Chapter 305: If I wanted, I could
"Aaaaaaaa!"
"Aaaaaaa!"
"Aaaaaaaa!"
"Go to the left,"
"Oh my god! It’s after me!"
"Teacher, control it! You should know how to control your powers!"
"I am trying!"
Nathaniel rose in the air to save himself from all this trouble along with the witch Madona and the dean since they could use the air element the best here.
They watched how the girl was still standing in between without a worry in the world as if what was happening around her didn’t bother.
As if she wasn’t the one who used that strong spell and made the attack scatter at everyone.
Elliana looked around, trying to find Nathaniel before she looked in the air and blinked twice with her lips pressed together, looking as innocent as ever. She tucked her hair behind her ears and the latter sighed.
"I don’t know what I am going to do with her. That’s why I was against the strength test. Just one word from her and look what you guys made her do," Nathaniel said before he smiled back at the girl who extended her hands like a Satan’s toddler asking to be pampered.
"My sunshine, can you stop it?" Nathaniel asked, and Elliana shrugged.
"Will you make me float in the air too if I do?" she asked, and Nathaniel nodded at her.
"What should I say to stop it all?" She asked, blinking again.
Dean - "..." This fool. Who asked you to scatter the attack if you didn’t know how to stop it? We would’ve saved you either way. The dean smiled forcefully.
"Something like stop?" The dean asked, and Elliana hummed before pouting.
"Beenden," Elliana said, and just like that, the black water tide immediately stopped moving and started disappearing, making Nathaniel look at her in a new light.
So this was it? She needs to stay happy, be respected, and not be provoked, and the world is a safe place.
"Since I have been only defending for so long and not attacking, you wouldn’t know if my strength. Should I make my first and only attack?" Elliana looked at the teacher she had challenged.
The teacher looked at the girl, contemplating his life choices for real now. He looked behind her, his gaze meeting with the dean who had his hands crossed in a clear signal - don’t say yes.
The teacher’s gaze moved to the mixed-breed prince who had a neutral expression on his face, but he didn’t look like he was thrilled with the idea either.
But then he looked to his right to all the students who were watching him closely.
What reputation he would be left with if he said no to a fifth-grade student? Who will respect him?
The teacher hummed inwardly before nodding at the girl.
He noticed how the girl smiled brightly.
She didn’t move her hands, it was as if she had a different otherworldly communication with her powers. She only looked up in the air and before anyone could blink, a loud thunderclap resounded in the air, and the teacher widened his eyes.
She wasn’t doing what he thought she was, right?
He should’ve taken Dean’s advice.
Elliana darted her gaze from the sky at him, and he saw the strike of lightning coming at him. The teacher closed his eyes, ready to take the attack that would probably kill him since he also knew he wouldn’t be able to save himself from this kind of targeted attack when water was his specialized region.
It was like a missile that wouldn’t leave him until it hit him, so there was no use running. He took a deep breath and expanded his hands, but the strike never came.
He opened his eyes and looked at the electricity strike which was only a few inches away from him.
What the -
The teacher gulped, falling backward in shock. He looked to his side and looked at the girl who was smiling at him, a clear message in her eyes: Just so you know if I wanted, I could.
The teacher looked at the dean who was standing with his hand on his face and then to Nathaniel who looked mildly surprised. His hand was in the air and the teacher noticed how the prince was ready to counter Elliana’s attack to save him.
He probably hadn’t thought that the girl would be able to control it so efficiently, right?
Seeing them standing at their places, he knew if the girl hadn’t paused it at the last second, he would’ve been really splattered on the ground in nothing more than ashes if Prince Nathaniel had been late too.
It was hard for him to believe, but he lost terribly. The teacher nodded at the girl.
He sat on his knees and bowed to the girl in front of him in due respect.
Nathaniel observed everything. This girl... she was good at instilling fear in her subjects, a true nature of the dark witch.
He looked at her eyes darkening as if she was delighted at the site of the teacher bowing to her. And even though he knew it was her powers, he felt strange seeing her like this.
"You don’t have to bow down to me. Please take care of me in the future. I don’t have many people to look up to, and I am alone in this world which is new to me too. Please teach me your excellent techniques," Elliana was back in control as she raised her hand for the first time through the entire battle and sent the lightning back to the sky, the sound of fireworks, making her look up in awe.
The teacher looked at the girl’s face. If it had been anyone else, they would’ve been smug about the situation, but seeing how she was genuinely happy seeing the fireworks she herself created, he felt his eyes brimming with tears.
Never in the entire battle did she once touch him or hurt him anyway, but he didn’t leave a chance to hurt her. He even made her bleed.
He failed. And he didn’t just fail in this battle, he failed as a teacher. He wasn’t supposed to lose control like this. This... it was just a test, but he took it to his ego.
Looking at the humble girl in front of him, he took a deep breath.
"Is this what we call winning the fight with humbleness? Her darkness overpowers her, but her goodness and ability to see good in everything and everyone would be the one who will overpower everything. You don’t have to worry about it, Prince Nathaniel," the dean paused.
"She won’t turn out to be a curse," he completed his sentence, and Nathaniel looked at the teacher who was the most skeptical of her presence in the University, smiling at the girl as he stood and patted her head adoringly.
A smile spread across his lips.
"Little by little, I will help you get your reign in this world, my little one. One step at a time," Nathaniel sighed when he saw the dean raising his hand and placing it on her back.
The mark of the fifth-grade witch appeared on the back of her aura that would be visible to the witches only.
"Nath, are you proud of me?" She walked to him, and he looked at her before nodding.
"I am more than just proud, my sweetheart," he whispered before kissing her forehead, and she sighed.
