Chapter 428: The mysterious third sister

Inside the room after taking a bath, Elliana bolted the door before she sat on the ground in the middle of the carpet with the ancient book she had hidden in front of her.

She took a deep breath and opened the page that she had read about recently but was too afraid to perform it.

’Do you think I can do it?’ Elliana asked Circle, who looked uneasy themselves.

’It’s dark,’ They warned her.

’Will it ensure that my heart stops feeling things if I practice it?’ Elliana asked, and Circe looked at their human counterpart with pity.

’We are not supposed to feel pity. It’s not in our system,’ Circe said collectively.

Elliana smiled. ’You are allowed to show me some pity when that’s exactly what everyone in the universe has been showing me. I heard you shine the brightest in darkness. Let me use the darkness of my existence,’

Elliana closed her eyes.

The spell was written in some different language that she wasn’t able to decipher.

According to Circe, these spells starting from this page were for higher-order witches who specially trained themselves in the higher-order spell language. Thus, it was not possible for a normal witch who hadn’t been trained in the language to read them.

Elliana couldn’t read it. Fortunately, every spell had a meaning written below it, and she wanted to rely on that meaning to help herself.

’Don’t do it,’ Circe said after thinking a lot, and Elliana looked at them, confused.

’But weren’t you the one who had urged me to try it earlier?’ she asked.

’We did, and we are sorry for that. It’s just, we wanted to test you. Whether you are with us or not. You don’t realize the severity of these spells starting forward. If you stop feeling, you will become just like Azrael,’ Circe said, confusing Elliana even more.

"Azrael?" She asked.

’The third sister of three witch queen sisters that rules the witch kingdom after their mother died and divided the kingdoms. Earlier there were no dark and light witches, it was all about living together in clans.

Arizona, Azura, and Azrael. These three witches have the entire witch world in the center of their palms. Arizona is the queen of the white world and white witches, and Azura is the queen of the dark world and dark witches,’ Circle explained.

Elliana sat with her back leaning on the bed as she heard the tale.

’And Azrael?’ Elliana asked.

Circe paused.

They didn’t say anything, and it irked Elliana.

’She is the worst of all. Neither a light witch nor a dark witch, she is the one who has been able to control her emotions among everyone in the entire world and keep her sanity. All the witches who tried this spell and lost their emotions were killed because they started taking dark paths, and as witches, it was everyone’s duty to maintain the law of nature,’ Circe explained.

The more she was saying, the more confused Elliana became.

"Then why not kill her too? Wasn’t she defying the law of nature too? What if she is just pretending to have her emotions in control?" Elliana asked.

Circe looked at their human counterpart with a soft smile.

For a witch who was only involved and introduced to this life, her capability to hold onto the facts was really strong paired with her good sense of judgment and will to ask questions that not many witches had.

’Among people who have more or less the same intensity of powers and can feel and not feel, who do you think will win? The one who can feel? Or the one who doesn’t feel at all?’ Circe asked, and Elliana immediately realized what her powers were trying to say.

"So you are trying to say that a witch monster is roaming on Earth, and no one has been able to do anything against it?’ Elliana said, sighing when she didn’t get any answer from her powers.

She took in the information and then looked at the spell book in front of her, a question immediately appearing in her mind, and she looked at Circe again.

’What is it?’ They asked, knowing all too well that their human was curious again.

’I was going to perform this spell and wanted to do it because I wanted to prepare myself for the rejection I was going to hear in 8 days and didn’t want to hurt too badly. What was the reason Azrael lost her emotions? Was it even volunteered loss?’ Elliana asked, and Circe went quiet.

Elliana started turning the pages of the book in front of her when she realized Circe had no intention of telling her the truth regarding the matter. Or probably the chances were that these powers hadn’t seen that much life and witch kingdom to know just everything about it.

Her gaze stopped at a particular image that had a girl standing in the middle of the forest, looking at the blue flame in the air, and her hands immediately itched for it.

She liked what she was seeing. And she wants to perform it too.

’She was duped,’ Circe said after a really long time.

’Hmm?’ Elliana, who was lost in the amazement of such a pure color of blue that took her breath away, looked at Circe dejectedly.

’She was duped into performing the spell. There’s a very big theory and conspiracy against it too. And unfortunately, I don’t know the entire truth,’ Circe confessed, and Elliana hummed.

’Well, what does it have to do with me? It’s not like I am ever going to meet those legendary queens. All I need is Nathaniel by my side to survive this world. If what you are saying is true, I don’t ever want to meet this emotionless witch.

Who knows what she would do to me, thinking I am an abomination to the witch world since I don’t know anything? Then again, why the hell would she even bother with me? It’s not like I am some kind of special case,’ Elliana added with a shrug, and Circe smiled at her.

Now who would tell this girl that not only was she going to meet those so-called legendary queens she was mentioning with so much respect, but she would have to fight them to establish her existence?

But that was a tale for another time. Circe thought before nodding at Elliana to proceed with the spell she was looking at.

A blue flame wasn’t something that all witches could perform. If Elliana could do it right, she might upgrade her level too, and her training might fasten up, benefitting both of them.
