Chapter 372: Take me home
Chapter 372: Take me home
"Elliana," Aditya stepped forward towards her, but she flinched away from him, making him stop and look at her with sadness in his eyes.
Even he couldn’t believe the condition she was in. Was this why Madeline’s mom sent them away? Because she wanted to do this to the girl?
How can a human hurt someone like this? This was inhumane.
Was this the first time?
Was it always like this? Did she used to hurt Elliana like this?
All those bandages on her body and her excuses about getting those wounds because of falling in the forest and stairs and being a klutz... everything felt like a big fat lie.
He somehow knew Madeline and her mom never liked Elliana, but this... He couldn’t believe his eyes.
Elliana held Lucas’s hand tighter, making the subordinate’s lips tremble as he looked at his prince, who was looking at the Princess breaking down in front of him with a stoic expression.
"Princess -" Lucas helped her, taking out his handkerchief, ready to wipe her cheeks that were stained in blood when with a swoosh, Sebastian held his hand.
Lucas immediately understood that Sebastian didn’t want him to touch her, touch his woman.
"Let me look at her -"
"No. I can’t face you in this condition, please," Elliana neared Lucas, hiding her face in his chest, making Lucas’s nose flare as the thick scent of her blood wafted through his nostrils, making a shiver run down his spine as he jaws started do hurt, his fangs itching to elongate.
He hated himself at the moment for acting like this, but it was something that wasn’t in his control.
He took a deep breath to control his urges towards her blood and was about to place his hand on her shoulders to stabilize her when he felt his prince’s cold gaze on himself and paused.
"Grrrrrrr!" An animalistic growl echoed in the palace and everyone stepped away from the raging Prince.
"Mine!" Sebastian’s voice was firm.
However, unlike all the times, he didn’t hold Elliana’s hand to pull her towards himself forcefully.
He didn’t want to break and scare her more than she already was at the moment.
His hands were clenched by his side as he raised his gaze.
"Don’t look away from me, Princess," Sebastian stepped closer to her, letting her get used to the heat from his chest as he almost touched her back.
He looked up at Lucas, who nodded in understanding and stepped away from the princess, leaving her standing there with her head bowed.
"You will hate the way I look. I am of no use to you anymore. I want to run away from here. This is not my home. This is not the place I would ever call my home. She... She tried to -" Elliana was about to fall on her knees and break again when Sebastian held her from behind, hugging her close to his chest.
"Sshhhh... If your home is not here, make me your home. I will keep you protected from these eyes and this pain. Surrender yourself to me for once, princess" Sebastian whispered in her ears and placed his head on her shoulders.
He was seething with anger, his body barely in control as he kept his hands clenched to stop his shaking.
His eyes were pitch black because his devil was getting in control, and that devil wanted to have a blood bath from the blood of the person who hurt his bride. But right now, even he knew handling his bride was more important than killing a human he could do anytime.
"I am of no use to you anymore. Honestly, haven’t I always been useless to you-?" Elliana started.
Sebastian sighed.
"If that had been the case, I wouldn’t be hugging you right now, would I? You don’t even know how useful you are. I won’t leave you until I get over that use," Sebastian said, referring to how her scent was the only thing that calmed his beast.
However, others could only think about something different.
"I... I am ashamed of how I look. I am ashamed that you had to see all this and witness the ugliness of my reality that I kept hidden for so long," Elliana hiccuped.
"I tried... I swear I tried to stay quiet, King James, but today I couldn’t,"
Elliana said, falling on her feet again as she cried.
Sebastian let her cry for a few minutes to let her take her emotions out and feel at ease, his gaze shifting to her body and observing her state now that he was facing her.
Her cheeks were swollen and the dress was torn. A trail of blood was still dripping from her hands and her jaws. He looked at all the drops of blood she dropped while running here and sighed.
Sebastian was about to look up to King James and ask for answers when his gaze fell on something. His eyes narrowed.
Was that blood on the back of her thighs? Sebastian’s gaze turned dark.
He didn’t want to think that way, but -
"Did someone try to inappropriately touch you, princess?" His voice was void of emotions, but even King James and the council head trembled at the intensity of his words.
"Prince Sebastian, how can you ask her that? Who will touch her -" the council head started, but one look from Sebastian, and he stepped back in shock.
Who would’ve thought that the vampire prince would be so protective of a mere human girl, the girl no one cared about?
And to this point, he was ready to take down anyone?
"She got hurt so badly in the same mansion, didn’t she? She isn’t your daughter anymore. She is my wife now. And I left my wife here in the palace thinking she would be safe. But what happened?" Sebastian barely kept his control.
"I am asking you a question!" Sebastian raised his voice, and Elliana flinched, making him regret it immediately.
"Take me back, please," Elliana’s hands were flat on the floor as she cried, barely breathing properly.
"This is not the answer to my question, Princess. Who tried to touch you?" Sebastian bent on his knees in front of everyone, shocking everyone with his actions once again.
Elliana raised her eyes. Sad broken gaze meeting angry and raged gaze.
Sebastian could see it. The helpless and the hope to protect her dignity in front of everyone in her eyes. He took a deep breath, biting back the words that were on the tip of his tongue.
"Just take me back," she looked like someone who lost everything today, and Sebastian’s heart broke for his wife who was suffering nothing but misery these days.
"Elliana, dear -" King James started, but before he could say anything, Sebastian wrapped his arms around her and pulled her up before lifting her bridal style.
"I would need a written report of who did this and what exactly was the reason my wife was tormented. You better have a good reason, because this would be the second time your bloodline tried to hurt someone I deeply care about. The blood bath won’t stop at the soldiers only, it will reach the royals too," Sebastian paused.
"Especially the woman, who hurt her. You better pray that she didn’t touch my woman, because if yes, I will have a valid reason to turn you into a widower if she did," Sebastian ended his threat before he started walking towards the car that Ambrose was already ready with.
