The competition turned even stronger.

Everyone was looking at the screens with unmoving gazes as number 33 and Kevin neared the finishing line.

"Who will win the race? What thoughts do you -"

"Shut up, will you? Let us watch in peace," One of the vampires shouted at the host, and everyone chuckled at the host’s embarrassed face.

"Why are you shouting at him? It’s his job," one of the vampires said, and the man sighed.

Everyone went back to watching the race.

Elliana turned to look at Kevin, who also turned his face to her.

She sighed before tightening her grip on the handle.

"Screw it!" She accelerated the most her bike could without losing control, crossing the finish line first and everyone hollered in surprise when Kevin crossed the finish line one second later than her.

"It was really an unexpected win. The dark horse of the race, number 33 had a clean win with no doubts left. And -" The host stopped when the manager of the track walked to him and whispered something in his ears, making him quirk his brows and the host nodded.

"Guys, I have an announcement. You all would be surprised to know that the number 33 had made such wins before too and has been quite famous for her stunts and modified bike on this track.

Yes, you heard me right. Contestant number 33 is actually a girl and quite a famous one at that. Her name is Glory," the host announced, and the bikers looked at the contestant who got off the bike.

Kevin, who was in second place, and was sitting on the ground with a dejected sigh, looked up to see the contestant walking toward him, making him grit his teeth.

’So it’s a girl? Now what is she coming here for? To lecture me? Mock me? It’s indeed true. When it’s your bad day, even an ant finds a way to laugh at you,’ Kevin thought, taking off his helmet and placing it beside him, breathing heavily.

"Glory!" Dexter shouted as soon as he got off the bike and rushed to her, almost jumping on her, making her fall backward on the ground as he hugged her.

"You stupid girl! Have you lost your mind? What would’ve happened if you hadn’t controlled the bike? You were this close to dying today!" Dexter slapped her helmet, making her head whip to the side.

"Mmmphh!" Elliana groaned with the fall, the slap on her helmet making her moan in displeasure even more.

The hit was hard and Elliana felt tears pricking her eyes.

"You a*Shole! Get off me!" She kicked him away, breathing heavily before she twisted her body to look at Kevin, who was coincidentally right beside him.

"Are you happy after winning? Does it satisfy your heart enough?" Kevin scoffed and was about to stand when Elliana grabbed his hand, making him stop.

"Glory -" Dexter started when he saw her, and Elliana lifted her other hand to tell him she was okay and wanted to talk to him.

She turned back to Kevin.

"I am happy indeed. I almost lost my life for this win. Here, punch your number. I will connect you to someone who will take full responsibility for your child’s operation," Elliana extended her hand.

Kevin looked at the phone in her hand before looking back at the helmet that she still hadn’t taken off.

"Are you mocking me because you have money or connections?" Kevin asked, his voice darkening, and Elliana smiled inwardly.

She grabbed the side of his jacket and pulled him to the side before hugging him so that everyone just saw it as good sportsmanship and didn’t think they had some settings or pre-decided game among themselves when they talked on the track.

"I am not mocking you, Kevin. This win was important for me. Today I lost my family. I needed this to get over my pain. And regarding why I am helping you? It’s because maybe helping a family stay together will ease my sorrows," Elliana opened the flap of her helmet, letting him see her genuine eyes, and Kevin’s lips trembled.

"But... The amount is so much and -"

"It’s okay. No amount is bigger than your kid’s health. The person I will connect you with is someone I know. Just tell them Glory referred you, and then tell them the hospital’s name so they can verify the patient’s information. After that, the payment would be directly made to the hospital," Elliana said before smiling at him behind her mask.

"Will...will..." Kevin cleared his throat as he held Elliana’s gloved hands in his.

"I know it’s too much, but... Can they do it today? The quicker the operation starts, the better it would be for my son and -"

Elliana dialed Glow’s number immediately and walked to the side, Kevin following her like a lost puppy, his eyes not giving away anything. To others, it just looked like they were greeting each other or probably sharing their numbers to meet later.

It wasn’t new in the field for the players or racers to fall for each other’s skills or become best buddies after a fight and race.

"Glow, there’s this kid who needs urgent surgery. I want you to verify the information of the kid and send S to the hospital to make the payment on the family’s behalf. It’s important. She didn’t react. She knew he would recognize her as soon as she came into focus. After all, the man recognized her just by her eyes and voice, so it didn’t come off as a surprise.

"Mr. Vampire," Elliana said, and Vincenzo smiled helplessly at the familiar greeting.

"Stupid girl, do you have any idea how worried I was? I was even ready to jump down the mountain if something happened to you. Can’t you be a bit more careful?" Vincenzo asked, and Elliana smiled before nodding.

He held her hand and pulled her to the side.

"Glory, I mean, Princess Elliana, -" Vincenzo sighed.

"Does your husband know you are here like this?" Vincenzo asked, and Elliana’s silence was enough of an answer to him.

He was about to ask her how she was planning to tell him when he heard his phone ringing.

"Brother Stephano," he said.

"Where are you? There’s a problem here. Apparently, Sebastian arrived with Princess Elliana and now she has gone missing. Sebastian is losing his mind. It’s getting hard to control his temper. We all are sending teams to find the princess. He is afraid someone abducted her," Prince Stephano said.

Vincenzo looked at the girl in front of him, whose eyes were crinkled, a clear indication that she was smiling.

"I... She is... " Vincenzo paused when Elliana shook her head.

"I am coming," Vincenzo ended the call.

"What the hell are you doing, Princess? Do you not know Sebastian will wreak havoc if he doesn’t find you?" Vincenzo asked, and Alcinder, who was walking to Elliana with the rest of their friends, narrowed his eyes.

Why would Prince Sebastian wreak havoc if they didn’t find her? Could it be that the girl’s manifestation indeed worked and the prince has started to care about her? But what about his wife then? Wasn’t he married to a human too?

Why has he not made his wife known to the world? Could it be that he has killed her already and is now targeting Elliana? Alcinder thought, his eyes narrowing.
