Chapter 315: Draw a sketch

Elliana looked at Vincenzo, completely baffled.

Though a part of her couldn’t believe he got a girl because she never pegged him to be that type, a part of her was happy and felt joy for some reason.

This was the first time someone hit Madeline on her behalf, and it was oddly satisfying.

"You lay a hand on her next time, and this face won’t be on your body anymore to even earn a slap," Vincenzo said casually, smiling at Elliana as if he wasn’t threatening to behead Madeline a few seconds ago.

"Is it bad?" He walked to her and cupped her cheeks, looking at her pale face as he massaged her cheeks with his thumb.

"You are such a trouble magnet. Recently, you got hurt in the laboratory too, didn’t you?" Vincenzo asked, completely ignoring the two people in the room.

"He was the other friend who got hurt with me. What happened was -" Elliana explained everything to him.

Vincenzo now understood why she told him to keep it a secret from Sebastian. Anyone in her place would.

"If you guys are done here, I would like to talk to her in private. Please leave," Vincenzo said, and Aditya nodded bitterly, pulling Madeline along with him.

"That...that... how dare he slap me? The princess of the hunter’s bloodline! I will ensure they see the wrath of the emperor for -"

"Will you please stop it? Haven’t you made enough fool of yourself that you want to include elders in this too? Just how low are you going to stoop to prove Elliana is lesser than you?

She saved my life, and rather than thanking her, the person who saved your fiance’s life, you slapped her? How pathetic can you become?" Aditya walked away, feeling bitterness in his mouth at what he saw today.

Even if it wasn’t that Prince Sebastian, Elliana still has too many people trying to be affectionate and be near her.

This won’t work like this. He will have to think of something, and as soon as possible.

Inside the room, Elliana looked at Vincenzo, waiting for him to speak something.

"So, so you think and believe Sebastian was the one who sent those men to hurt him?" Vincenzo asked, and Elliana sighed.

"I would’ve believed it. Mr. Marino is really a very possessive man and it’s not a surprise to me since he keeps calling me the devil’s possession. So it wouldn’t have come off as surprising. But a few things ticked me off," Elliana said.

Vincenzo sat closer to her, listening to her speak intently as he looked at the scratch on her hands, he rubbed his thumb over it softly.

"First, the guards didn’t know who I was. Aditya was the one who told them that I was the same girl their prince wanted Aditya to stay away from. Then they called me a bitch and whore and - ouch!" Elliana winced when Vincenzo accidentally put more pressure on her wound than he intended.

"I am sorry, I was just -"

"Angered?" Elliana smiled at him, and he looked at her awkwardly.

"What do you want me to do? There must be a reason you called me here," he said, and Elliana hummed.

"I want you to help me look into those men who pretended to be Mr. Marino’s man and tried to frame him. I have to know who is the mastermind behind all these plans," Elliana said.

Vincenzo hummed.

He remembered something and immediately pulled out his phone.

"By the way, can you look at this picture and tell me if you recognize this woman?" Vincenzo asked.

Elliana took the phone from his hand. She enlarged the photo, looking at the sketch closely.

She shook her head.

"I am not sure. I might have seen her, but I don’t recognize her," Elliana said.

"Are you sure about it? Take your time looking at it," Vincenzo said.

"I have seen enough, Prince Vincenzo," Elliana said, and the latter hummed.

"Who is she?" She asked.

Vincenzo just smiled and placed the phone in his pocket. He didn’t tell her who she was. Was there any use telling her? It looks like her story was more complicated than he had thought.

She said she might have seen her. The chances were sh forgot about the face since it has been more than 14 years or so. But what if Elliana wasn’t the real illegitimate daughter at all?

"You didn’t answer me," Elliana probed more, and Vincenzo sighed.

"It’s nothing. Someone said that a lady was looking for you so I asked him what she looked like and got this sketch done," Vincenzo hid the truth partially.

Remembering the number of the witches that have been looking for her these days, she didn’t say anything to him.

She was about to ask him what he would do to catch the culprit when an idea came to her head.

"Wait. You can do that? Have someone’s sketch done?" She asked, and Vincenzo nodded vaguely before he understood where she was hinting at.

"I can’t promise the authenticity," he said, and she sighed.

"Something is always better than nothing," Elliana said before she tried to sit up with his help.

"Look into my head space. Read my mind. I want you to see the faces that I saw. Use it to get the pictures drawn," Elliana said.

Vincenzo looked at her weirdly, not saying anything nonetheless.

For a human girl who doesn’t have much experience around vampires, she surely knows a lot about how it works.

Vincenzo took a deep breath and extended his hand, cupping her cheeks. It wasn’t necessary, but for some reason, he didn’t want to leave this opportunity.

He raised his gaze, looking into her amber-drowning eyes. For a few seconds, he forgot what he was doing before she blinked, and he snapped back to reality.

Elliana tried her best to keep her mind barrier up and only think about the incident that happened and nothing else that he shouldn’t know.

"Have you looked enough?" Elliana asked after a minute, and Vincenzo nodded.

"I will get back to you soon about the sketches. Also, you should call Sebastian. If he came to know from someone else, he would surely be pissed," Vincenzo said before he pulled her cheeks softly.

"Should I stay or leave?" He asked.

He wanted her to say that he should stay, but to his disappointment, he denied it.

"Mr. Marino would be more pissed if he saw you here before him," she said, and Vincenzo hummed.

"I shall take my leave then," he said after looking at her one last time and leaving.

Elliana looked at her phone and dialed Lucas’s number.

"Princess, what can I do for you? Is there something you need?" Lucas asked, and Elliana sighed.

"Where is your sir?" She asked.

Meanwhile, in the office room, Sebastian was going through some files when he received a call on his office’s landline number.

"Hello, Devil speaking," he said.

He has been so accustomed to everyone calling him the name that he started introducing himself as this only. It was far better than calling his entire name Prince Sebastian Marino.

"This is the Dean of the Biotechnology Department of the University, sir. It’s about student Elliana," the dean paused, and Sebastian leaned back in his seat, putting a page stopper on his file.

"What is it?" He asked.

"This, I am not sure if you have been informed sir, but we deeply apologize for what happened to Mrs. Marino. We had no idea something like that would happen. Rest assured, we will have the entire back regions of the University locked up until we rectify and ensure there are no more trespassers like that," The Dean tried to butter up.

Sebastian didn’t understand what the dean was saying and was about to ask him what happened when Lucas opened the door of the office with a jerk.

"Sir, it’s Princess. Some vampires attacked her under the pretense of royal vampire guards," Lucas said, making Sebastian’s gaze turn dark immediately.
