Chapter 396: Hell fire
Chapter 396: Hell fire
"You know what, I think we should do that thing. Don’t contact that witch’s support system just yet," Lord Ahriman said to his subordinate, who looked at his lord unsure before nodding at him.
"So you are that cursed prince’s wife," The lord stated before turning around and walking again, making Elliana look around herself in confusion.
This hell lord was definitely weird in her eyes. He was angry one moment and then acting like nothing was wrong the second moment.
Now what was she supposed to depict from this kind of reaction? Was it a good thing? Should she speak more about her husband or not?
"So how did you come here?" Lord Ahriman asked, quirking his brows when they sat inside what looked like a cart, a very well-decorated cart that took her breath away.
And it wasn’t because it was some kind of Princess cart that would make you swoon, it literally took her breath away because of how many skulls were used to probably design it.
"Are you really interested in hearing?" Elliana asked with her eyes focused on the skulls on her handrest, dazed with the empty eyes that looked like they were staring right into her soul.
"I am bored. So entertain me. It will decide whether you get to live or not," Lord Ahriman said, leaning back and closing his eyes.
"But Nathaniel said no one could kill me until I met my destiny," Elliana said whatever came to her head, and Lord Ahriman quirked his brows without opening his eyes, suppressing his urge to scoff at her.
Does she really not realize the severity of the situation?
"And would you like to test that theory? Whether Nathaniel is right or not? What does a mixed breed know?" He asked with an evil smirk playing on his lips.
Elliana jumped in her place when the cart started flying in the air before she shook her head even though she knew he couldn’t see her.
"So what happened was -" Elliana started her story about how she was crying because she was heartbroken that she would have to leave her husband after ten days, and it was at that time she felt a weird heat inside her.
She thought it was just her powers trying to channel their emotions in the environment like they always do and she raised her hands in the air, opening her palm wide, and hadn’t anticipated she would end up coming here.
After that, she didn’t know how much time she spent here.
"I had started to believe that I was alone in this world, but I am happy that there are more people," Elliana tried to smile through her tough situation, and the lord opened his eyes, looking at her observantly.
She was sitting there elegantly, acting like a lady even when he could hear her fast-beating heart.
Quite collected.
She was so beautiful that if there wasn’t an organ beating inside her chest, he would’ve really thought she was some kind of doll.
He gazed at her fingers that were nipping her nails before flickering his gaze back to the girl’s amber eyes.
It’s been so long since he had a toy to play with here. Now that she was here, he realized it had been quite some time since he made his presence known to the supernatural world too.
"Well, I don’t think you should be exactly happy by seeing more people in hell," He said, liking the way her gaze shivered and she pressed her chapped lips together as if trying to keep them from trembling.
"Well, I am the kind of person who is used to living in hell. So I don’t think I should exactly be scared," Elliana raised her gaze again, this time looking straight into the Lord’s eyes.
His subordinate was ready to grab her hair in a fist and force her head down until she was bowing in front of their lord, but Lord Ahriman raised his finger enough to stop them from doing anything.
He liked the fire that was blazing in her eyes. This rebellion wasn’t something he was used to seeing since almost everyone in his kingdom bowed and respected him.
"Little girl, you don’t even know what hell looks like," He looked at her, letting her see the hellfire in his eyes, making her gulp and look down immediately.
"Do you have any enemies in the witch world? It’s very unlikely that you opened a portal yourself," Lord Ahriman said, trying to find more information about her.
"I don’t know anything about that. All I know is that I had this chakra control unlocked when I was in the malevolent prison, and a person told me to meditate. Then I started gaining more power. Yaretzi started training me and I started finding out more about myself. Then Nathaniel came and told me I was a witch. Things started to go haywire -" Elliana started, talking like she was talking to her best friend as she got lost in her stories.
The Lord looked at his subordinates who immediately left the large cart.
The cart stopped in front of the entrance of the large palace, and the Lord nodded at her to step out.
Elliana looked around briefly, still going on and on about how her training was going.
"Can you believe it? I couldn’t. So when I touched that fire and it burnt me, I was like how can I have that kind of power when I am getting burnt myself? My fire isn’t supposed to burn me, right?" Elliana continued talking.
The lord looked at the girl who was looking around in awe and still talking, taking a deep breath.
It didn’t need a genius to know what she was doing. She was trying to ease her nervousness by talking nonsense about herself. It was her way of dealing with her psychological stress.
Then he won’t lie and say he hated it. He disliked talkative people the most because he always thought talking more was like wasting time, but the way she kept him interested the entire journey, he didn’t remember the last time he had such an eventful journey.
He looked at her hands and was tempted to hold her hand to see if she would be burnt with his fire.
If she got burnt, it would mean she really didn’t have the powers and someone threw her in this hell to teach her some kind of lesson or avenge something, but if she didn’t get burnt, it would really mean she had those powers.
"You do realize you are way off-topic, right?" Lord Ahriman finally reminded her, and Elliana paused when he grabbed her hand, making her gasp.
Lord Ahriman looked at her hand that was catching his fire into hers and they both looked at their joined hands in amazement.
He felt his throat clogging at the familiar sensation. This feeling...
Even the subordinates were surprised at this.
First, their lord never touched a witch’s hand directly, much less a girl. He used to hold a stick to check such things. Second, they couldn’t understand what kind of tyranny was this.
The lord’s fire was supposed to burn her or not affect her at all. What was this fire-traveling thing?
"Wow," Elliana’s exclamation snapped Lord Ahriman out of his daze, and he looked at her in pure shock.
Without blinking his eyes, he grabbed his sword made up of molten lava and shifted his fire to the blade, making it glow like hot iron.
He slammed the girl on the wall, placing the blade on her neck.
"Who are you?" Lord Ahriman asked, making her eyes widen in shock and fear.
She took a deep breath, trying to push him so she could breathe. However, his grip wasn’t making it possible for her.
She already had trouble breathing. Paired with the lord’s attack on her windpipe, she lost her breathing capability completely, making dark spots appear in her vision.
"I... Elliana," Elliana whispered before falling to the side, making Lord Ahriman look at the girl with square jaws.
"Fucking Taipan," Lord Ahriman said before turning around.
"Get her a fucking doctor!" He roared hitting the wall above her head, shaking the entire palace with his power.
