Chapter 304: Dodge and attack
"What did you say?" The teacher asked, and Elliana smiled.
"I just warned you about my attack. I don’t know how to do it, so please don’t expect any sharp attacks from me," Elliana stood with her hands behind her as she stood there like she was standing in the garden.
Her powers were influencing her mood once again.
"Enough with your empty words. I know students like you who like to talk big. Don’t think I would go easy on you just because you are a girl. I am beginning with my attack then," the teacher said, and even though he said that he wasn’t affected by her threat, he still didn’t use the water force directly from his hands.
He won’t take any risks when he doesn’t know the full capacity of this girl.
Rather, he looked up in the sky, and Elliana followed his gaze.
The arena of the field was specially designed by 16 tenth-grade witches. Anything that happens here wouldn’t affect the outer world. And thus, it was a perfect place for battles.
Since this place didn’t have an element of its own, no one here had any regional benefit. The only benefit they can use is the correct use of space and their powers.
As if a cloud burst, Elliana saw a sudden loud trail of water falling towards her.
Nathaniel’s hands clenched by his side. It was powerful. The pressure of this water that was aimed at Elliana was enough to kill a regular human because the normal body wouldn’t be able to take that kind of pain.
He was ready to save Elliana if something went wrong, but to say everyone was shocked would be an understatement.
Elliana kept looking up with an unfazed expression, and the teacher noticed how she didn’t even move a limb yet the water didn’t dare to reach her. It was as if a shield was formed around her that was scattering the magical water around everywhere.
Nathaniel smiled in relief.
"Ten seconds passed. Try another method," the dean announced, and Elliana smiled before she blinked her eyes innocently.
"It looks like your water steam didn’t want to hurt me, SIR," she said, her words appearing nothing more than mockery to the teacher, and he gritted his teeth.
"Is that so? Why don’t you try to attack?" The teacher asked, and Elliana shook her head.
"I don’t know, sir. Isn’t that why I am here? I will dodge for now," she said, and the teacher felt even more provoked. This girl though innocent was a bit too cunning.
"Okay, I will try another method," the professor said before he raised his hand, and like a water gun, he clicked his fingers.
As soon as he clicked his fingers, out of nowhere, a water blade passed by Elliana’s face, slicing her right cheek, making Nathaniel step forward, but the deal held his hand.
"I know it’s hard to see her getting hurt, but it’s part of it. If you interfere so early, she will be forever named as a coward and no school will take her," the dean explained.
Elliana touched her cheeks before pulling her hand down, her pupils dilating when she noticed the blood on her fingers.
Just how much was she going to bleed today? She sighed before looking at the teacher’s neutral expression.
"I am sorry, sir. I was caught off-guard. Please forgive me for being distracted," Elliana bowed to him.
The teacher thinned his lips. It was becoming hard to figure her out. One moment she was threatening, the other moment she acted like there was no one as innocent and obedient as her. She was becoming a mystery that he so wanted to unravel but couldn’t.
"Should I start defending now?" Elliana didn’t raise her gaze at the teacher.
"Attack now," she said, and the teacher narrowed his brows.
He raised his hand in the sky before bringing it down and facing it towards her.
Pit. Pat.
Everyone noticed the light feather touch rain and sparkles floating in the air.
This time he won’t let her use the shield. If she would just use a shield for everything, would it be useful anymore? He wanted to see her real strength.
"What is he doing?" Nathaniel asked.
Almost every witch at such a level has their own specialty, and it was hard to figure out what their intentions were until they mentioned it.
"It’s a technique he uses to mess with the other person’s aura and magic. This will ensure she won’t be able to use the shield she did earlier," the dean said, and Nathaniel hummed before looking ahead, hoping Elliana’s powers would find a way around it.
"I am attacking," the teacher said, and soon out of the blue, water blades from every direction started coming at Elliana, one sliced her leg, while the other sliced her hands.
Elliana winced in pain but didn’t show any fear or pain on her face.
The teacher smiled and was about to ask her if she wanted to stop before she got too wounded, but before he could even open his mouth, he saw something weird happening.
Fire. Blue Blazing invisible fire formed around Elliana’s body. The water blades he was throwing at her were for some reason becoming blunt and falling right before they could touch her body. The fire was only visible when it was countering his blades, and he sighed.
"So fire is your element?" The teacher asked before he used another method and used water ball shots of thicker density mixed with mud that fire wouldn’t be able to put out, and Elliana raised her brows.
"I never said that," she looked at the teacher before sighing.
The teacher noticed her turning around and dodging the water shot.
Everyone stood from their place.
"Impossible!" one of the teachers exclaimed.
They could’ve believed that she had used her powers to fight back, but dodging the shot of 150km/hr from such short distance was practically impossible.
"I think it was just some luck," the teacher said before he threw more water shots at her, and seeing the girl moving around them effortlessly with her hands still behind her, he felt greatly provoked.
The dean looked at the time and sighed.
"55 seconds passed," the dean said.
The teacher immediately raised his hand, collecting his water magna before directing it towards the girl.
It was supposed to be a simple attack, but in his urge to win since he didn’t want to lose to a little girl, the teacher forgot to conceal his energy.
"Elliana!" Nathaniel widened his eyes when he saw her looking at the black water tide in fear. It was clear- she didn’t know what to do at the moment.
He rushed to her along with the dean, ready to save her.
The teacher who had used the attack immediately recognized his mistake when he saw the large tide he formed subconsciously. He also rushed forward to protect the girl from his relentless attack, his heart full of guilt.
Every ninth-grade and above witch rushed to save the little girl who would be swept away in a way that even her bones wouldn’t be available for anyone to see.
Elliana raised her gaze towards the sky and looked at the large water tide, closing her eyes as if accepting her fate, but at the last moment right before even a single drop could touch her skin, she whispered a word. A word that was enough for everyone to run around and save their life instead.
"Streuen," Elliana whispered, her eyes turning black for a minuscule second, and everyone screamed in horror.
