhhh, calm down, my princess," Sebastian turned Elliana so that her back was facing Madeline before he stepped ahead and threw the stick away from her hand.

To say Madeline was relieved would be an understatement. For the first time in her life, she felt thankful to a vampire, much less to a royal.

"Calm down, my Cara," Sebastian said again in a gentle voice before he bent and tilted her face.

"My sweet pea, why would you let anyone disrupt your peace? My Cara’s peace? Hmm?" He whispered to her before kissing Elliana right in front of Madeline.

"You are the only one in my heart," Sebastian mumbled against her lips, pulling her even closer and placing her hands flat on his chest, sighing when he felt her raging heart starting to calm down slowly.

He heard it. The things Madeline said when he arrived here and how she questioned his care and affection for his princess, he heard it all.

And God forbade him, the kind of anger he felt brewing in his heart was enough for him to go and destroy the entire human Kingdom for making his princess cry and second guess her worth.

It took every ounce of patience inside him to not exactly do that and stop his princess first.

Why? Because he didn’t want his princess to dirty her hands.

Honestly, it hurt him. The words irritated him, but it was the princess’s reaction, and the little pause she took when Madeline said those words was what hurt him.

Did she believe even the slightest of it was true? Was there any ounce of doubt in her head? And if yes, then why? Did he fail to make her feel safe in his arms?

Last time also when Marla had hurt Elliana, rather than running to him like she should’ve, she had run to Lucas, and though it was a little exaggerating, he had felt his heart clenching at the thought of it.

She might have done it because she didn’t want him to worry or get angry, but the fact that his wife had to run to someone else... Sebastian took a deep breath.

Right now wasn’t the time to think about that.

"You are the only one in my heart, my life, the only one connected to my soul. Never question your position in my life, my Cara," Sebastian mumbled against her lips, making Elliana whimper as she felt her overbearing emotions seeping out of the clutches of her hands.

"Mr. Marino -"

"Sshhhh, I got you," Sebastian said as he caressed her back with his left hand, patting her softly before he looked behind Elliana at the girl whose eyes were as wide as saucers.

Sebastian closed his eyes for a brief second before opening them again and tilting Elliana’s face more to have better access to her lips while he looked straight into Madeline’s eyes as his hand wrapped around her neck while he almost lifted her in the air for hurting his wife.

If this human girl thought he came here to save her from his princess, she was wrong. He just didn’t want his wife to dirty her hands with the blood of a useless creature that he could handle for her in a second.

His eyes turned dark, a tint of crimson engulfing his iris, making Elliana’s eyes brim with a new wave of tears before they rolled down her cheeks.

Sebastian’s jaws clenched before he squeezed Madeline’s throat even more, ensuring that he didn’t snap her neck.

Madeline’s eyes almost popped out of her sockets as her pale face started to turn violet from the lack of oxygen.

"Please forgive her, my Cara. We don’t want any problems on our side that might take you away from me, right? Madeline won’t do it again. She will promise now, right?" Sebastian asked, and Madeline nodded her head, tears rolling down her eyes as she was unable to speak anything, and pleaded with Sebastian to let him go through her eyes.

She had felt relaxed when Sebastian Marino showed up and stopped Elliana from plunging that stick into her stomach. However, she didn’t know he was worse than her.

Then again, what did she really expect from a vampire?

Sebastian pulled away from his passionate kiss and cupped Elliana’s face, wiping her cheeks with his thumb.

"Why don’t you tell Cara yourself, Madeline? You won’t do it again. You won’t try to hurt my princess with your toxic words. As a matter of fact, you won’t even be near my princess because you know that she will kill you if you do something like that," Sebastian looked at Madeline, a clear warning in his gaze.

He let go of her neck and Madeline stumbled back, falling to the ground as she gasped for air.

Elliana was about to turn around when she heard the noise of her coughing, but Sebastian held her face in his hands, forcing her to look at him.

"I don’t really want you to look at others when I am here. Is this toxic behavior, Cara?" Sebastian asked, looking at her innocently, his eyes still dark, and Elliana smiled through her tears before wiping her cheeks and shaking her head.

"It’s not. I like you for this. If it’s toxic, we both are," Elliana said and Sebastian smiled before nodding.

"We both are," he paused, "made for each other," he added before pulling her and placing her head on his chest.

Elliana wrapped her hands around his torso inside his overcoat and Sebastian sighed contently, a subconscious smile appearing on his face before he looked at the girl on the ground.

"We are still waiting for your answer," Sebastian said, and Madeline gulped.

"I... I won’t do it again. I promise," she gasped between her need to inhale more oxygen.

"Good," Sebastian glared at her before he bent and picked Elliana in his arms, walking further inside the forest, making Elliana furrow her brows.

"Mr. Marino, where are you -"

"I am taking you to the lake. Doesn’t it calm you?" He asked, and Elliana patted his shoulders to let him know she wanted him to stop and he paused, looking at her.

"If you want me to calm down, will you ride the bike with me?" Elliana asked.

It was new. He still hasn’t digested the fact that she was the same girl who was so rogue at the mountain.

Since there was no such interaction or discussion about the topic, he kind of forgot about that part too.

"Will it make you happy?" Sebastian asked, his expression soft as his eyes went back to his shining hazel that Elliana fell for.

"I will be a bit rough too," Elliana whispered, as if unsure about the idea herself, and Sebastian chuckled at her choice of words.

"Oh my baby, you can be as rough as you want with me on the bike. But, I would surely be happier if I got the compensation at night on the bed," Sebastian smiled with mischief before he lifted her and rubbed his nose on her, and when he saw how she blushed.

"Stop it," she said, and Sebastian chuckled before he went the other way from the forest to exit so he could take his wife to bike racing.

Meanwhile, Azura, who was watching her daughter being happy in the arms of Sebastian, didn’t know what to feel about the matter.

She felt guilty.

She didn’t know she was capable of motherly love, but from the moment she found out Elliana was her daughter, it was as if someone had wrapped her heart in some kind of steel strings and was squeezing it painfully from time to time.

The thought that she was trying to kill her own daughter and the fact that her daughter found out about her mother this way, she didn’t know how to take it anymore.

She sat on the tree with her legs close to her chest as a tear rolled down her eyes, a soft whimper leaving her mouth as she tried to control her sobs that wanted to escape.

For 18 long years, for such a long time she didn’t know her daughter was alive, and not only that, her daughter had to suffer so much just because she turned out to be like this.

She never visited her husband’s tomb either because she thought she wouldn’t be able to control seeing it. Had she gone there sooner, she would’ve found out about the truth sooner too.

It was all her fault. Her husband’s demise, her daughter’s miserable life, it was all on her. She cried, clutching her chest as she tried to ease the pain.

She didn’t care if anyone heard her at the moment or if they thought of her otherwise and made fun of her. Nothing mattered to her anymore.

Meanwhile, Nathaniel, who saw the queen crying miserably, looked at the sky and noticed a little pouring already starting, sighing loudly.

"Damn, this mother-daughter pair. Do they not find any other way to show their emotions?" He sighed, feeling a little bad for the witch queen before looking at Madeline.

It looks like this human girl doesn’t want to live peacefully anymore. He sighed before he clicked his fingers, making Madeline scream as loud as she could, blood coming out of her mouth.
