The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 424: Just pure sadness

Chapter 424: Just pure sadness

Elliana didn’t walk inside the gates after the car dropped her at the University gates. Rather she kept walking towards the highway which she knew led to the prince’s palace.

It has been a long time since she walked alone like this to clear her head.

Elliana smiled at all the things happening around her before her gaze landed on the juice in her hand.

"Nathaniel, can you come and meet me?" Elliana whispered, trying to send the message through her powers like Nathaniel had taught her, and it wasn’t long before Nathaniel appeared right in front of her.

"Princess? What are you doing here?" Nathaniel asked as he found her walking on the sidewalk.

"Can you check this juice for me? One of my vampire friends gave it to me. I feel something is wrong with it. I want to know the exact components. Take your time," Elliana handed the bottle to Nathaniel, who immediately felt the negative energy in the liquid.

"Who gave it to you? How do they know you are a witch? How many people have you told this to? Is she trying to harm you?" Nathaniel stopped walking and asked.

Something was wrong with Elliana, he could feel it. She was too calm for someone who knew she was handed a sedating drug by her friend.

"She probably doesn’t know I am a witch. I will investigate the matter later. Please help me with it," Elliana didn’t look at Nathaniel as she kept walking.

Nathaniel didn’t follow her. He looked at the hunched back of the girl who was walking ahead without a care in the world as if she was troubled with something but at peace at the same time.

"Elliana," Nathaniel called out to her when he realized she was so lost in her little world that she couldn’t even feel he wasn’t walking with her anymore.

Elliana turned to look at him, surprised.

"Everything is going to be alright," Nathaniel said, and a soft smile appeared on her face before she nodded and started walking again.

Nathaniel sighed. He turned away from her, his eyes brimming with tears as he couldn’t bear to look at her being like this.

He didn’t know what he was feeling, what kind of questions he was trying to ask his heart.

How do you watch the girl you love with your everything crying and mourning for the love of another man? Or how do you watch your half-sister being heartbroken and walking on a path that was going to bring immense pain for sure?

Nathaniel was struggling with his feelings and thoughts. How could he expect himself to go and console her?

"Everything is going to be alright. Just give it some time," Nathaniel heard, and he raised his gaze, his eyes meeting with Pluto, who was looking at him with a sad expression.

"Is that the case here? What right will happen if the vase is broken already? You can reform it, but will it be the same? This kind of magic doesn’t apply to life, Pluto," Nathaniel asked.

Pluto didn’t say anything. He looked at the girl who was walking away at some distance and sighed.

What kind of cursed fate does this family really have?

People die for royalty and true love, but what kind of royalty was this that was only making them cry the tears of blood and shredding them from the inside? What kind of love was this that turned into an obsession and destroyed an entire family?

The father was captured God knows where, the mother didn’t know her daughter and husband whom she loved so much alive, the son hopelessly loved his sister his entire life, dreaming of a home and family with her, and the daughter suffered under the hands of the humans her entire life, and now that she was entering her witch life, the dark witches were already plotting against her, not to mention the first person who treated her right and taught her what love was, hates witches with a passion.

It was a family of perfectly broken tragedies coming together.

Pluto sighed before disappearing into thin air when he saw Nathaniel leaving too.

With Elliana’s decision to tell everyone the truth about her identity since she wasn’t able to take it anymore with all the witches coming to meet her and risking everyone’s life, everything was turning hard.

Nathaniel could see she was wounded, her heart was more wounded than her body with all the truth revealed to her one by one.

And to say he was yet to tell her that her parents were alive too. That their family has been suffering under the hands of one witch that everyone thought was on their side.

He can’t even imagine how she will react when she knows that her entire life of misery was decided by someone who was plotting against her, or she would’ve lived like the princess that she was.

Pit. Pat. Pit. Pat.

A soft downpour started, and Elliana looked up at the sky, a soft sad smile forming on her lips.

"Are you mourning with me?" She asked to the sky, tasting the water in her mouth before sighing as she started walking again.

"Am I really the monster of everyone’s life? I want to cling to a little hope that tells me I can stay and not leave everything behind just because I am a witch, but where should I go look for it?" Elliana said, feeling strangely sad out of nowhere, a smile forming on her lips again when she thought about her Mr. Marino.

These things were like seashore to her endless ocean life that had no stop. Mr. Marino’s presence in her life was like healing that she didn’t know she needed so badly.

He was like the soft soothing sunlight to her cold winter mornings.

She sighed and took out her phone and looked at her call log unsure about who she should call at a time like this, who would understand the dilemma in her heart.

No one would. With all the secrets around her heart, no one would understand what she was feeling. No one in this world knew exactly everything about her and was on her side apart from Nathaniel.

And Nathaniel, wasn’t he fighting his own battle with his emotions? She was so cursed that the people around her started suffering too.

She sat on the side of the road, a few tears rolling down her eyes. She didn’t know what her heart or mind wanted anymore.

With her knees close to her chest, she placed her head on her knees, waiting for the pain in her heart to subside.

’What is it that you want, moon goddess?

I am a bird impatient, flying in the sky of endless miseries,

All I wanted was a home, not a prison.

I found that home on Earth,

I have been here before, but this time I wanted to stay.

And I know the end of my happiness is coming, but am I prepared for this?

I feel like a storm is coming, there’s no more use to running.

If I risk is all, will you hold my hand,

How will I live, how will I love when he is the only one I want?

Your world, I will destroy it all,’ Elliana sang softly, looking into the sky, trying to send her message to the divine power that created them and decided this kind of fate for her.

"If you want, I can take your pain away," Elliana heard a strangely familiar voice, and she looked up, her eyes contorting and powers becoming alert when she noticed who it was.
