Chapter 284: A little delulu never hurts

To say Elliana was shocked would be an understatement.

This couldn’t be a coincidence.

This was planned.

She could see it in the way that person’s eyes met with hers immediately as soon as they turned to her. Her hands clenched by her side, and she excused herself from the conference room.

"Please be respectful to your new professor. Though they are... physically challenged, they have brought their sign translator with them. So you shouldn’t have a problem with that," Dean announced, and Elliana closed her eyes for a second before taking a deep breath.

"Excuse me," Elliana stood from her place.

"Hey, Elliana -" Dexter started, finding it a bit strange that the girl was so happy a few minutes ago and was now acting so strangely.

Elliana walked out of the conference room and stood near the railing, a scowl etched on her face as she looked at her hands that were glowing again, her frustrated emotions taking over.

"Hey...Elliana. Hey... at least give her a chance to explain," Sasha rushed to Elliana, and she turned around with a glare, her gaze stopping at Glow, who was standing at some distance with a hopeful smile on her face.

This cunning woman! She knew what she was doing with that smile of hers.

However, she wasn’t going to forgive them this time around. She sighed.

"It’s okay. I don’t have to hear it. I have told you guys before too, that what you guys do out of the missions is your life. The Dean said she is quite talented and got the job based on her knowledge," Elliana looked at Glow up and down.

She stepped closer to Glow, looking straight into her eyes with a rebellious gaze.

"I know why she did it. It’s quite obvious. But let me tell you one thing, Glow. If you have attachment issues, you better show it to the person who loves you," Elliana took a deep breath to control her feelings and clenched her hands behind her back.

"To me, you are nothing more than a girl who works for me. So stop behaving like a fucking puppy because it means nothing to me. You got this position as the professor, so act like one. I don’t know you and neither do you," Elliana turned to Sasha before scoffing.

"Explanation, my ass. Stop acting like a bunch of symbiotic parasites," Elliana said to them, and Dexter, who was hiding behind the walls and hearing their conversation, clenched his fists.

He felt bad for these two ladies who actually wanted to coax Elliana but got insulted like this in the end.

He was one hundred percent sure that a girl who risks everything just to ensure her friends are safe and sound would never say such harsh words to them without a hidden agenda.

He wanted to walk ahead and tell them that Elliana didn’t mean to say what she did, but was he really in any position to do so?

He recognized the mute lady through her eyes, other physical features, and dressing sense. This so-called professor was present in the wolves’ regions where Elliana had gone to comfort that other girl.

Dexter was about to leave and see how Elliana was doing when he heard the people talking again.

"Well, at least she didn’t sever ties with us. It’s a good thing. She would’ve acted more angrily. It looks like she is in love with us as much as we are.

Did you hear her? She called us symbiotic parasites. She definitely loves us," One of them spoke, and Glow nodded with a beaming smile on her face.

Dexter - "..." The hell?! He has heard that delusional people have no conscience whatsoever. But this was the first time he had seen it.

Elliana walked to the other side of the corridor, feeling guilty about all the things she said to her girls, but weren’t they being a bit too much?

She dialed Marcello’s number in her fit of anger, wanting to take some of her anger out, and Marcello, who was expecting to receive it today, looked at the phone call with a troubled expression.

"Hello?" He finally picked after much contemplation, and Elliana took a deep breath.

"Did you know about it already?" Elliana asked, sure that they were in this together. This Duke was surely getting more involved with her girls after they started living in those wolf territories.

"I don’t know what you are talking about. I don’t know anyone, and I am definitely innocent in whatever crime anyone has done or you think I am involved in," Marcello said, and Elliana took a deep breath.

"All of you have lost your mind," Elliana ended the call, not wanting to deal with any more drama.

The more she tried to keep them away, the more reasons they were found to come close to her!

Elliana groaned, kicking the wall in anger, and ruffling her hair in frustration.

She turned around since they were to start experimenting already and sighed when she reached inside the laboratory, looking around in pure amazement.

"Elliana, where did you go?" Elliana turned towards Aditya with a scowl.

"We are talking again? Why did no one inform me about it?

I thought our so-called one-sided friendship ended the moment you decided that no matter what happens, you will only believe Madeline over anyone and everything," Elliana raised her brows at him, her anger from earlier taking over her, and Aditya thinned his lips.

"Elliana, it’s not like that. You and I both know this relationship was decided by the elders. I have no say in it," Aditya stepped ahead and held Elliana’s hand, making her look at his hand.

If it had been earlier, she would’ve turned into a blushing freak with the way he held her and stepped closer, forcing her to look into his eyes with his unwavering gaze.

"Well, last time I talked to Madeline, this wasn’t exactly the thing she said. Do you want to know what she said?" Elliana stepped ahead, looking straight into his eyes, her stance domineering and powerful, making Aditya gulp and look at her with wariness.

This aura, he had felt the same aura when she was showing him the video that day...

"She said my life is nothing but a hand-out, a charity she did to me. That she can come and take back this happiness, the position, and everything.

She said she would click her fingers and just say she didn’t know about the bridal exchange, and it would be over for me. Are you sure the feelings you share are mutual, Mr. Aditya?" Elliana raised her hand.

Her eyes turned dark as she smirked at him, freezing him in place. Her intoxicating smell wafted through his nostrils as she rose on her feet to correct his out-of-the-place hair, making him take a deep breath, his heart skipping a beat, feeling the same emotions he had been trying to bury for so long.

"If I were you, I would keep my fiance in place. For all I know, power-hungry bitches can actually resort to anything and everything to get what they want. Aren’t you suspicious of her recent activity?" Elliana looked around, smiling in satisfaction when she noticed no one was watching her.

She stepped even closer to Aditya, almost nose-to-nose with him.

"A little birdie told me she was hanging with a vampire businessman quite a lot. And the friendship is okay, but dining with him? At night too? Oh my god, what is going on? Aren’t you guys supposed to hate them?" Elliana raised her eyes at him.

"Elliana! Don’t cross your limits," Aditya raised his voice, and Elliana chuckled, her chuckle drawing everyone’s attention, and Glow and Sasha looked at their little leader.

They wondered if the boy she was talking to was a good friend of hers or what. However, they weren’t left wondering for long, because the next thing they knew, Elliana grabbed Aditya’s collar, pulling him closer, her face only a couple of inches away from her.

"You don’t raise your voice at me, Mr. Aditya. I am not the same innocent girl who was crushing on you. These days I get angry really easily, and I hope I won’t have to show you what my anger looks like," Elliana left his collar, patting it softly before she raised her gaze, and looked straight into his eyes once again.

"I mean, it won’t look good if I plunge this pipette in your neck now, will it?" Elliana smiled, her extra-sweet smile promising nothing good.

"Later, the council head’s son," Elliana bowed to him before turning around and leaving, scowling at Glow, who was looking at her with raised brows.

Aditya turned to look at the girl, coughing a bit. He hadn’t realized he was holding his breath until she left.

Her strong aura confused him. There was something about Elliana that was changed now, something he wasn’t able to grab. It was almost as if her aura screamed danger and demanded submission now. He sighed and turned to go to his place to start working on his set of experiments.
