Chapter 312: Who wanted to hurt him?

"Okay, I will contact you soon regarding it. Please take care of him in the meantime," Elliana ended the call.

She leaned on the tree near the lake and took a deep breath.

It was becoming hard for her. It has been five days since she was interrogated by Mr. Marino, and to say things have only been turning more complicated since then would be an understatement.

Even Marcello has been suffering because of her little mistake. The poor guy had been moving around places to stay hidden, and as much as she hated to agree to it, Elliana knew it was all because of her.

Revenge was really an ugly emotion and just because she wanted to have a little fun and get back to them for catching her off guard she was now in this situation.

She dialed Marcello’s number again and took a deep breath.

"Please tell me you are not telling me to shift again," Marcello groaned as the guy barely woke up from sleep, and Elliana sighed awkwardly.

"I indeed called you for that. However, this time I can assure you that you won’t have to change places again. I heard from the rogue wolves. The vampires also used the scent-hiding perfume and indeed roamed around the moon city looking for you," Elliana paused, letting him digest the information.

"Since they couldn’t find you in these five days, they retreated. I don’t think they would be returning this time, but to be on the safe side, you will be living with a different set of rogues this time. I will send you the details. You can go to the place you were living at, and they’ll show you around," Elliana said, and Marcello sighed.

"Thank God you got it sorted. Send me the details soon. I can’t wait to have a worry-free sleep. You have no idea how I have been sleeping these past days...uhhh," Marcello groaned, and Elliana smiled before sending the address to him and the rogue wolves.

Once she sent the details she was about to turn around and go back to her classes when she heard some weird shuffling behind her.

It almost sounded like someone was running in her direction.

"Who’s -" She couldn’t complete her sentence as the next thing she knew, a body was thrown at her feet, and her eyes went wide with horror.

"Aaahh!" A small scream left her mouth.

She was shocked, not because she was seeing someone hurt for the first time, but because she was familiar with the person lying on her feet.

"Aditya!" Elliana shouted, falling on her knees as she turned his body to see if he was still breathing or not.

"E-elliana, it’s you?" Aditya said with great difficulty before he coughed blood, and Elliana looked at his pale face, bewildered.

What the hell happened? How did he come here and in this condition..? Her mind went haywire.

"How did this all happen? Who did this to you?" She cupped his cheeks, feeling helpless.

"Wait. Let me call for someone to help-" Elliana was about to stand and grab her phone that had fallen from her hands in shock.

"No, Elliana. You need to run away from here, Elliana. These people are out for my blood, and if they see you helping me, they’ll hurt you too. I can’t let it happen. I know I’ve been very unfair to you in the past, but I still won’t be able to bear it if anything happens to you because of me. Please leave," Aditya cupped her cheeks with his bloodied hands.

Elliana’s heartbeat picked its pace. Her ears were ringing with a weird ringing sound as she knew she needed to do something to save Aditya. Her eyes brimmed with tears as she saw him coughing more blood and looked around helplessly.

"Somebody help!" she shouted.

"Who is behind you? I don’t care. I can fight a few bunch of people. Don’t worry about me. First, we need to get you to the hospital," Elliana held his hand before she bent and helped him up, making him groan in pain.

"What are you doing? Don’t scream," Aditya moaned with displeasure.

Elliana looked at the cuts on his body, and her hands shivered.

Though she disliked him in the past because of how he was always taking Madeline’s side and prioritizing her, she never wished for him to get hurt like this.

Her feelings have always been real towards him, and though she was now in love with Mr. Marino, it didn’t mean she didn’t care for this guy as a friend.

"Elliana, leave me alone. I will walk to the infirmary. If you want to help me, please just call the ambulance for me and leave. It was not safe here. These are not some bunch of bandit humans you will be able to fight. These are the royal vampire guards we are talking about," Aditya said, and Elliana froze in her place.

Royal vampire guards? What did he mean by that?

"What do -"

"Look, let’s close the matter here. You should leave. I don’t want the guards to see you here helping me. What if your husband becomes angry and punishes you at home? I don’t want you to get hurt in the end because of me," Aditya said, and Elliana gulped.

She couldn’t believe it. Yes she agrees that her husband can be a bit possessive and would hurt anyone who would hurt her, but actually hurting someone just because he messaged her that he will make her his and -

Elliana paused her trail of thoughts.

It was quite possible.

’You are mine, Princessa. You belong to the devil, and anyone who would try to hurt you or try to come between will receive a painful death,’ He had indeed used such words in the past but...

Elliana still didn’t want to believe it.

No. Mr. Marino wasn’t like this. He won’t hurt someone just -

Elliana’s thoughts were a mess, and her powers started picking on her emotions.

"Why are you listening to me, Elliana?! Leave me alone. Please, I beg you," Aditya begged her, and Elliana felt her lips trembling.

She was contemplated. It was her husband’s doing, but should she really stand back and see him doing wrong? Besides, what if it’s not Mr. Marino, and someone is just framing him?

Elliana was about to hold his hand again, when out of nowhere, she felt a presence around her before someone gave her a hard kick across her abdomen and she was sent flying back, her back hitting the big tree, making her fall on the ground.

She looked up, coughing a little, her pupils dilating when she saw blood. Her periods had barely ended today, and this made it even worse as she struggled to get up, failing miserably.

"Who is this bitch? Is this what you humans call backup? You have gotten a petite woman like her to save you? Pathetic," the guards appeared one by one, and Elliana narrowed her eyes as she looked at them, the infamous symbol of Mr. Marino’s team clear on their uniforms, and she gulped.

Were they indeed sent by Mr. Marino?
