The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride
Chapter 338: Sometimes Love is Blind and Toxic

Chapter 338: Sometimes Love is Blind and Toxic

"Is that so? What kind of illegal chemicals are we talking about?" Sebastian asked, tightening his hold on her as he took her to their room.

"About vampires killing poisons," Elliana whispered, and Sebastian hummed, making her place her head in the crook of his neck.

He placed her on the edge of the bed before sitting in front of her, kneeling on the ground.

He placed his hands on her lap and grabbed her hands, making her look at him.

"If you ever make a poison that kills a vampire, test it on me. I would gladly drink it for you. Will save you some vampire trials," Sebastian whispered, his eyes crystal clear with no hidden meaning.

He really meant what he said.

Elliana froze in her thoughts. She didn’t know what to say.

Should she praise him for caring and thinking so much about her that for her happiness, he said those words, or should she knock some sense into him so he could see she was telling him the truth and not being funny here?

She felt contemplated and bit her lips.

"Don’t. Bite. Them. Cara. I don’t like it when you do it. Leave that job for me, okay?" Sebastian pushed her back, immediately hovering over her as he placed his hand on either side of her face, looking into her wide eyes.

"Stupid girl, did something happen at University?" He asked, and Elliana hummed before looking away.

She was betrayed today by one of the vampire Dukes she thought would be on her side.

She thought when the time came she would ask him to vote for Mr. Marino, but seeing how she didn’t even have his full trust, how can she expect anything from him?

"Do you want to talk about it?" Sebastian asked, pecking the corner of her lips.

"No," she whispered.

"Well, in that case, do you want to freshen up first? Let’s take a walk in the forest. It will ease your mind," Sebastian said, the soft look in his eyes making her feel even more guilty.

It was becoming really hard sleeping in the same bed as him while hiding so many secrets from him.

She desired trust from him, blind trust, but was she really worthy of his trust?

What was she doing? She was waiting for him to trust her so she would break it in a hundred ways he would never be able to overcome.

She was waiting for him to think humans can be good and worth loving too, and when that would happen, she would tell him she was actually a disguised witch and then see him struggle again while he tried to wrap his head around the fact that she indeed makes poisons that kill vampires.

Elliana couldn’t look into his eyes.

Sebastian saw the turmoil of emotions in her eyes and wanted to look into her head to see what was bothering her, but it was blank.

Like she wasn’t thinking about anything at all.

He immediately knew it was because her mind barrier was up, which was something that he still wasn’t able to figure out.

How the hell was her mind barrier so strong that he as one of the most powerful princes wasn’t able to penetrate it?

"Okay?" Sebastian asked again, bringing her out of her thoughts, and Elliana hummed.

"Can you kiss me on my forehead?" Elliana asked, almost ashamed of her demands.

Sebastian looked into her eyes for a brief second before he placed his lips over her forehead.

His peck lingered for a few seconds before he kissed her eyes one by one, followed by her cheeks, the corner of her cheeks, her chin, her nose, and then her jaws, making her feel adored and valued.

"Freshen up quickly," Sebastian whispered to her, liking the frustration in her eyes when he didn’t kiss her lips.

But of course, his princess was too proud to complain about it.

"Hmm," Elliana tried to get up from under him, and he suppressed the urge to chuckle when she raised her body and fell again under him before glaring at him.

His sweet kitten was starting to show her claws again.

"I will be in the garden," Sebastian kissed her neck below her ears before standing straight.

He gave her a once over, his amused smile looking at her exposed legs that Elliana covered quickly, making him look at her with a predatory gaze before he turned around and left, without saying anything.

As soon as the door closed, Elliana sat straight and pulled out her phone from her bag.

She was contemplating earlier, but it looked like she didn’t have a choice.

She dialed a number and waited for the person to pick up.

"Glory. What a pleasure. It’s been a long time," the person said, and Elliana hummed.

"Let’s not waste each other’s time. I want all the information about humans who might be trying to infiltrate the royal vampire kingdom with evil intentions. I want their names, ages, and pictures, and if you get their current location, it would be an added benefit. You are the only human I can trust with this job. So do well. I will pay you..." Elliana paused before looking out of the balcony.

"As much as you think your work is worthy of," Elliana said.

"Just think the work is done. Who pissed you off? Are the rogues trying to get your family into their evil bidding?" The person who knew Glory was a human, said, and Elliana hummed.

"Just think that they are threatening my family. That’s the least I can do to protect them," Elliana said before she ended the call.

If he was ready to drink the poison for her, she might as well reward him with the heads of the people who want to hurt her husband, no? If she can’t reveal her secrets to him, she will reveal everyone else who wants to hurt her husband. Elliana smiled, the evil side of her powers taking over before she snapped out of it.

She checked the messages from Misha and quirked her brows.

[I am going to the seashore with Candice, Glow, and Trisha.] The message was simple, but for some reason, she didn’t get any good vibes from it.

Was it just her premonition or were these fiurs going near the seashore quite a lot these days?

Remembering how Misha had gotten scared the last time they visited an island to see her, and how protective these people were of each other, she was afraid they were looking for trouble, and just like always, they wouldn’t tell her when they’d get stuck.

She sighed before bringing out her clothes from the closet and walking inside the washroom.

Meanwhile, downstairs, Sebastian stood near the white lotus pond while Lucas looked at him, waiting for his instructions.

"Your princess told me she has been trying to make vampire-killing poison these days," Sebastian said out of the blue, and Lucas nearly lost his balance into the pond as his foot slipped into the wet soil.

Lucas -"..." Can you at least give me some kind of warning before dropping a bomb like that? He wanted to say but just resorted to coughing.

"And what is your intake on that, sir?" He asked after composing himself.

"I told her if she ever succeeded in creating the poison, I would gladly let her test it out on me," Sebastian said, freezing Lucas in his position.

He looked at his prince in utter shock.

His prince said what? Lucas looked at the side profile of his prince, gulping a bit. There was no remorse or hint of mockery in his stance. He was serious about her.

But how can he say things like that so casually? Even after knowing she belongs to that hunter’s bloodline? He agrees that the Prince wants her to trust him completely, and he would have thought that the princess was joking, but after seeing what she was capable of...

"That’s why I want you to plant a spy in the black market and to give us information about all the new chemicals being made and brought there," Sebastian said, and Lucas looked at his prince, sighing in relief.

Well, thankfully his prince hasn’t lost his mind in care and adoration of his adorable wife. Lucas sighed.

"So it means you know she is capable of that?" Lucas wanted to test what was going on inside his prince’s mind, but Sebastian only scoffed.

"I never doubt her caliber. But this time, I am not suspicious of her. It’s just when she mentioned it, the thought suddenly struck me.

Why are we only obsessed with the scent hiding perfumes when there are tons of more chemicals circulating in the black market? That’s why I want you to plant a permanent spy there," Sebastian said, and Lucas hummed.

It made sense.

"Besides, if killing me was really that easy, I would’ve died 12 years ago," Sebastian smirked before bending and pulling out a white lotus that was near the edge.

He looked at the white lotus that resembled his wife. So pure and innocent. But she was definitely more like a kitten with claws.

"There is a reason Grandpa is always so scared of me. There’s a beast inside me that can’t be tamed or killed until the prophecy comes true.

And as much as anyone would want that prophecy to come true to end the beast, it would come with the destruction of the world and a supernatural war. That’s the reason he had been adamant about keeping me away from everyone," Sebastian sighed before smiling when he heard the heartbeats of his wife nearing him.

"She is here. You can leave," Sebastian said, and Lucas turned around right in time to see Princess Elliana walking out of the slide doors.

His gaze paused on her face before he sighed.

Look at her obsessed over a vampire prince. They both are toxic.

Too toxic. Lucas shuddered before walking away.
