The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 374: A match of that level?

Chapter 374: A match of that level?

In the Blue Leaves forest of the mystical forests, a woman sat in the middle of the clearing, wearing a black cloak with sacrifice written on the back of it.

In front of her, five more women sat wearing black colored cloaks with different elemental letters written behind them - fire, water, earth, air, and space, covering all the elements of the world in them.

They were surrounded with large crossed multidimensional stars as they sat at the edge of each one with one skull in front of them.

There were six skulls in total, the largest one in front of the woman with a sacrifice cloak.

"Space," The woman with the black cloak said.

The woman who was wearing the space cloak immediately placed her hand on the hot surface of the large bowl in front of them.

"Air," The sacrifice cloak woman said again, and it was followed by the woman wearing the fire cloak placing her hand on the bowl.

All the other elements followed one by one as their names were being called.

"Now pour around 3 years’ worth of your Magna into this bowl," The woman with the sacrifice cloak said.

The witches looked at each other, feeling a bit unsure.

"Azura, are you sure about this? This isn’t something you can undo once you start. Once this process starts, you will have to sacrifice that witch or the equivalent of 50 witches of any clan to complete this spell, if not, you will die," The witch wearing the fire cloak reminded Azura once again, but the latter only hummed, not saying anything else.

She was more than sure about it.

"The witch you are targeting is akin to your daughter. If your daughter had been alive today, she would’ve been of the same age. At least think twice," the witch with the space cloak, the most reasonable one in the group, said.

"I know what I am doing, Camere. Don’t tell me just like your name and powers, your head has become a vault too, a vault with nothing inside it," Azura’s eyes glowed purple, and Camere looked away, not wanting to fight the queen.

Azura looked at Camere’s clenched hands and tilted her head.

"Am I forcing you to do the spell, Camere?" Azura’s voice dropped a tone, and the other witches looked at Camere with raised brows.

It wasn’t a question of whether they wanted to do it or not anymore, they were too afraid of Azura to say anything about it, and thus, the witches looked at Camere, wanting to see if she would really have the guts to retaliate.

"No, of course not, Queen Azura. You are not forcing me into the spell," Camere looked down at her hands.

Azura hummed before looking to her right when she felt a weird wind picking up and the fire they had burnt in the middle of the star, picking its pace.

"Something is weird," Azura closed her eyes, and Camere sighed, looking at all the witches who shook their heads at her.

They didn’t want her to say something sarcastic that would land all of them in trouble.

Camere nodded at them in understanding and sighed.

Honestly, she never wanted to be a part of this spell. Even though she was a dark witch by choice, she never wanted to indulge in any kind of dark magic that would need someone’s sacrifice, especially the kind of sacrifice that takes a life.

The only reason she was here was because Azura once did a great favor to her, and now was the time to repay the favor. A three-year worth of magna was nothing in her eyes, it was the sacrifice of the nineteen-year-old new witch she was worried about.

Many questions were lingering in her heart.

If Azura really wanted to sacrifice someone for any spell, she should’ve chosen the darkest and most powerful witch she could take down and kill, why choose a teenager witch who didn’t even know anything about how to perform a spell and -

Camere paused in her thoughts.

"For whom exactly are we conducting this spell, Azura?" Camere asked, her brows narrowing.

"Does that really matter?" Azura quirked her brows, her hands clenching around her wands as she felt weird sensations traveling inside her Magna.

It was almost as if a part of her energy was greatly disturbed. However, she was sitting here and years of meditation made sure her magna was calm and collected.

So what was this sudden change in her inner chakra?

"It matters. You are not actually thinking of doing what I think you are doing, right?" Camere asked, and Azura was about to answer when she felt the wind pick its pace.

The witches looked around, surprised. The leaves started rustling as if something powerful was moving towards them.

Their eyes squinted as soil prickled them, and they tried to open their eyes while rubbing them with their free hands.

They couldn’t move. No matter how much the soil was hurting their eyes or getting into their windpipes, they couldn’t move from their places.

It was the rule of most dark spells.

Once you are included in the spell and you place your hand on the sacrificial bowl, you can’t and shouldn’t remove it until you are ready to face severe consequences of the reversal of the spell, and given how Azura needed 3 years’ worth of Magna, they knew it was something big, something they shouldn’t truffle with.

"Azura, what’s happening? This was supposed to be a calm spell, so how come -" The witch with the earth cloak said, and Azura sighed before standing from her place.

Camere’s eyes widened.

"Azura, you can’t just leave -"

"The spell hasn’t officially started yet, so I don’t see why I can’t leave the star. You guys take off your hands and the star signs along with me. On the count of three, we step out of the sign together," Azura said before she looked at everyone.

Once they were out of the star sign, Azura closed her eyes to see what the hell Elliana was doing.

She cast a crystal ball spell in front of her, and as soon as she did that, everyone’s eyes widened when they looked at the girl who was screaming so loudly that the air around her was vibrating at an indescribable pace.

"Tell me this is not the girl we are going to sacrifice here," The witch with the water spell commented.

They didn’t need a genius to tell them they were looking at someone who was as unrefined as an ore that needed too much polishing and refining, and the main problem was, that this ore was too reactive.

Azura looked at the screaming girl carefully.

Something was wrong.

Wasn’t this girl under Arizona’s protection? So what the hell was her sister doing when this girl was getting bullied at this level? Has she lost her mind or something?

She sighed.

Then again, what does it have to do with her? As long as her sacrifice goes well and she gets what she has been yearning for so many years, even if it comes at the expense of this girl’s life, she should be happy, right?

But if that was the case, why was her heart aching so terribly? Why was she feeling such deep pity for the girl who was just a fool and a tool for her?

Has Casmere’s words really penetrated her heart and played a melody of care that she thought she wasn’t capable of?

"She is exactly who we are going to sacrifice. It will be her blood that will bring my husband back. It will be her energies that will call him from the dead," Azura smiled.

Camere looked at the queen and then looked at the girl before narrowing her brows.

Was it just her premonition or were these two -

She looked to and fro between them, feeling their energies through her spatial characteristic energy-matching defining spell that she refined herself after years of practice and was passed down to her from her ancestors.

She closed her eyes and faced her hand towards the crystal in a way so that Azura couldn’t see it.

As much as Camere knew Azura wouldn’t do anything to her, at least until she got this spell done, she still didn’t want to get on the queen’s bad side.

Camere focussed her energies and started chanting the forbidden exclusive words inside her head.

As soon as she said the last word of the spell, her pupils dilated when she saw a 40% match.

This... Camere looked at the girl with wide eyes.

Different kinds of percentage matches were used to define and identify the witches of a particular clan.

Around 10-15% match of the magic shows the same clan and the level of powers. Around 15-25% of matches usually indicate the bloodline and proximity of the kin, like how directly or indirectly someone is related to the other person in the witch world.

A 40% or more match meant that...

Was this girl Azura’s daughter? But how... Camere coughed, feeling terribly torn.

Did Azura even know?

She gulped and looked at the witch, her grows narrowing when she realised Azura was leaving.

"Where are you going?" Camere asked.

"Well, I don’t know either," Azura left.
